  • Mitt Romney said corporations are people and we need them. I tend to think not, I believe people are capable to work for themselves. More rights to the individual will open up all kinds of jobs, small business and trading.

  • Maybe corporations should die every 70 years.

  • @inquisitum I would not be opposed to such a bill...I would not be opposed if their charters were allowed to expire every 10 years...

  • YES!!! Abolish "Corporate Personhood" and ban corporations from politics... the population of our country isn't even aware they have been bought.

  • Nice to their slaves!?

  • @onlyredknows yea.. just because you own slaves doesn't mean you have to beat and rape them all day.. doesn't mean you cant get to know them, to respect them as people (if they think the same for you) to treat them well and not make them sleep outside

  • "we had tea and coffee and they had lunch on our lawn" - makes me proud to be British :')

  • the labour of the poor being the mines of the rich - marx

  • I'm sure that must have been a letdown for the earth firsters. They do the demonstration at his country home, whistling wind and tumbleweeds, nobody there... [crickets chirping] Aw goddamnit.

  • Greed is the new dominant species that will takeover the world.

  • Give it a little more time, the whole corrupt system is going to collapse :) well I can hope.

  • these corporations are fucking disgusting, like the big banks, ,just this week

jp morgan gave the largest donation in history to the NYPD over 100 million dollars, to get rid of the protesters ,the 99%ers that are part of the occupy wall st protest, who IMO need to get more organized and start making some real demands,so if not the ceo,cfo ,coo ,then whos descision at jp morgan was it to give that donation to the NYPD? this part is just nuts ,of course the people working for them are accountabl

  • g everything from your local court house and police stations to the supreme court and the fbie cia ,nsa and other federal buildings, and the media, and their buiddings, enough is enough there needs to a day where all citizens organize and storm all these institutions and occupy them these corporatoin have bought, own & taken control of our media and our government, people need to wake up right now and take this shit back before we are reduced to 3rd world banana republic and are all slaves, more so

  • people who are occupying thses cities and wall street right now ought o go to grenich CT and other gated communities where these fat cat hedge fund managers live and start occupying their mansions and looting them , they should be forced to sign their wealth away occupy the capital building and whitehouse and the state capital buildings and govenors mansions, and the fed ,kick out all these politicians by forcecia and fbi headquaters too every citizen should take to the street and start occupyin

  • i have seen 3 and 4 yo children being put on heavy antipsychotics like rispiidol and haldol as well as a whole cocktail of ssri and a-typicals as their called, these drugs have serious side effects from stunted growth, to liver and kidney damage to tartive diskensia (invoulantary ticks twitches or movements and grimaces)ive seen it 1st hand these corporations are so unimagineably evil

they want to poison the children and numb out and dumb down the adult population so there is no resistence to

  • up with new drugs so they can continue to gouge us for their poison, since they are forced to make their patents public so competitors can make generic versions and insurance will not pay for their version when generics become available ,now they have put in the literature that any child 18 months or over be screened for depression and bipolar everytime their parent takes them to their pediatrician for any reason at all, a cold, an ear infection, whatever, its sick, these people are criminals

  • n again in the 90's ,this stuff is garbage and everyone is on it, if you do research you will find that every one of the school shooters from the 90's were on these drugs, and now that the pattents have expired they have stop fighting the black labels being put on them, now they have changed their literature to recomended heavy antipsychotics instead, which are much worse and have horrible side effects,to be perscribed for depression and bipolar, once the pattents run out on drugs they have to come

  • oil, an industry who spend the second most money on lobbyists 2nd only to big oil, figure it out yet? its big pharma, both klebold and harris were on SSRI antidepressants, michael moore owns quite a bit of stock in these companies from what i have heard too,it was know since the early 70's these meds cause suicidal and homicidal thoughts and actions, its where the term "going postal" came from ,from postal workers on prozac going on homicidal rampages, that why it was pulled back then, only to retur

