  • Holy shit that's Artie: The Strongest Man in the World!

  • I legitimately never knew the lyrics to the song until I saw this.

  • When MTV focussed on the 'M.'

  • ahh the days when mtv played music not just bullshit reality shows.....and i wasnt even around for those days :'(

  • hahahahahahahahahahha

  • I'm the WIZZ, and nobody beats me!!

  • This is absolutely hilarious. And that's a very good Sinatra impersonation.

  • Sinatra should have done "Jeremy" as a b-side. :P

  • a la Christopher Walken

  • pause at 0:00 look at bottom left quarter of screen

    FUCK YEAH!!!!!!! \m/

  • @jkol323: Panteraaaaaaaaaa

  • My favorite all time MTV commercial. This one and the "M-T-Blah" commercial. Funny. Station is a shit show now though.

  • that channel is totally ruined.

mtv had "alternative nation" in the early/mid 90's. that was the best program it ever had. pearl jam, nirvana, stp, all the great 90's bands.

and even farther back - i remember they actually played cool music videos! madonna like a virgin, michael jackson thriller, van halen 1984. man, i'm gettin old. that was the good shit! now it's a waste.

  • @avzeolla Do you remember 120 minutes on MTV? It made alternative nation look like TRL live. Hot for Teacher 4ever!!!

  • Whats funny is Sinatra had a #1 album out in 1994

  • Wow!!

    I forgot about these.

    Thanks for posting.

  • THAT COOK THAT NUT

  • >that feel when this is the same guy who did Artie the Strongest Man in the World and Cotton Hill.

  • Pearl Jam needs to cover Sinatra!!!! Summer Wind, My Kind Of Town, It Was A Very Good Year....Eddie covering the Chairman of the Board.....won't get any better than that

  • Oh my god I love Frank Sinatra and Pearl Jam this is awesome!

  • MTV did this?? naah I don't think so

  • @GOORVY nope.. they did.. I remember. ^_^ believe it or not .. at one time it didn't suck & they only had one channel.. not 5 like today.

  • Remember when MTV didn't suck?

  • Artie!!!

  • the new mtv is hip hop and electronic music i cant believe that shit jesus bring back the old mtv please

  • I have jsut rememberd this today, and thought I'd have a look for it. I saw it once before in 1994, and have rememberred it ever since. From when MTV actually did have music on it's shows. (The indy once was quite good as I recall,)

  • god, this is brilliant. hahaha

  • one night a man named Richard cheese is watching this at his home.

  • @nigrobat there was also a band called Big Daddy that was doing the "pop songs in a lounge style" thing around 1990

  • Ya can't shut him up! Lol

  • O.O

  • "Jeremy spoke in class today, that crazy kid."

yeah, shootin himself up in front of his english class. what a little rascal!

    kids will be kids, right?

  • @RhysieKup This is hilarious. I never really liked Sinatra's voice though.

  • just like Bizzy Bone with the drink in his hand...

    love love love

  • mtv needs regression therapy

  • So does Richard Cheese pay Toby royalties or what?

  • lol

back when mtv didnt suck balls.

  • The Wiz! Also was the voice of Cotton and Khan on King of the Hill.

Kinda funny, i guess, for MTV.

  • He is the Whizz

  • ROFLMFAO

  • DIEGOTOYA1 GOT IT RIGHT!!!!

"THE DAYS WHEN MTV DIDN'T SUCK"

    AMEN

  • That kook, that nut. ROFL

  • Over 15 yrs later and I still laugh my ass off over this

  • It's kinda funny, but they should have picked a song that wasn't about a kid blowing his brains out at school. Just saying. It's just a tad disrespectful/insensitive/ignorant. I get what they were trying to do though.

  • @atguitar1990 yep

  • @atguitar1990 Get over yourself!

  • the days when MTV didn't suck.

  • I bet you he got a bunch of death threats from pearl jam fans for effenup a good song.

  • I had completely forgotten about this. Thanks for posting a memory.

  • Fuck you frank senatra! You keep the same mellody to differant lyrics.

  • I use to love this guy. "Damn you bourbon, damn you straight to hell....well maybe not straight to hell GULP".

  • Holy shit! I remember the Frank Sinatra guy. He was hilarious. Who was he for real?

  • @deathofamailman Toby Huss. He plays Hank's grandpa on King of The Hill and he played Artie on Pete and Pete.

  • @SpamNapkin Thanks! I would have never put together that he's the same guy. Looks like he was also The Wiz on Seinfeld, too.

  • @deathofamailman Arnie from Pete and Pete on Nickelodeon. Can't remember his name but itsall I got.

