it is the people that cause the fires! I know how bad it is getting over there but most of these wildfires are caused by those who can not control there small fires when the either burn trash or when camping. Some of these people even starts fires just to see what will happen. It is sad that people can not see what damange can be caused by this.
There are people who want to turn over health care to government control. To those people I would point to the BMV, the post office, public (government) schools, and the bad policies that made this fire so much worse than it should have been.
The fires are so catastrophic now because we suppressed fires so harshly that the fire fuel loads built up. There is so much fuel in our forests now, the fires burn larger & hotter than they would've if we'd let them burn naturally, a bit at a time. They burn into the canopies where they would normally burn along the ground. Stand-replacing fires are good for forest ecosystems, but first we need to reduce fuel loads so fires can burn w/out causing such unnaturally large fires.