  • happened , he wen on blamed kmart for selling bullets while claiming he is for the nra, he showed that all the other countries have guns and violent video games and movies and media, and says what is different in the US, but henever makes the connection to what it is instead he cops out and goes to mart to make them stop selling guns and ammo, while giving the real culprits a total pass, who am i talking about you ask?here is a hint ,it is the biggest most profitable industry in the world behind

  • redistribute the remaining wealth and power from the poor and middle class to the top 1% of elites and to tax and control everything you do ,like the water privitization scheme in this doc, next it will be every breath you exhale they want to tax us to death, carbon credits and cap and trade will be the biggest tax on humanity ever ,and michael moore is a hipocrite too, he completly ignored the real cause of columbine massacre in his film bowling for columbine,he pretended to not know why it happ

  • and corporations polluting and destroying the enviornment, but lets not get confused here, cause the whole CO2 ,cap and trade global warming thing is a scam, its an agenda to tax us all and to help set up world currency and government, and royal dutch shell owned by queen beatrix of the netherlands, a hig up bilderberg member is part of this agenda, if its so great then why do they call cap and trade a "scheme" in their own internal documents, because that is exactly what it is a scheme to redi

  • though this is a good documentary & i highly recomend watching it, it is still studded with propaganda like this part, like we are to believe the ceos have nothing to do with the descisions of a corporation,&their analogy is bogus too, distinguish betewwn slavery and slave owners my ass, the slave owner is still guilty , if he didnt own the slaves there wouldnt be slavery, and the whole enviornmental and "sustainability" is probably more part of their propaganda agenda too, im against pollution &

  • Jehovah

  • hates corporate america they destroy collectible signages pokemon, others that collectors like myself are willing to lug to their homes

  • hates corporate america

  • @thepunkpilot

A corporation isn't fisically a person, it's not a living thing, it's a building and machinery. You can't sue a pirce of concrite or put it in jail, but according to the law, the corporation IS a person. Nothing hapens to the people who run it because, the corporation (an unanimated piece of concrite, which you cant put in jail) is guilty, this means that the people can do what they want or at least they feel like that.

  • Shell is evil. Period.

  • Idk y this corporation keeps asking for money

  • Friedman is a retard! A corporation is made up of a board. A board is made up of people...people that should be morally conscious about what they are doing. To say that you can't hold a corporation responsible is a lie at best.

  • @thepunkpilot right? that guy doesnt know what he talkin about. plus the stockholders make the decisions, then tell the boards of directors, then the CEO, CFO, etc.

  • @thepunkpilot he is speaking of it in legal terms.

  • @jalriteythen not only in legal terms, he says more than that.

  • milton friedman... also the man

  • Now, go WATCH CORPORATION NATION. This is nothing.

  • Education is the most imporant institution humanity has ever created yet nobody values intellectualism. More is spent on influence by advertising then informing by education and art and with that realization and steady growth generations to come will be doomed to zombie like states of ignorance... When i decide to have a kid, i will probably home school him if this b/s keeps up because politics & education equates to conformity and never reality awareness.

  • wait- who was hanged for opposing dutch shell???

  • I'm amazed at how many people here demonise the CEOs and the people in the corporation, when even this documentary is pointing out they are just like us, but the way a corporation works almost forces the worst of human nature to come out.

I would have expected better from a crowd watching a film like this.

  • that woman has one creepy voice

  • I'm afraid of anything I put in my mouth. Feel guilty about everything I wear.

  • Shell CEO. What a wanker. Anyone ever see the ad on CNN which shows green fields and hills and sea with a voiceover about caring for the environment and then at the end comes the logo SHELL. Liars, wankers, evil bastards.

  • People create companies to make money not charity paychecks. Be thankful you have a job while you do or find other work. Or start your own company and give all your money away. Michael Moore makes shock videos to make money he doesn't care if facts are invovled. He just want you sheeple to buy it no matter how ludacris it is.

