  • Did he conduct this for memory? If so, it is just another reason to believe that he is a god among men.

  • Trumpet soloist is awesome... Moves his hand on the valve keys like he's playing vibrato on a string instrument :P

  • I found this hard to enjoy knowing there were no saxophones.

  • ...Wow that was amazing! love it!

  • He has cute dimples.

  • PADRISIMO

  • Perfectissimo Maestro Dudamel !!! Perfect windes !!! Perfect strings !!!

My God it's a dream to play at orchestra like this <333

  • 4:30 is fantastic

  • quien ha votado que no le gusta? ¬¬ no entienden de buena musica

  • 8:46 is sooo epic! well, the whole piece is epic^^

  • I like this song. And I said it in english

  • grande esecuzione

  • THE GREATERST OF THE GREATERST.... IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE..?

  • Just look at the joy of these young people playing especially at 9:10. Many of these kids are from extreme poverty and even though Venezuela is a crap country, the musical system for young people is amazing. The orchestras (and there are quote a few) have kids from 16-25, I believe. Dudamel was about 27 when he conducted this piece in London at the Proms.

  • Ok I am officially tired of these fawning, smiling, nancy-boy conductors standing up there acting like they are nearly orgasmically overjoyed when the orchestra actually does what they told them to. Please, give me another aristocrat.. a Mravinsky, a Klemperer, a Furtwanger.. who got what he wanted by the iconic strength of his conception and fully expected that to be enough. And if it wasn't, well, you can always cancel your subscription.

  • sorry that gustavo dudamel is enjoying his work

  • @SunshineMcGillicutty Please never become a conductor. I'd hate playing under your instruction. :I

  • @SunshineMcGillicutty Or you could just shut up and enjoy the music. That could work.

  • one m0:00re time

  • @padredemishijos12 Very interesting, I didn't know all of this. In fact, it is the whole continent who developed together this incredible music, I love it, and particularly this song and also Fuga con Pajarillo.

And especially thank you enormously to have given me the name of the type-setter of Malaguena, I have finally find again the original music which I had lost sight of the fact for a long time. Still thanks a lot !!

  • Excelente!! :D

    arriba Sonora xD

  • Awesome. Just so awesome.

  • @doublerain27bass Same! It's great to play and even though we don't get a greatly interesting part its so awesome to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ctvso definetly! Huapango and Danzon no 2 are my all time fav peices at the mo!

  • 9:08 SO EPIC

  • played this in high school symphony freshman year, and i think it's one of the pieces that made me start to appreciate music. my orchestra conductor left from our school the next year and said of all the things he did, the highlight was making the danzon a success. i am going to argue to play it again before i graduate

  • NOTABLEE, MUY BUEN TEMAA :) (Y)

  • ESTA OBRA ES DEL SINALOENSE.. ARTURO MARQUEZ SE ESTRENO HACE YA CASI 20 AÑOS Y EL HUAPANGO ES DEL JALISIENSE JOSÉ PABLO MONCAYO GARCÍA.. AMBOS MEXICANOS Y AMBAS OBRAS HAN SIDO COMO EL SEGUNDO HIMNO DE MEXICO... INVESTIGUEN PORFAVOR

  • Comment removed

  • Please, luiscar89, I know you got zillion requests like mine, but where can I get this to play it non-stop on my iPod??? Thanks!

  • How could anyone dislike this?

  • @Creed0221 trolls who seek to defile perfection

  • @stakovsky82 No Arturo Marquez is mexican, but I can see how one could mistake it for cubano

  • just love

Puta madree Investiguen tantito... -_-! Viva Arturo Márquez! Viva México!

  • This music truly finds its way directly into my soul!

  • love when the conductor is with the flow

  • At region the conductor was ( literally) dancing to this song. I really wanted to join him.

  • @musischmessage El maestro Arturo Márquez aun vive...

  • MAGNIFICO, BRAVO, BRAVO¡¡¡¡¡

  • As Charles Barkley would say: That's turrible! And that dude is one ugly motha fucka too. :P

  • i also recomend the huapango dudamel.

  • Puedo llegar a las lágrimas con esto. Realmente una obra de arte

  • eccellente ,grande esecuzione

  • not like 62 people, wow, are the heart of stone ..

  • Viva Mexico!!!

    Viva Venezuela!!!

  • 63 people are just retarded....

  • Anyone else think the trumpet player is adorable? lol

  • Professional orchestras don't sound as good as they do.

  • 0:48 Wipes away a tear...

  • lol guy at 0:01 takin a pick before the concert starts

  • @ChoZoxKnightx So that's why Dudamel makes a face? because of the guy taking a pic? Actually we don't see any camera so...not sure about what you're saying :)

  • @Labe88 i was mostly just kidding but if you look at the bottom left of dudamel at the very beginning you see that white dude "taking a PICK" thats a light way of putting it as in "picking his nose" i didnt want to go in deptyh but i guess i had to lol.

  • i'm playng this in double bass, and i can say it's one of my favourite songs to play.

  • OMG. Que viva Venezuela!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG. Que viva Venezuela!!!!!!!!!!! N. n

Me encanta "El Danzon".

  • Warning: Dudamel can be habit forming

  • That trumpet soloist is one hell of a stud.

  • A great performance. There are several Mexican composers of note: Carlos Chavez and Silvestre Revueltas are among the two best known.

  • because mexican music is not only mariachi!

  • @zyon18 Actually, the Danzons were based on Cuban music. Marquez was Mexican, yes, but i just thought it'd be interesting to point it out.

  • @zyon18 it's mostly venezuelan....

  • @UateMYkid yeah, the performers are venezuelan, but I was talking about the composer :)

@cclementi6 so what are you saying? there's no such thing as local rock then? no other classical music but european? all the car engines are american because ford invented the first one?

  • @zyon18 I meant the inspiration and sound of the music is Venezuelan...and Dudamel is Venezuelan himself

  • @UateMYkid I'm sorry but I don't agree with that either (with the part of the inspiration and sound)... is like if you say that the inspiration and sound of a Beethoven's 5th (when Dudamel conducted the Gothenburg Symphony) is Venezuelan just because he is.

Maybe you could say the interpretation is Venezuelan but only that, neither the sound and absolutely not the inspiration!

  • @zyon18 No I'm not saying that because he is Venezuelan, the piece itself sounds like it draws inspiration from classical Venezuelan music

  • @zyon18 I heard Dudamel say on an interview in Ven. TV say that when he conducts Beethhoven he adds something Venezuelan to it. He does this as well when he conducts the Gothemburg SO, and interprets nordic composers like Nielsen.

  • @zyon18 Right you are... there's si much more to it, this is a grear example among many others!!

  • Comment removed

  • @zyon18 because this is not mexican music...

  • @JOEdoesThings22 because this is mexican music

  • @zyon18 ¬¬

  • @zyon18 that's right!!!

  • my band director just ordered this score, cant waiiit!

  • is going with my high school wind symphony to Michigan Music Conference and we are playing this song. this is possibly one of my favorite songs and i can't believe that i'm lucky enough to be in a band that's good enough to play music that makes people want to get up and cheer at the end, music that can pull the audience away from their uncomfortable auditorium seats and take them on a musical journey that only a song like this can provide.

  • @duhcornmaster piece.

  • @duhcornmaster I'm going with my band to Carnegie Hall Music Festival to play this. I hope we can pull it off, because this is a beautiful arrangement. Good luck to your wind symphany
