not bad, making faces is all a part of being a drummer. good drummers make faces haha. keep working out on those hats, great way to build up some endurance
Bouncing is something I tend to avoid now. I heard a story of Peter Erskine (from Weather Report; amazing drummer) getting on a guy's case for bouncing and for bouncing his hand in between notes on the ride cymbal to "keep time". He said that people should be able to keep time in his head, so that's just what I think is right for me. But of course, plenty of drummers do great without it. lol Just look at Travis Barker or Brett Reed.
Hey, thanks for the encouragement! Since I posted this, I have been practicing at control when playing eighth note runs on the hats, so my left hand doesn't flop around so much.
i dunno your drummin but i rekon your pulling the faces because it is hard to play the hats that fast maybe you should try to play both hands on the hats.
i was playing that song one hand but it gets hard after a while now i use both i rekon you shouild to.
Nah, I just pull those faces because i'm a dork lol. Well, it's been awhile since I posted this and I can play those eighth note runs on the hi-hat pretty easily now. It's all about building the chops on the wrists.
Well, if you payed attention to my reply to mellonymusic below, you'd already know that since my basement is being refurbished, there are horrible acoustics. So with that bad sound, I turned my drums down in the mix. So MY interpretation is hard to hear. Thanks for watching, anyways.
Yeah, I am sorry my drums are so low down in the mix. As you can see, my basement is in the middle of being refurbished. Bare walls and no carpet = horrible acoustics. Once it's done, i'll start adding videos on a (hopefully) regular basis, so everyone can criticize my DRUMMING instead of the video's audio lol :P
You seemed kinda tense in this one. Try to relax more. I knows it was two years ago, tho, so...yeah.