  • @stoltzmans this isn't a Michael Moore film, there are prominent businessmen in this documentary telling you the system can't work long-term, wake up

  • Oh poor millionaire billionaire CEO. Let's all feel sorry for them they really cant be blamed for all the lay offs They really have no power. Give me a fuckin break

  • I blame everything on the shareholders. Shareholders invest millions into a business, to get an x percentage of profits, and need to make their profits back. The message is PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT, so that the company has to do what is "profitable" instead of what is ethical, so the CEO is a puppet being pulled on strings, because it doesn't want to go out of business.

  • A new Soulja boy music video has four million views and this hasn't even broken 150k after being out for three years.

You can't comedy this good. We are so screwed it's hilarious.

  • The state makes open offers, to all those who would suck their brothers blood.

"come and work for us, if you want to have "trinkets" and "clothes". All you have to do, is hit your neighbour, with a stick".

And MILILIONs, flcok to the call.

What a terrible world, at its core.

No wonder Jesus said "You cannot serve God and Mamonn".

To get money, jou MUST be cruel. If you refuse to be cruel, you WILL be a victim, of those who will.

This is a SICK planet !

  • When he said anyone of us are capable of being a gas chamber attendant or saint it really rubbed me the wrong way. I would kill myself before becoming a gas chamber attendant. How could ANYONE do that? You would have to either be mentally incapacitated in some way or a sociopath. How could you live with yourself? Really? God, most people just follow orders thats whats fucked up! People do as they are told and thats the scariest thing about the retarded human race.

  • wtf...these activist are funny. You guys came there to make them feel sorry not for story time and tea. damn british activist.

  • @catch22af ROFL it was pretty funny. Though the guy was smart, he fought their hatred well because he knew they hated him because they saw him as an indistinguishable part of a evil corporation, so he acted as humanly empathetic as possible to show the individual side.

  • That Shell owner was .. that was pretty interesting

  • Ironically, they show GM ads during this video

  • As stated earlier in the film the corporation is "legaly bound" to hold it's interest above everything else

  • Senatus bestia senatori boni viri

    Senat the beast,senators good people

    latin proverb 300 BC

  • It's funny when you think about it. Corporations make plastic cups, for instance - making the cups depletes resources and pollutes the world. They market the cups to everyone as necessary to a happy life. We buy the cups, then see segments on the six o'clock news about how WE'RE responsible and should 'go green' and stop destroying the world.

It's the greatest, most successful blame shift in history.

  • It is all good and fine to blame capitalism for the way CEOs behave at their jobs. And I understand that the system is set up so that they (CEOs) as people cannot have a free hand in the actions of their company, BUT do they have to award themselves incredibly large bonuses? Does anyone deserve to award themselves hundreds of millions of dollars a year in compensation? Does this not indicate that they, as people, are just as much to blame for this psychopathic selfishness?

  • If the Corporation is a person, you can also apply what Jesus would say...it is not what goes in a man but what comes out that defiles.

  • This is important to note. The realization that a single person does not hold or yield the power to cause issues of unemployment, pollution, fraud, etc. The CEOs are easily and always replaced. Money motivates some, power others and a few want to do good. But, the hierarchy which is comprised of entities which envelope the human race control everyone and everything that does not link it self to the ultimate authority (GOD) and also willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for what is right.

  • 4:37 Prepare for bullshit...I hate this guy. CEO Pig

  • CEOs and can be seen as victims of the corporations they serve because they are required by contract to do what is most profitable--even if it goes against their morals. Unless they happen to own enough shares to out vote any other group of share holders in the company, they are just another employee.

If we abolish "Corporate Personhood" and ban corporations from politics, we can get laws in place to prevent them from being forced to make decisions against their conscience.

  • @wbaltzley And I guess slave masters were victims of slavery? Get real!

  • @MPArmstrong84 George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both owned slaves, and both fought for abolition at the Constituional Congress...There were abolitionists who inherited slaves who would have considered themselves victims of the system...Slavery harmed EVERYBODY...

