  • What is that green center thing for the flower? Thanks!

  • @derek1ee in the first picture? it's yellow polymer clay.

  • I agree with cabinmtngirl, please do a tutorial. there is enough room in the world for many artist. Great first video. You work is beautiful.

  • beautiful , you are an artist .....

  • Hmmm....lovely...informative...inspiring...

    Thank you (^.^)

  • wow, this is great work. wish you would do a tutorial video...I would love to learn how you did some of these.

  • @cabinmtngirl Glad you like the pieces, I am hoping to do a tutorial at some point. When I am more organised and have finished orders etc. :)

  • when it is ready does it feel like metal or like plastic with silver colour??

  • @krazyfrend It feels like metal because it IS metal, the end result is pure fine silver. Please google art clay silver which will tell you all about it.

  • nice work! can't even believe it's clay, it's so secure, i love it!

  • @catastrovision Thank you, it is only clay before it is fired and then turns to metai, pure fine silver :)

  • no sound :(. I checked to make sure that it wasn't my computer by listening to other youtube videos..sound is fine on all other. No sound on this one.

  • the leaves are just lovely! admirable work

  • @assa123assa123 Thank you! :)

  • ..continued..

and I also read somewhere that you can't fire clay that contains proceline, paper clay etc etc. So it seems there are a thousand things to be taken care of when you fire! any suggestions on what type of torch and metalclay I should go for? coz I've stated to fear what if I bought the wrong clay or torch?

  • @aniebally People that don't torch fire use a kiln like myself. Some pieces are too big to torch fire as there won't be enough heat. art clay silver is a brand which you can torch and any of the PMC works with a torch too.

If you are going to use a torch you can just use a normal butane gas torch. Hope this helps!

  • hey there! your peices are just great..love the 0:37 one.

I'm thinking of buying a torch and some metal clay. watched some videos here that confused me. it says there is a particular range of sizes and weight that you can torchfire, if the peice is bigger or smaller than those limits, you can't fire it!! what d'you do with it then?... continuing..

  • I love your creations, Lou! Great to "see" you here!

    Laurel

  • pretty work!

  • @magmoment Thanks :)

  • Pretty work.

  • Thanks for the help.

  • Lovely work. I'm just starting to learn. Do you use silver paste to attach the bail to the back of the pendant? What do you use to make your holes round? I've tried a coffee stir stick, but it didn't work to well.

  • @sueintexas Hi! If I have made my own bails then I use silver paste, sometime I buy the pure silver bails and attach them after the piece is fired with oil paste and then re-fire. If the hole is going all the way through I put an indent in the wet clay then once its dry I use a burr or a drill bit and turn it through the clay buy hand. Other holes that don't go all the way through I use small knitting/crochet needles and clay shapers, anything I can find really! :)

  • Love your finished products!!! This stuff is pretty awesome... I am stoked ta start learning how to use it!! Ur videos give great insite...THANK YOU Also... I was wondering if you could make a few finished products that are shiney?!?! Thanks

  • @weezy0237 Thank you!, yes you can make pieces that have a mirror finish, using a tumbler is the quickest way of you can sand and polish by hand by hand too.

  • Vow, those are really... really beautiful, I love your products.. cool and inspiring! It makes me want to learn how to make silver clay jewelry.

    Thanks!

  • @sbui66pip Thank you! you should definitely give it a go, its addictive!

  • Thanks very much. I have some old coppery coloured coated leaves (vintage brooch pins) I wonder what they used before the invention of the paste?

  • These are great...can I ask, can I use fimo, and is it possible to use a real leaf? Thanks X

  • my leaves are made from real leaves. They are painted in silver paste and then fired and the leaf disintegrates. You could try and press a leaf into fimo to see how much detail it picks up but I am not sure it would be as detailed as the silver.

  • Brilliant work! I have been thinking of making metal clay jewelry. Love the leaves!

  • thank you, leaves are always fun to make.

  • hey - nice work. good luck!

  • Thank you! :)
