wow- that's exactly my situation.. i've been finger practicing and memorizing a few small arrangments for 3 and half years and after i warm up for an hour or so it seems like i can play like a pro.. lol but i could never play a whole song that way because i have found out that it takes me forever to memorize a few measures looking at a midi keyboard.. i've tried looking at video tutorials and that's even harder.. now it's clear to me that reading music is the best- (or only)- way to go.
