Why is unit depth so deep, and why aren't you using groups to maintain formation, and your guys must be exhausted....curious why you didn't manage pacing
Using the AI against itself has been a trick exp people use house rules against as it makes battles too easy. I remember using half stacks in R:total realism, no splitting off units so AI gives up flanks, no horse archers, max 2 Cav etc etc etc
I think if you put your archers to the back of our troops on plain and set them to auto-fire, they'll make more damage to our own troops then the enemy.
Iam not that good in total war series but isnt it bad that you use so much "blocky" formations instead of long lanes with only maybe 4 rows instead of 8+, because more men will be able to attack at the same time?
@TrueTriad4Life hi! For Kizugawaguchi I can't find any way to beat it except to circle around and slowly lame them whenever fire arrow becomes available. Using firebomb ships seem chancy, a lucky salvo from one of those ships (even when being boarded!!) just completely devastates the crew..
That was really informative! Yous should keeping doing these. Especially teaching the basics, because there really aren't that many learning resources out there.
I have been spending too much time with Americans! I am an Aussie but I work from home online. So I am never really in Aus. I love traveling but I hate the impact it has on my accent a vocabulary.
nice, i beat it on hard with a slightly different strategy. I just stayed more at the base of the trees... rotating my melee/archer line as needed, with the cavalry flanking. Your strategy of meeting the enemy heads on towards the end works a bit better though, because you get to face each army individually.
To be completely honest I really only became interested in the total war series when I played Empire: Total War in 2009. For posterity I downloaded and played Rome: Total War but I am by no means an expert. So I cannot really answer your question.
@Pizarroconquer yes it does, ive played since the original shogun and there is alot more available with these new environments. cuz if you think back to rome like you asked, it was pretty basic. just imagine that with the napoleon total war kind of maps, with good heights and valleys to put stratergies to use in
@Pizarroconquer as far as i can see, Shogun 2 seems to offer many new strategies that previous total war games, i have noticed that troop positioning, composition etc has much greater bearing in this game, and things like keeping your general alive are much more important than they were previously. Hope this helped :)
@TheGameStrategy i mentioned on one of your other vids so i thought id put again here for other people =]
attacking matchlock infantry with cav is fine if they are moving and caught off-guard or if you hit their flanks/backs. but if you send a cav unit head on at a matchlock ready to fire when they get close [Multiplayer] you cav WILL be comepletely destroyed and/or routed
im feeling talkative =P another tip is when you are pulling units out of battle, like cav from spears, put them on guard mde and they will stop any combat they are caught in and follow your command, also stops them chasing enemy across the map until they are in a useless position =]
Wow Shogun 2 must be popular I already have 20 views and I posted this only a few hours ago. Feel free to leave a comment if this video helped you or even if you want to criticize my strategy.
I realize I made a few mistakes namely letting my General take a beating. The plan was to pull him out much sooner but I got distracted.
amazing LOL... can't win this battle in normal difficulty >.<

On this one I found a particular spot to hold off hold off, without losing barely any unit. If I could show my own video that would be awesome

i use two ashigaru and my cav to kill the 2 enemy cav units at the start.
i pull my entire army behind the shimazu, the shimazu will fight when attacked by the enemy, they do massive damage and save you men.
the real test is fighting the naginatas from the second enemy wave after having slaughtered the first army witht he help of the shimazu.
usually all the shimazu are dead, leaving 90% of ma dudes to murder the naginata army. i suppose i shud try to do a video to go with what im waffling.
