WOW. Never in a million years would I have imagined our Terry pulling out the odd chestnut like THIS. Completely out of left field considering his usual style, but admirably done.
Jerry Sadowitz who appeared in Terry Hall's Terry Blair&Anouchka's video of Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes, complained that this video infringed his copyright,
I removed Jerry and replace his appearance with graphic animation. It's taken 5 months!
Although angry with Jerry, I am also grateful because, I would have never learned Adobe After Effects and animation.
Jerry's replaced by a number of colourful characters! Marc Bolan even makes an appearance! Bet he won't complain??!
AWESOME! I am a big fan of Todd Rundrgren's classic tune, and only Terry Hall's smooth voice combined with his simple and pure delivery could have pulled it off. Thanks for posting this gem!
I've been a Toddhead for over 30 years - nothing can match him,, but this is a lovely touchingly sung version by a Brit musician. Thanks Terry and hope everyone gets tickets for AWATS 2010 London and Amsterdam :)
I reaally like this song although my favorite mausic is new wave newe romantic, so its nice to see this song sung by a an artist who mostly sings a totaly different music style sound. great
That's Terry Hall from The Specials and Fun Boy 3. He wrote "Our Lips are Sealed" with Jane Wiedlin from the Go Gos. He did a fine version of this song... Todd likes it.
i met terry a couple of times and he's a very modest man. he's had an enormous influence on many artists today. esp damon albarn who is a huge fan. terry has produced some fantastic material in every band he's been involved with. laugh was a superb album. i just hope he keeps going.
Hilarious...that's great. He really does have an eclectic style. Pity he's never really broken with his solo stuff like he did with The Specials. If not for YouTube I fear much of this would all be lost to obscurity.

Love that chick on keyboards and her vocals too. Angelic voice. Guitar solo was good also.

Not much of a frontman. The backing band is awesome and really makes the song.

Nice...the drum beat changes the song from 2/4 to cut time.

I think this is as good as Todd's LIVE versions, but certainly not as meaningful as Todd's performances or even close to the studio version.

Well judging from when he recorded this song on album this video is from around '97 or '98.

This has to be at least 25 years old. Terry was born in 1959, so he's 50 now. Anyway, still not bad.

Imagine the money this guy would make if he reformed the specials. It would fill any stadium in the country twice over....Genius

Best thing he's ever done, not as good as Mr.Rundgren though.
