Oh yes... the undead hordes did indeed walk the earth during this first set of missions on my PC. Zombies ghouls and wraiths... even gargoyles had a go!

The gameplay wasn't too great IMO, but damn, the artwork, music and atmosphere were so awesome! I wish I could get the music exactly the way it sounds in this video from somewhere. I only have some MIDI versions which sounds completely different. I may have to look into ways to record it in DOSbox myself one day.

Use CTRL+click!!! Guys, the most useful shortcut in game and nobody knows it? You don't have to click on every golem and then on their transfer button. You do that for only one and then you hold CTRL while clicking more golems and they repeat the same action. CTRL+click issues the same order to another unit. Also helps while attacking for example.

In it's time, it was such great game! However, games like Warcraft III, pointed out what this game lacks (my problem is with controls, and game flow -from present days' angle)

Anyway, thanks to Dosbox, I can play with this once, again, and the music.... the music is so good.

This is my favourite one. But in fact, its veeeery simple. All you have to do for win in spawn tons of basal golems and then you cant lose at any difficulty. Except the very last bonus mission(it means winning all those missions, then beat them again in one big following scenario) which i couldnt complete.

I have been dying to find a game like this with today's standards. I have tried Might and Magic (and its derivatives), Warcraft (new one is just too fast-paced for me), civ4 mods (FFH2), and many more, and have yet to find a game that entertained me as much as this one did.

I remember liking it so much. I played this on a Pentium 1 machine many years ago. I tried to play this on dosbox, but somehow if I play for a while, the saved games get corrupt, and always crash upon loading. :(

Personally, I think this is one of the best RTS games in the dos days. I find it better than the first Warcraft or Dune 2. Just my opinion.

I remember everyone on the dragonplay forums bashing this game. I almost bought it, since there was a demo on the Forgotten Realms Archives that came out in 97, but the backlash against the game was severe. Seemed no one liked it, so I never bought it.

Plus I was a grognard that wanted more turn based games.
