Thank you Onegin for another special video. You must have the greatest collection of DVD's and live recordings of anyone... and with fantastic sound and video. Domingo shines here. I've heard Bonisolli and Bjoerling when I was a child. This is not a role for either of them. No one sings Dick Johnson, Chenier or Des Grieux, as dramatic examples, with as much passion, and with a full, rich, spinto voice. Thank you again!

I who love Bjorling, would not have anticipated such a PASSIONATE and EMOTIONAL reading of this role! i saw the production pictured above, and it was awfully good, but the voice did not touch me like the voice of Bjorling. and so it goes, something for everyone. Mind, i was not a bit disappointed in Placido, he is a marvelous ACTING SINGER, a rare gift, in the past and today.