  • @wbaltzley You can NOT be serious. So that means a pedaphile that fights for children's rights is a victim of child abuse? I've heard a lot of really terrible arguements about slavery, but seriously, this is the worst. Yeah, there were abolitionists who inherited slaves, and guess what... They FREED THEIR SLAVES. And the fact that Washington freed his on his death bed holds NO weight! Also, you might wanna read what Jefferson actually said he would do with freed slaves. geez!

  • @MPArmstrong84 Pedophilia is not an established Social Institution, as was Slavery, a better comparison would be a police officer that is forced to arrest a close friend, or a member of his own family...

Please do not over-dramatize your argument, and if you have information to share then SHARE IT. Quote Jefferson on slavery and provide a reference...

  • my eyes are wide open now they are using us the truth is now plain to see

  • Amen to that Avaliz. I've just started buying silver because it's so much cheaper than gold but the answer is so much easier than just that. And we have a responsibility to our fellow man to teach them the truth about who they really are. They make us slaves to them and make us think they're doing us justice when it's really justUS they're saying.

  • Don't let the feminists see her getting coffee for those guys...

  • chill out mark akbar ive bought it

  • YOU are the king , YOU are the slave.

  • The banks run the corporations. The banks are the problem. The board of directors of both are interconnected.

  • Chomsky is the man.

  • History and education enable us, the modern man, enough exposures and knowledge to understand many things, please don't let textual laws to hide our responsibilities to other human beings and our living environments. We need perceptional evolution. Don't hide, use our mind, and be honest, lets talk and understand our situations. Why we should kill the nature just because someone in us hates it?

Strangely, why did we kill others because they count one lesser or more God? Just because of value?

  • Silver and Gold would become single point of failure. We should hide the fact we, as individuals or a group of individuals, have to take responsibility of actions. Using money, silver, or gold to hide ourselves from necessarily consequences is self defeating. Should a king kill everything he cannot control? When he does, can he take responsibility of what he destroyed? Can he hide his responsibility from his title we give him?

  • with regards to the part of the constitution that states what real money is please see, Article 1 section 10 and not article 4 mentioned earlier. I do apologize for the mistake.

  • "Section 10 - Powers prohibited of States

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque

and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin

a Tender in Payment of Debts..."

I find the wording to be somewhat peculiar. Was this done to prevent the individual states of the U.S. from printing their own money? The way it's written implies to me that the federal govt didn't want individual states doing so.

  • it simply means the currency used are fiat reserve notes and are not real money cos any thing besides Gold or Silver coin is prohibited by the U.s constitution. Which is how smart people avoid taxes. Lemme give you some keys to beat the IRS. First thing you must realize is they are de facto and in allegiance with Rome. U.S.A is a corporation not a country. So if the constitution has proved that currency notes are not money why do u pay IRS when u have no money? or do u have gold or silver coins?

  • @Avabz

why do you think of gold and silver as 'real money'? They also have weaknesses, just like fiat currency, which IS real money by the way.

  • @Avabz So is this why people are always saying to invest in Gold? Are all of these trade your gold in for cash businesses all pretty much a scam then?

  • @imALLn no they are not a scam, they are just getting ready for the reccession, they are just using the lure of cash, paper notes which are worthless to get your gold which is worthfull....so the a swindling you but you are not aware, so its not a scam it just a business proposition which you lose if you give them your gold, like every other bad bargain in history.

  • Love your work machbar..and I bought the DVD. Best programme I have watched.

  • Kronan U are a level headed Slave and you are most likely of eastern european descent, the real first slaves to the germanics. First and foremost fiat reserve notes are not money. Read the Us constitution article 4 where it states that money is only in the form of silver & gold coins the alkemikal metals of the moon & sun respectively. Your name has certainly got a euro origin so you are in corpus jusris prudence. So u have a bond to ur name since 1 of ur ancestors was a slave. This is love.