  • Haha! I remember these clips..that dude ruled

  • this is terrible! they obviously don't get what the song Jeremy is even about. awful! just awful!

  • @iliketurtles1246 I agree, but people in suits never consider these things. They see it as a song that gave them problicity in 1992, and thought it would do the same 2 years later. MTV wanted Eddie to look like he was crazy on TV, and because of that, the band boycotted the channel. Thank god they made so few music videos, because that is what killed most music in the '90s

  • @EclipseProjectFilms it's a goddamn JOKE, people.

  • Comment removed

  • @WillBraden The song is about suicide, and it was highly disrespectful with how MTV put this together... I have laughed at the other commercials like this, I remember them very well from the mid 90's, but this one could have been made in a more tasteful way.

  • @EclipseProjectFilms good grief. there's such a thing as being overly-sensitive, man.

  • @EclipseProjectFilms I think the only bad thing about the video is the failed attempt for MTV to make a joke over a song that they single handedly destroyed in 1992. It was because of the over playing of the video, and the attention MTV created for it, why Pearl Jam didnt release another one til 1998.

  • @iliketurtles1246 you know that this is a joke, right? this guy is a comedian

  • @WillBraden yes ik that!!

  • @iliketurtles1246 You completely missed the joke you fool.

  • @brheas ok then "you fool"

  • @mcdstuff This was b4 niggers took over the world! XD

  • @seattlehawkins Now, now let's not get racist, I have black roots and I hate rap today, besides, wasn't Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix black?

  • @seattlehawkins Thats makes a lot of sense :L

  • Yes, MTV did clever shit. But then they sold their souls to hip hop. Gay.

  • haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao...

  • Notice how he never actually drinks it.

  • so fuckin good

  • That kook , that nut !

So funny. I remember when these ad's aired in the 90's - I'm so glad I found them again.

  • kinda bad for the real story behind Jeremy but pretty funnnnnyy

  • lol

  • asshole

pearl jam is not able for covers

  • Fuck me that cracked me up.

    20 second mark.

This bloke should have been given an oscar.

  • no fucking way

  • oh that kid

  • "MTV keeps you plugged in." Not so much today though. Hilarious clip btw

  • lol miss that guy...

  • This guy was in the movie "Up Periscope" funny little flick btw

  • Down Periscope. Also Reno 911, Vegas Vacation, Jerry Maguire amongst plenty of others

  • That's was cooler than anything on MTV in the past 10 years..

  • @gpittel YESYESYES! I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!

  • fucking tragic.

  • sorry guys, that's not sinatra

  • "That crazy kid"

    hahahahaha

  • ahahah is he frank? really? ahah

  • I laughed out loud. Didn't lol.

  • can't you see frank was drunk.

  • lol drunkern cook old frankie :)

  • oh man, flashbacks on this one. jeremy speakinnn all over the place, you can't shut him up! lolz.

  • I absolutely love those skits.. I remember them fondly from the 90's !

  • Sinatra was absolutely amazing. if you knew anything about him you would learn he was a preformer.. most concerts you go to you hear the music and theres alot of energy Sinatra took it to another level. He put on a show, not just music but entertainment, you could see him night after night and never see or hear the same thing, he told jokes and did skits that kept you laughing all night, not to mention he had one of the greatest male voices in history. That just shows ur ignorance Go read a book

  • gannable u fukn twat go listen to the headboard hit off the wall when ur dat is fukn ur sister then, inbread slag that u are

  • this guy (Toby Huss) also used to play artie, the strongest man in the world, on the adventures of pete and pete

  • Dude, best show ever! Why didn't they put season three out on DVD!!!?? Seriously, I love that show.

  • Oh my GOd, this is terrible as anything I ever heard

  • Uhh... Pretty sure that's not even Frank Sinatra... Its a joke... Stop freaking out.

  • Excuse me?? I am freaking out when I say it is as terrible as anything I have every heard??

Did you even listen to the revised lyrics that MTV added to the song?? He called him screwed up & messed up kid or something. I found the song to be rude, and certainly a sicko expression of judgement. That kid needed help, but none was given, was it??

So instead we judge and condemn rather than offer a hand, or even a smile. People need to think more about why kids get like Jeremy did. &Save them

  • Was that really Sinatra? Because I can't imagine him even listening to Pearl Jam, much less butchering them on TV.

  • retard

  • lol man, I've never seen this. Fantastic.

  • NONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • this guy does the voice of Cotton hill and kahn on king of the hill pretty talented.

  • This shit is funny as hell!

  • Awesome! LOL!!!

  • boss sense of humour

your gay if you dont find this funny

  • your gay if you say boss.

  • lol agreed

  • I wasn't expecting this...hahahahaha!

