I have a question for you, since I am Canadian and living in America and have never been to Britiain: why is it that most British people like people from Liverpool? I'm just curious as to why that is.

The tendency with England is the south are 'cold and 'unfriendly' because we (im from London) perhaps are more affluent/posh (generally) Liverpool (the north) is really defining the cheeky chappy working class, & their accents are endearing & generally Northerners especially scousers have a reputation of being friendly & likeable.

I personally love Liverpool its got so much character. I'm a big Liverpool FC fan (soccer team) they are loved around the world because of some of these qualities.

that's not _completely_ true, liverpool has is great aspects as Barbarash said, and yes, northeners do appear to be more friendly and many many people glory support the football team due to past sucesses, but liverpool is just as often viewed with negativity, i am not saying its justified, but there is a stereotype that scousers (people from Liverpool) are thieves etc and often is used as an insult eg "you thieving scouse bastard" etc, look at LiamLeedsPs3s comment below for example :)