  • the only scumbag here is you and the only propaganda is your agenda. you can't prevent the world from being liberated so take your demon-ism and shove it up your god's ass

  • Modern slavery means the person's work force is paid as a product, nothing else. Humans now have become a mean to obtain profit for others. No internal potential is developed through a daily activity, but people are only tools for those who own the capital, ergo, the power. A little bit unfair, don't you think?

  • I freelance & make my own living under my own terms & exercise my free will to work with whomever and where ever I choose. Also you might say working 16 hours a day for 75$ in one of the most expensive cities in America or 100$ for an 18 1/2 hour day is illegal. But I do it all the time & don't complain. I live my life. So what the hell really are you saying. A little bit unfair, so's the weather, what lame ass ideal diluted utopia you live on? Tell me you work for a living right? A tool ? Idiot

  • It's your choice not to complain, to banalize the situation, to call any critical argument a "lame ass ideal diluted utopia". Finally, your decision to be raped in the ass by the good men in Armani suits on a daily basis. Feel free to be an idiot (for real). Nobody will force you to.

  • I'm not going to debate with you. I don't know you. The life you're describing as "banal" doesn't describe me. I genuinely have more freedom than most Americans. I've chose my path wisely. I also edited for broadcast news for 2 years under NBC and seen the raw tapes from war torn countries and stock exchanges and know this documentary is being manipulative. I am not being raped by corporations. I choose what I buy very carefully. You don't need to respond. Trust me I'm not worth it. :)

  • I wasn't trolling, just making a point. No problem. Peace.

  • It's all good :) Peace.

  • As I keep watching this, i feel like tearing up and puking alternately

  • All this is complicated multi-level deception spanning many decades of modern US/World history. In the center you have greedy financial interests of US and international bankers.

Average people are simply paid slaves who, however, can not buy anything from iPod to house without credit or loan. Average people are lied to about everything all the time!

I dont know where you start fixing things. But I believe we are approaching some culminating point. Something big is coming.

  • @ComancheChiefSD There is a growing movement underway right now to pass a Constitutional Amendment to abolish "Corporate Personhood" and ban corporations from politics. You can find more information at Move to Amend (dot) Org.

  • Resist the NWO agenda, grow a herb/veg garden

  • @ComancheChiefSD I breath a sigh of relief, maybe a naive one, that this has only been going on a short time. And already it is reaching boiling point...so I feel like thats in someway reassuring.

  • @ComancheChiefSD Cool story bro.

  • milton friedman the malicious greedy fascist

  • zephyrcoco,

I did not state that corporations are entity's other than legal fictions.

The sign of psychosis just fits a corporation to a 'T'...

Man (lawyers) love to play the game of 'word art' where, only they claim to understand what the legalese means that they so eloquently spew on a continuous basis.

A great many of man's corporations float like shit in a huge toilet and the red assed monkey's running them love playing voodoo in their doo-doo creating word disease viruses to sink the serfs.

  • I am sick of people who should enjoy these movies (and still probably do) but feel the need to pick them apart... even eventually end up hating them. Its because as soon as you idiots feel your not on the fringe anymore you'll buy into negativity towards it just like your negative about the things you really should be negative about. You'll then quote things you learnt from it, but when some1 asks you about it, you shun it, sad really

  • A corporation = a psychotic entity.

A corporation does not and can not experience emotional reactions to words. The sign of psychosis.

According to a recent study at the University of Cardiff, Wales.

  • My computer can't experience emotional reaction to words. Neither can my car. A corporation then also doesn't have a mentality, the requirement for psychosis. If you do say that a corporation has a mentality, then you have realized that it comes from the people who run it. Therefore the people who make up the corporation are psychotic, not the entity itself. Though I realize the damage corporations have done, don't try to sucker-punch them in a cool and falsely logical way.

  • if that shell oil sir moody ass hole caired so much for the environment then he would not be plundering the earths resources.

