I'm thinking of getting an acoustic bass just to play with my friends outside and all that, I'm not gonna spend more than 250 euros in one, what I need to know is if an acoustic bass is loud enough, will it sound with other 2 acoustic guitar or will it disappear?

@andredidiergijon Depends on how you play it. If you use your fingers, then yeah, it'll be unheard against two acoustic guitars. If you use a pick, it'll probably be heard enough. If you slap, then you'll actually be louder than them. If you're willing to shell out some extra cash, get a battery powered bass amp and you'll be heard no matter what.

I have a question: I play bass at my church and I don't like the electric sound; would getting an acoustic bass be a good investment? (I don't want to use an amp.) I just don't think it will be loud enough for church. Please help.

But I was playing an acoustic bass at my local guitar store and it seemed fairly quiet compared to a normal acoustic guitar. But it was acoustic-electric and plugged in it still maintained the acoustic tone to it.

I suggest you go to guitar center and try them out yourself, try and compare the ones in your budget. good luck finding an acoustic at a right price, it should be pretty difficult to find a decent one, im hoping i can go look at some myself soon. :)

$3000-$4000 is a lot of money but I must say that this instrument sounds superb.

By far one of the best acoustic basses I ever heard.

So you obviously pay for the excellent quality that this bass has.

I thought it was a very touching solo, it sounded like something you would normally play on a high-gain electric guitar but yet it sounded so perfect on this acoustic bass.

You're very lucky... I wish I could play a bass like that!