  • It sucks. But it made me laugh.

  • are you talking to me? are You talking to me??? are ou talking to ME? ARE YOU TALKin to me? Are you talking to me? are you TALKING TO me? wait wait let me do that one again... are you TALKING to me? ----

  • this is actually really funny

  • this is not humor, it's not funny to make fun of somebody else pain...

  • i agree, only because Jeremy was a real person who killed himself, and because it ain't cool to try to be the one and only frank sinatra

  • That's Toby Huss aka the guy who played Artie the strongest man in the world on Pete and Pete.

  • haha thats great

  • lmao that wasnt half bad

  • No, it was all bad. Harharhar

  • If you can't appreciate the humor in this... you need to have your funny bone replaced.

  • "You cant shut him up... Kookie boy and the kookie thing that he's doin'.... in that craaaaaazy way..... OH that kid!"

  • dork

  • it's funny but it sucks

  • dude.... fuck mtv

  • LOL

  • Is that the wiz?

  • Kinda funny, a little

  • Almost funny, its a rarity for MTV to do something that is mildly amusing but I had some mediocre enjoyment from watching that.

I bet the writer of that little skit is now on some weak shit piss poor Late Late Show thing writing utter dogshit for the likes of Craig Kilborne.

  • come on u fucking nits this was really fun and im a pearl jam fan

  • i'm sorry i ever saw this!!

  • i know this shouldnt be funny but i laughed my ass off when he said "speakin all over the place, you cant shut him up"...its just so bad and distasteful you have to laugh at it

  • heh this guy looks wasted

  • yep. marginally funny...

  • fuck MTV.

  • HAha He sounds like frank sinatra

  • FAIL

  • this is actually a good cover, sentimentally. It from an audio perspective is rather offensive. But based on what eddie's said about "jeremy", it seems like the song is based on his nonchalant, everyday vision of jeremy. "That cookie kid" sums it up nicely.

  • this would be funny with a normal song. But jeremy isn't a normal song. If you know the entire meaning after the song you won't find this funny. Maybe search this up: Jeremy Wade Delle

  • Boo-hoo...lighten up.

  • i know i maybe overreacted a bit :p i had a bad day when i wrote that. I agree that mtv was a lot better then, now it isn't so good anymore :( i want it back... like the mtv unplugged series and so

  • sinatra could have pulled this off. He was gifted, I agree with Dave on fuck MTV, they have played garbage now for at least 20 years, esp since rap got popular. I would'nt fuck Sinatra, though his daughter Nancy used to hot as hell. He had mob connections so he ws'nt one to fuck with. Not gang punk street bitches that use gangsta which is'nt even a word, Sinatra was the real deal and could have someone rubbed out in a heartbeat.I like Sinatra, and this is someone that likes Death metal.

  • This was so funny! The fact he's ripping on such a serious song makes it that much better COME ON! Get a sense of humor! The real Sinatgra (or any lounge type singer) might miss the message of that "younger generation's" music and just sing about a "kooky kid". Genius!

  • it's juz stupid, satirical fun. calm down everyone.

  • its a joke guys calm the hell down this is from when mtv was good unlike today

  • lol

  • This IS NOT SINATRA.

    Didn't he die by then?

And such a disrespectful thing to do,to spoof a song meant as a serious tribute to a real life event as child suicide..

  • Obviously it's not Sinatra. It's supposed to be taken lightheartedly, and yes the song dealt with a serious topic, but I doubt Pearl Jam would've cared all that much. And no, Frank Sinatra died in 1998.

  • you are an idiot. Both for thinking it was supposed to be sinatra and for thinking it was disrespectful. Have a jesus day!!! :)

  • no Sinatra died in 1998

  • he needs to get sucker punched

  • I respect Sinatra greatly, but what the fuck?! That's not cool, not to mention the song is about a real kid. Very distasteful.

  • so fuckin' horrible!

    kiddin' on Jeremy song!

    fuck MTV and also Sinatra!

  • Coolest commercial :)

  • This is probably the best mtv commercial ever made. I want this mtv back.

  • miss that mtv to

  • that cooked up nut

  • wow wtf happened with mtv changin from cool to bullshit.

  • Is he richard cheese??

  • that is absolute vintage!!!

    tear in the eye stuff!!

  • Haha, I remember this like it was yesterday.

  • lol

  • 0_o WTF!!!

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's funny

  • I remember this commercial...haha awesome. It was great then and now!

  • Best video ever. lmao

  • interesting :)

  • haha

  • everything was way cooler back in 90s

  • seriously

  • Yea, that decade everyone wanted to exparament. There is even a Tony Bennet unplugged session!!

  • Amen!