  • JFK was assinated because he set up the works to abolish the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK CORPORATION, Obama signed a blank check to them his first day in office without even reading the legislation look it up! we better do something quick!

  • AGREED.... JFK was a visionary ! And not for the reasons that anyone may think.

  • How did Oswald know JFK was trying to abolish the control the fed held over the US?

  • very to the point!

  • People also get laid off because of the mechanization of production of physical and non physical wealth...Technology is GREATLY increasing this. Therefore, Slave wages(service jobs) are greatly increasing along with diminishing purchasing power of lower classes.Growing debt is needed along with growth. There is no conspiracy of globalization, It's just the next logical "fix", like an addict. But it will fail, and there will be no "world takeover", Most likely civil war. But there Are solutions

  • @GiveItOrLoseIt

Mechanization doesn't cause long term unemployment..it create more wealth. To claim otherwise is economic stupidity.

  • how much energy are we all spending watching this documentry on our pc's? made possible by the wonderfull youtube corporation.

  • my friend... i think u are beeing extremist whit this opinion...

  • Am I? I thought I was being witty...

  • and the energy conducted on chips produced in filipino sweat labs.lol.

one thing i will say, theirs no escuse for killing the planet for things we definatley dont need..cosmetics is one..the sheer amount, choice, packaging &highly toxic chemical waste produced by those pointless things is a polluters nightmare ..

xmas decorations, excessive home renovations, nylon hold up stockings(which use thousands of chemicals to make, and are used handful of times befor they ladder), disposable diapers..

  • corporate ethics? oxymoron!

  • Nature...does not only allow all sorts of behavior, it endorses specific behavior. Whether in the animal kingdom, where animals fight for territory, fight for mates, and eat eachother, or the nature of the world made by "humans" per se, where greed, corruption, hatred...where EVIL is endorsed, supported, and rewarded. Flesh and blood humans are warm bodies. They need something to run it. What runs it determines what that person will eventually be. Evil, or not. Straight from the source.

  • I understand the filth and shady practices that go hand-in-hand in the corporate world. However, these practices come from people, not the system per se. Capitalism isn't intrinsically wrong, greedy acts are. I actually believe "less is more" when it comes to extra legislation. As scary as industrial power can be by itself, our society won't be better off if we add incompetent and unaffective government into the recipe.

  • I must disagree with you. Capitalism is really a fundamental justification for greed. Of course, it takes people to make it happen, just like cogs in a machine. However, the cogs can only spin in the direction they were designed to, or they break.

There is little evidence to say that private (as opposed to Public sector) companies are any more efficient than government agencies. People tend to talk about "incompetent and unaffective government", but few stop to think about it. It's a cliche.

  • Government is indeed incompetent in doing business. but governemnt must be competent in dispensing justice. Unfortunately, that is the one that government fared even worse. I'm for capitalism and limited government but I'm definitely against big business because big business and big government are the same. They simply change the term but the ill effects are the same. Monopoly capitalism is as evil as socialism because the are both controlled by the same people.

  • Good point. Now THIS is actually an object, thought-out comment.....not the typical Spencer's Tee-shirt slogan that most here are throwin' out.

  • So are you for one world government? capitalism is much worse than you might imagine, based upon what it does to instinctive perception in people being blinded by progress and always furture prosperity. Inflation is the devils device, obviously inflation creates these bubbles, Economy isthe whipping post of humanity to move socialistic agendas towards a serveilience society, I say give me liberty or give me death... Neo, har har people need to stand up to the machines...

  • we must guard ourselves against any form of centralization of government. one world government is also another form of centralization and we must be aware of the evils of OWG. Look at these huge bailouts, they are meant to centralize the society. What we need if freedom, whether its religious, civil, political or economic freedom. And whether we like it or not, capitalism and free trade is the only form of economic freedom wherein one can do woth his money without threats from the government.

  • "What we need is freedom.." "wherein one can do with his money". typo error.

