  • Hi there lovely motor, What axle have you got running on there?

  • hi, running a narrowed volvo 240 axle with custom moser halfshafts and a detroit truetrac diff

  • classic work of art! 5 stars

  • What a beauty, its gorgeous...

  • Couldn't wait for a Ford 351/302?

  • as boyd coddington once said "the best hotrod is a ford with a chevy heart" the ford 302/351 has got to be one of the ugliest engines available (v8) the front end with timing case distributer waterpump is very cluttered.

not that i'm against them mind i've got a zodiac with a 302/c4 setup.

the chevy is much cheaper to tune than the ford small blocks for a similar output.

  • Can't argue with Boyd (RIP) because I myself am partial to SB Chevys, but I've found that those "ugly" Ford engines sometimes keep you from intruding into the firewall on some projects exactly because of the timing cover/distributor up front. I suppose it could've been worse though if there were a 3.5 Rover/Buick engine down in it!!

  • yeah know what you mean.. my zodiac with the 302 in just needed a little hammering to let the rear most bank (right hand side) from connecting with the firewall and i still had to move the radiator forward a few inches to clear waterpump pulley but it's all good

  • What a beast ! I had a Mk3 Zephyr V8 . See it on youtube under Mk3 Zephyr .

  • thats one cool mk3! love the look

  • F Great Car. Did some work on a 61 red with white top. Had a 407 small blaock in it. it was pro street with ladder bar. Owned by a guy called Mark from Kingsbury in North London. That was a long time back this brings good memories.

  • Now thats just great!!

You have any pics of the rebuilding for fitting down the engine?

I want to put a Ford 289 or 352 down my -59 mk II, but the engine compartment is so small!

    What modifications did you do?

Im thinking of just chopping through the firewall...?

  • hi, you will have to move the firewall back approx 4-6 inches in the middle maybe less as i don't know the sbf dimensions will check my photos to see if i can show you, but my bulkhead is'nt the prettiest tho.

  • Thanks for the reply!, looking forwards to those photos, if ya find any, hope im not asking for too much.

  • So beautiful! Love it mate!!

  • Holy badass hell. I get goose bumps watchin this. That sounds mean as all hell.

  • thanks man... by the way love your monte carlo!!!
