Okay - I tried this receipe of tuna salad on top of my 'garden' salad... OMG you're sooo right.. I was raving about it to people at work. You really can NOT tell you don't have salad dressing on it!! wowwww... TFS!!
I actually detest avacados. I tried - I really did - to make my own guacamole & to like them but.. yuccckk..
nice salad with tuna you got there. is this sort of how you also get around eating those fatty but yummy salad dressings? other than Balsamic vinegar as a dressing, or EVOO + seasonings, do you any other ideas on substitutes for dressing?
@ibkristykat My base is usually using lemon or lime juice and then seasonings such as black pepper and sea salt. If it needs an added kick, I will top it with salsa too!
Kim - I do sort of the same kind of salads. Very healthy. Hey, I do not think that sea salt has iodine in it naturally though. Keep up the great videos.
@TheDJscrue Brown...white is refined and heavily processed, brown is usually whole grain. The key is to look for 100% whole wheat or whole grain. Thanks for the questioN!
I'm sitting here eating ghetto bachelor tuna salad made with a can of starkist, 2 hard boiled eggs, a lil parmesean (SP?) cheese, dash of garlic & since I'm outa mayo I had to use ranch dressing... hey it's nasty, but it's better then nothing, I bet yours is WAY yummier ;^p
thank you iloved how you explained everything, very helpfull didnt know what about the salt and always wonderd lo.l can i just ask if using onion is ok to use insted of celery?
I'm noticing in a lot of recipes that hummus is a replacement for mayo. I had a lentil burger at a resuturant and instead of mayo they had hummus. I love hummus and happy to know it can be mayo's replacement :)
@Loica I always use lemon juice, black pepper and sea salt as the base for my "dressing." You can experiment with different herbs and seasonings to find what you like best.
Thanks for inviting me; love this tuna recipe. Since I only eat fish in my diet, this is a great option for me to change things up. Never thought of putting hummus in it. Yum :)
@Bruce372 I love Giada too! Instead of the olives, use a little bit more avocado if you like that, otherwise throw in some nuts (not too many!). Instead of tomatoes, you could add in some raisins, salsa, or grapes. Sounds weird, but it would taste amazing-I promise!
When you mentioned Giada De Laurentiis' Avacado trick, you've won my credibility! x) Overall, I have been looking for some good receipes that will go great with my workout schedule. Tuna is one of my favorite foods but what other food items would you recommend to replace the olives and/or the tomatoes?

where did you get that storage container for your greens?
arsc311 8 months ago
@arsc311 HEB, which is a local grocery store in Texas. Try Bed, Bath & Beyond, and if they don't have one, let me know and I will find it.

@ArcheAudio Yes, salmon can be substituted for tuna-just avoid farm raised.
