  • Absolutely. I'd never thought of it that way. It explains why I like the book of John so much!!

    Great song, btw!

  • @doyoulikesprinkles It's a possibility. I wanted to show that every religion is actually based on love between the central figure and his or her unique Beloved, afterwards translated to the wider community by psychic resonance. But how would that person feel to have their Beloved turned into a sacrificial figure?

  • LOL. Maybe!

  • Erm, no. Might it have been that the cult of Jesus was much stronger later in his life and so he felt he'd have a go?! I knew him back when . . . etc. And who's the Victorian woman in the picture?

  • Back when?

The 'woman' is a variation of Leonardo's "John", who, some say, is depicted as being Mary Magdalene. The technicalities of story-telling are far too complex to discuss here, and as legends go, your version of it may also be true. But I know every "Jesus" comes with his "beloved John" (or Mary)... and that truth/emotion is what I was aiming at (opposite of the cult figure). "False Johns" come with the territory (karmic soulmate as opposed to true soulmate).

  • @billius Found some new info... I warmly recommend Deepak Chopra's book, The Third Jesus. Now, I wonder what you would do, if you were ultimately in love with a famous person, and that person died.
