You're right, 6-6 and bowl eligible while knocking off Big Ten runner up Illinois on the road is about the same as 3-9 and getting stomped 41-10 by Michigan State, and barely beating Temple or like in 2000 losing 45-6 to Ohio State or getting curbstomped by Toledo. PSU fans crack me up because on other boards like ESPN they think that dark era should be stricken from the record and not count. It's all history now and PSU's recovered well. But to say Iowa's recent success with PSU is tarnished because of that era is silly. Some teams just have other's number...see N'western vs. Iowa. I think you should include the whole Big 10 years to be fair, which puts it at 5-8 since 1993, which still is a big edge for Iowa. Anyways, I'm surprised but glad to know that you're rooting for Penn State against Alabama, but I have to tell you I'm super pessimistic about that game. We beat Youngstown State pretty handily but that doesn't mean YSU sucks. Youngstown State is actually a pretty good team and despite the score, they showed they can play ball with the big boys. A Division I-AA team just shouldn't hold PSU scoreless for the first quarter, but YSU did. Afterall they're about the same level as Appalachian State (who beat Michigan, LOL)!
