You can pretty much get a secondhand mini for nothing now. Upgrade the microdrive to a compact flash card and replace the battery for half the price of a nano. The only drawback is no backlit screen... but it still works great=)
Actually I had a ipod Mini..sadly my passed away too. So last xmas I could have upgraded the hardware..but alas I just got a ipod nano (3rd gen I believe)
Creative Zen 4 GB, was only 80 bucks and that was 1 year ago price probably has dropped to 60 bucks now. Can hold Videos, Music and Pictures anything. Have some of your vids on it to n_n
i picked up an Ipod nano 4th gen last year because I lost my older nano. There wasn't much difference with it really other than the larger screen and "shake to shuffle" feature.
I used a 120 gig Ipod. It's great. I Have about 5K songs, on it even thought I've probably only REALLY listened to about 3/4ths of them. Nonetheless I love it.
My iPod Touch 8GB got stolen in my own house the other day ;[ Probably won't buy another media player in a long time, at the moment I'm just using a standard 8GB flash drive or my mom's iPod Touch but if I were to get a new one I'd be one of those Zune HDs :D.
I use some piece of crap jWin thing I bought for like $19. Holds like 2gigs worth of songs... Just note, the only time I ever use the thing is when I'm rinding my motorcycle, so it's no big deal for me.
It spaz out like... Sometimes the scroll bar doesn't work, it was say one song but be playing an other, the battery life will look like its dying even if I just charged it.
So its pretty glitchy at times but other then that I'm pretty happy with it.
I think the older iPods are a little better then the newer ones. My favorite was the iPod Video Classic(30GB)
my mini died years ago! now i use my american cell phone (until i can get an iphone), i have an 8gb micro SD card in it which holds enough tunes for me. :)
I AM MAD AS HELL...I BOUGHT A NANO A MONTH AGO AND LO' AND BEHOLD, THE NEW NANO COMES OUT!!!!! Before the Nano, as a teenager in the 90's I was glued to my Walkman, CD player...Awesome memories ^U^
A Sansa & an LG...no thrills mp3 players. I like them coz I can just connect them to the pc & they come up as external storage in my (any) computer without extra software installed. Then its simply copy paste music onto them. The LG is slightly better, coz it doesn't need an extra cable to connect usb. It just pops out from under a cap. I saw a fairly small 8gb video/music advertised the other day for $60. I might grab one of them : )
I'm using the previous gen ipod and of course my iphone. That's pretty much how i rock out. i did have a nano but i had way to many songs and i'm one of those peeps that have to have their whole collection with them. So i gave that one to my bro.
i use the ipod nano 1st generation i think thats wat it is the one that is onlu white and is very rectangly with a silver back............IT SUCKZ the battery dies very fast
Got a cheap 2GB ChaiPod from an eBay seller in Hong Kong. Battery lasts for about 7 hours on continuous play on a single charge. It's probably a POS compared to the brand named ones, but hey it gets the job done.
i got the iphone the cool thing is that when i dont want to listen to the stuff i got on the phone i can just go to Pandora and pick something new and i got a second gen 2G i pod nano as well but thats for camping and doing stuff like that
lol still old school here,cd player LOL but those music players like the mini and i pod cost to much for me and my house payment is and will always come first.
I actually still have my 1st-gen iPod mini, and it still works lol, but currently I use one of the newer iPod Classics as I have A LOT of music and stuff I like to carry around :P
i heard apple already has the next 20 generation ipods ready and made and will release them one after the other. that is how they make money, the world of capitalism. i mean cmon, y couldnt they put a video camera on the first ipod nano, its not something that hard to think about. and not everyone is goin crazy over the camera, even tho most ppl who will buy the new nano will have a cell phone which will have a camera. waste of money and mistreatment by big corporations
i use my phone to play my music when am going around. its a nokia n96, which has 16gb memory, and very usfull for both pictures and music, and it has a 5megapixil camra, so am happy all around :)
I have a third gen ipod nano and a first gen ipod touch. The touch has pretty bad battery life so I used it primarily as a conversion calculator and an alarm clock. I think that the third gens were the least popular because of their shape. I rarely see them.
I am dying to buy a new nano! I am looking my hands away though so that I don't buy one because mine does still work.
Mostly, my computer. When it has come to portable MP3 playing in the past, I've used a CD Walkman (with MP3 CD support) and then my Playstation Portable.
I'm in the process of trading some stuff to a friend for his 80GB fifth gen iPod, since he has an iPhone that he uses. I'm considering an iPhone myself, but not until I get to Japan.
ipod touch. I took four 18 hour flights and one 15 hour flight in the course of six months and realized that neither the movies nor the music on airplanes were particularly high quality. I had several more long flights coming up along with a lot of time spent on buses so I realized that I had to get something to maintain my sanity.
80G iPod Classic. I forget what gen. it is. I would like to upgrade to the iTouch, but refuse to do so, until my current player dies. Which I don't foresee happening anytime soon.
I have either a Ipod Touch *cough*1st*cough* gen :P Or a Ipod Classic 6th gen. Sometimes I cant be bothered with the touch screen. My girlfriend has an ipod shuffle & then complains that its shuffled & she cant see whats on.
