YOU DRAW LIKE ME!? something here, something there. starts with one eye then goes to whatever i feel like drawing. it dosent make a lot of sence looking at. but when you have the idear your head, is it just stupid to make help lines, or starting from a certain point.

you just draw what part you want first, and then the longer you get, the more it looks like picture. the pieces come together and you have a drawing..

never seen anyone else but myself draw this way.

@ Titan725 its actually quite possible. i do it myself. i find it easier to immediately start with the center and detail it, then work my way around it, then to start with the basic structure technique. everyone is different

@maddieballesteros1 measure, look for where things line up or meet in all angles, know the rules of eyes (pupil placement, cast shadows of lashes, highlights) remember that an eye is a ball, so look for the different value changes that you would find in a sphere. its always easier to remember to NOT draw body parts (eyes mouth nose ect.) look at the overall picture - find where the brow bone lines up with the cheekbone and where the cheekbone curves into the tearduct. sorry if its not helpful

How is it possible to create a fully-developed drawing in perfect perspective without following the time-honored techniques of first developing the basic geometric shapes that compose the finished subject? No preliminary shape construction is used here... the drawing just appears like magic! It looks like Marilyn, of course... but I question the technique. No light facial construction lines or sketchy development...you just put it all down on paper and presto! Instant Marilyn! How do you do it?

i draw the same way as him. i can draw completely photorealistic pictures without doing basic shapes first. some people who just can naturally draw just look at the paper and the picture and can recreate it without using the techniques people use to teach other people who dont naturally have the ability to draw. its just personal preference i think.

i'm guessing he just put the paper on the monitor(just type marilyn monore on google [images] and bingo...u got that HQ image) and traced it light...

i never trace ...it just doesn't help u develop you'r drawing skills...

i know what a pain in the ass it is when u need to draw the sketch...the proportins kill me...

at the marilyn monroe drawing i'm doing right now i finally finished the sketch in 45 minutes...

it looks good...but it took me 45 min...

its really easy. i don't draw basic geometric shapes first. when i do my videos i make line drawings first but thats just to save time. Usually my best drawings are created without guides. You just have to look at the picture and draw what you see.

@Titan752 We don't do eyes first for nothing, they literally hold all the guidance you need to get the ball rolling. Eye distance, nose tip location, ear, mouth corners.

But to come to this degree, he's either(or both):

Done the exact drawing before, it then becomes considerably less challenging to do it again.

He's got considerable practice (allowing to mentally map the guidance shapes)

When someone does something enough times it becomes a second nature to them my guess is that they have done this drawing a 100 times over and also someone mentioned about the paper being used to measure, it is possible to use a sheet of paper like a marking ruler but again i would say they were using the paper so as not to smudge the drawing

@Titan752 There's a very light outline of the figure already put down when he begins, it's just difficult to see because of the video quality. At certain times though, when the paper is moved about, you can see the outline. If you pause at 00:21, for one, you can see the outline for the second eye and side of the face. Really, just randomly pause a few times at any early point and you should see the outline here and there.

The paper underhand is to stop smudging and transfer of oils.

@Titan752 it is called a well trained eye some people have natural talent so thay draw what thay see and for some people who have a good eye find it hard to draw faces useing that style of approaching it so people who draw useing ur way all structure 1st detail last most likely learned to draw useing the method

Because the oil from our fingers can eventually damage the paper over time. To ensure longer lasting drawings, buy a better medium of paper or us a that smudgy pencil looking thingy made out of paper to smudge graphite or lead. I dont know how to spell it.
