Oh, and to the person who think that the police should have a bilingual person with them when ever they are on duty.... Do you know what country you are in? Why should tax payers have to pay for a translator or why should officers have to learn another language to do their job? If a person wants to come to america and live the american dream, not to mention enjoy the benifits of being an american, then the very least they can do is learn the language! Its not too much to ask considering!

I love this song, and I agree that 41 shots is overkill, however to those of you who insist that the police are in the wrong by shooting to kill, or should be condemed for doing their job, you should be ashamed of yourself. It is easy to judge someone when you are not the person put your life on the line everyday to protect others. A police officer who hesitates and waits to see what is in a persons pocket is a police officer who most likely will not go home to his or her family!

You guys totally miss the meaning of the song. Its embarrassing. The song provides a balanced view of an ugly truth; its asking for middle ground and there's ample room for it. All it takes is the guts to walk into 'no man's land.' (And yes, I have the credentials, so stop asking for sympathy 'cause you know where to find it in the dictionary.) Open your eyes, and play by the rules, because the game if for keeps.

This song is so true...you can get killed just for living your life, just like Armadou Diallo. Got killed just for having a wallet in his pocket and the suspicions of a special crime unit in NYC. 41 shots were fired, Diallo was hit by 19.
