that would be the guy from David Letterman, Paul Shaffer. I noticed it too about the note difference. maybe he tried to harmonize vut obviously it didn't work lol
just love them!!!the blues brothers is one of my favourite movies!!john belushi was amezing actor...dan is an amazing actor...together they were awe-fucking-some!!!!gotta luv blues brothers
u dont like the truth tho, do u. he was a very talented guy, but also a huge coke fiend. also speed, barb's and other up's he could get his hands on. otherwise he wouldnt have been doing cartwheels all over the place. i love john and jim belushi, plus a worship the blues bros., but i have 2 face the truth that john was a drug addict. pointless 2 deny it, or try 2 hide it. its a fact
john was very troubled, but his act had very little to do with his drug use...although most of the best stuff written on snl was when all the writers were high
just his hyperactivity and jumping around like a loon. ppl who r that overweight dont tend to be able to do cartwheels and all the things he did onstage for hours on end unless they r on some kind of uppers, which he was. i dont intend to take away from the mans genius, but the facts r the facts
Almost sounds like the horns are trying to make up the difference for the organ by going almost an octave higher. Well, my opinion anyway. The horns may have just changed the chart a little bit.
hammond organs tune off of the eliectric circuit. IF there was some problem with the power cycle on stage, the organ would go out of tune. MOst people that play Hammonds had to have a post factory power conditioner installed to avoid this situation.
THE ORGAN?!?!?! WOW NEVER SEEN THAT HAPPEN... well once when my school R&B band played it was on the wrong setting so the left hand was out of tune... CRAZY!!!
That's Paul Shaffer, musical director of the Late Show with David Letterman. I'm sure he knew what he was doing, obviously someone else messed up. The rest of the concert sounds great though.
RIP Alan Rubin

the hammond b3 organ uses 2 electric motors
the main one drives the tone generator
at a fixed mains current frequency. 60 hz in USA
the second motor brings the main motor up to speed.
what happened here was either mains frequency
was not 60 hz (bad on site power generator) or power was cut to the organ temperelley during performance without paul knowing.
when the main motor is powered up without using the second motor to bring it up to speed
it sounds a lot like this.
I hope this helps
mitzworld 3 years ago 5
you got that right...
if the hammond don't get the right ac power it plays in a different key..
i would have thought paul would have heard this and backed off though.

The Music = Amazing, almost as good if not better than the original.
The Movie = Sucked, for the most part.