  • It seems to me that capitalism and free trade is the fertile soil from which these evil corporations grew. Capitalism breeds competitiveness. In competition there is always a winner and a loser. This thinking is the root of the problem.. in my humble opinion

  • why should you think that in competition, there must be a winner and a looser. have you thought for a moment that in that way, the ultimate winner is the market or the ordinary people? but its true that big corporations grew from capitalism, but eventually they practice monopoly capitalism that is very much opposite to a competitive capitalist model.

  • but i also believe that we are living in a cycle. big corporations grew from a competitive environment but eventually, because of their enormous wealth and power, they veer away from the very principles that made tham rich and prosperous. Its human nature that when we achieve a degree of success, we want more and by that nature we veer away from the values that made us successful.

  • By definition something competed for is attained by one and not the other. If ordinary people are the winner then there wouldn't be a problem would there. However the corporation is the winner at the expense of the people that the corporation should truly be serving. I see what your point is, but I disagree that the theory of competitive captilaism can lead anywhere else but where it has.

  • @WillWork4Food89

//There is little evidence to say that private (as opposed to Public sector) companies are any more efficient than government agencies//

lol, Research the Calculation problem and come back and try to claim that.

  • kiddie porn makeing them two kids kiss like that

i would have them protestors arrested

  • This is a sweet documentary, congrats on getting noam chomsky to appear on it he is the man

  • Hope you get to see the other film I worked on featuring Noam, "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media". Available from thecorporation (dot) com

  • @machbar Very nice video and I enjoyed the promo trailer.

  • Shareware, not freeware. There's a difference. The corporate structure was imposed by Canadian funding agencies. You can't qualify for funds unless you're incorporated. The company is private, not publicly traded. If you support the film, support the filmmakers and other crew who share revenues. We all have bills to pay and want to keep making films. Where's the shame in that? Thanks for the support.

  • You are very respected for passing this information to the public! Thank you very much. Canadians......the americans are looking, listening, and learning!

  • *ᴥ*

  • @machbar -just earning a living like everyone else, yup, so what's the next entity that you'll focus your keen sights on, yup, earn that living.

  • Simply best and thanks for the information.

  • @travel2mark

You're offended by the man trying to get paid for his excellent work? Leveraging moral superiority for power to scold is not the same as being moral.

  • And corporations are laughing in your face and saying, wtf do you plan to do about it? NOTHING. That's right, there's nothing you CAN do about it. They own f*cking everything.

  • Hey, was that Milton Friedman!? I guess he never heard of Stanley Milgram. Or lived on this planet. Weird. Why is he thought to be so smart, again?

  • Wow. If you're brave, go into a ghetto with a sign complaining about the murderers. Try to have a dialog with them. See if they offer you tea.

  • Why do you keep saying this? You think evil people gravitate towards ghettos? Do you not recognize that creating ghettos and creating unchecked power has the same effect on people - disregard for their fellow man?

  • Do you not hear yourself saying a person can have an excuse for hurting other people? I grew up poor and never used it as an excuse to hurt other people. What of all the poor ppl who don't make excuses for hurting other ppl? What is more insane that saying anyone can have an excuse to hurt other ppl? Where are you getting your notions; just off the top of your head? I'm freaking out, here.

  • No, I don't hear myself saying that. I hear myself saying that there's evil everywhere, and making people unreasonably poor and rich brings out the worst in them. If you are upset about how people in poor neighborhoods behave, think about the rich people who engineered that situation. They are the ones with the greatest power over what's happening.

  • No one is making anyone behave badly. There's no excuse for hurting other people. There is never an excuse for hurting other people. Only a sociopath or the shallowest chump would keep insisting they can have an excuse for hurting other people.

  • Are you so fixed in judgement that you can't recognize influences? "Excuses" and "making" is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the real world, where we are influenced by our environments.

