To everyone going on about nostalgia for whatever reason:
I'm 18. I heard this song for the first time about 5 months ago. And I love it to death. Just because you've liked it all your life doesn't mean that us youngin's can't love it too.
Turn the page; find out what happens in the next chapter, for better or for worse.
I'm sure as talanted and proud as he is (and for good reason), Seger probably wouldn't want us to dwell on old songs only to let it overshadow what could potentially be the next Guns N Roses.
Respect and love the oldies, by all means, just don't let nostalgia cloud your judgement. There are people with talent out there who believe they don't, and if we go on like this, music will die to money and corporatism.
I wish he would come to Brown's Island In Richmond, VA. Joan Jett even got it out there. Loved it! <3 B. S is always in my heart from the start of my childhood. Forever in Love ^^^M^^^
this song makes me sit back and think of my dad Dennis Madrie and his good friend Jack Stoner siting in the shed behind Jacks house playing the guiter and singing this song i miss and love you both may you rest in peace
wanna get this version on ur ipod? i got it on mine cause i loved it xD youtue-mp3 . org.... or you can google anyother video to mp3 conversion sites. but i found this one the best. but since im not a troll and i dont work for that site, so im not promoting it, you can use whichever you wish to use.
if you've been there ....detroit to cleveland then Philly ....having traffic in the west bound side shut down so all the traffic is on one side as you careen thru the mountains of PA...
There's just a feeling to this song, that no cover can seem to replicate...It's that feeling of being lonely, riding on a large tour bus, playing packed venues, but still being burned out because you don't feel any substance to each night. It's like the music bleeds the feeling through every note, and that's something this newer music just don't seem to get. Music has a soul.
This is one of the best songs ever made. I first saw Bob Seger System back in 68. My brother and me loved all his music. I had to lay my brother down a few years ago. Some friends of his sang this song at his funeral. As I was leaving town this song came on the radio... I had to stop and pull over because my eyes were running a bit. When ever I hear this song now i Think of my brother... I will always miss him and love this song.. Rock on Bob..
This music is done. I'm 47 and have been a working musician since I was 18.
Bob Seger was gold. He was genius. Although I do play anymore - its pointless - this is the music that defined my life. And my life - and the memories of the music that defined who I am - will never be matched.
Real music died with the internet - Youtube included. Music was about emotion and feelings - being pretty had noting to do with it.
@garcemac Don't fool yourself. Being pretty has always been a huge part of popular music. Look at the careers of Elvis, Britney Spears, David Cassidy - and even for the young Frank Sinatra it was huge.
@garcemac no one cares about your lack of nostalgia. Don't take the emotion away from the people of a new generation. Music can generate emotions through any media, internet included. Just because some of us can't relive the 1970's doesn't mean we're not touched by the emotion that music provides to us all.
@garcemac idk, can you really blame the internet for trends changing? i feel like that would happen anyway. you could argue that TV did the same thing. we wouldn't all be able to watch this awesome vid without the internet ;)
LA VERSION DE METALLICA ES UNA CHIMBA POR LO DE LA REALIZACION DE UN EXELENTE VIDEO , PERO NO HAY COMO LAS VERSIONES ORIGINALES QUE SON LAS QUE LAS DAN A CONOCER AL MUNDO

Was there an audience at this concert? Other than the cheers, I don't hear that solid wall of sound of 17K people singing along with Bob. Were they all standing in line for the restroom or something?
I saw Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band in 1980 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, In. He played about a 2-1/2 hour show that was nothing but phenomenal from start to finish. Still one of my favorite all time concerts that I've ever attended.
Greensboro, NC in 1978. Still the best concert I've ever seen -- better than the Stones in'75, The Who, etc. Stood in my chair on the floor the whole show with Robert, Cindy and Bobby.
Great back in '80, still great today, saw a show from this tour in Aug '80 @ Alpine Valley and saw 5 shows from the last tour. Still the same, still damn good!
Thanks for the flashback Tangent!! Makes me ready for that live DVD for sure.
This is just not a song , it is a rock anthem and with the slow pace and the sax is beautiful.Saw Bob back in the 80`s a hell of a concert