Are you so pure that nothing could corrupt you, not even when you were a child? Hell no, you aren't. People develop, learn. Judging them doesn't help you understand why, it's just a cheap dodge of your responsibility.

  • I grew up poor and in a house with abusive parents. So did a lot of other people. They aren't jerks or sociopaths.

Could you at least try to construct more coherent sentences? After all, I am giving you the time of day, here. That wouldn't happen in RL.

  • Prayfertrey, go back to RL then. Don't pretend you are doing me a favor by posting replies that dodge or restate my questions.

  • What could have had more influence on you than what you spent your entire childhood doing, from age 5 to 18 and perhaps beyond, being told what to think and when to think it? How could you have more influence on an organism!? But it's all you've known, so you don't know the difference, so you don't suspect there are deep, machined grooves and stamps in your tissues... The changes called for in this doc. don't usher in the future; unschooling parents do.

  • Corporations, like Frankenstein, the Tin Man and robots, are based on the GOLEM of the kabbalah: a body without a soul.

  • Who is the Government? We are. Who are the Consumers? We are. The Government created the Corporation and we supported it. Now, the Corporation IS the Government and it wouldn't have any power unless we "depended" on it's product.

  • we are the goverment in theory and theory only. at least recently that is. corporation is creating goverment thru lobbyist...

  • Correct. We can only vote for the right candidate. Even if the candidates who are capable of winning are sometimes compromised. But that's because they have no choice other than compromise something for something more gravely important. Hillary Clinton has to be diplomatic. She is not even compromising. She has to speak more conservatively. That's all. If she did not do that she would be cast out before the competition even started.

  • we are possibly never going to exit this second medievil age with profit replacing religion.hopefully the filmakers and people like micheal moore, schluss, chumsky etc. are the ringers in for the second rennaisance!!!!!!

  • hey heres a question why is the director asking for money?isnt money supposed to be evil

  • You're damn right Mbowster. But the problem is image. People will either instinctly side with the government because of loyalty or because "freedom of speech" comes into play if you just blame the corporation, but if you blame the government you are harrassed and spat on. Thats the way people are purposely or by accident, its not about who is guilty its about who can be blamed and "found guilty" the easiest.

  • This documentary is similar to Michael Moore's in the sense he manipulates his information to seem more extreme than it actually is. But yes corporations are fuckin evil as hell everything would be better off with the necessities that produce life ie water, trees which produce oxygen so we can live. humans suck as a species.

  • Noam works for the government on the low.... The are all in on it.

  • Noam is an anarchist and a life-long critic of the abuses of power. The idea of him working "for the government" is about as far from the truth as you could get. I trust you were being ironic.

  • It's funny how the most insightful interviewees in this documentary are the CEOs, rather than the rent-an-opinion hacks like Chomsky. In fact this whole documentary is a paradox.

  • What do you mean by "rent-an-opinion"?

  • Bought it too! Imagine.

  • The infamous hanging of MOSOP leader Ken Saro-Wiwa and nine other Ogoni leaders in 1995 were the result of actions from the Nigerian government not Shell.

How stupid to not see this. It is the government that kills, NOT corporations.

  • The point was that people were killed for acting out against the unethical practices of Shell.

  • Maybe, but the gov't did the killing and set up the regulations that drove/led Shell to its ends. Corporations are not evil, people are. And there is nothing more evil than the people in a corrupt gov't granting special priveledges to orgnaizations or groups, i.e. corporations, churchs, Unions, AARP, etc.

  • You're missing the point by a huge margin. Most governments are the tools of economic, particularly corporate, power.

  • No you're missing the point. A corporation cannot use the gov't as a tool until the gov't becomes corrupt. The problem starts with the gov't not the corporation.

The problem is the gov't. Blaming the corporation is like blaming water for flowing downhill.

  • You are absolutely correct that the REAL problem is government. Who set up corporate law in the first place? Who enforces corporate law? Who fails to take action when criminal activity does take place within a corporation? Who has failed to reform corporate law?
