Halloween 2 was horrible & Rob Zombie fucked up with this. The original 2 Halloweens were perfect. Halloween 4 was great. Halloween 5 & 6 were decent. Halloween H2O was amazing. Resurrection was boring. The 1st remake was passable. But this WHAT THE FUCK WAS THIS SHIT?!?!?
This review is INVALID until you review the director's cut! What Rob was going for in H2 was to show how each of the characters handled the events of the first halloween in a realistic fashion. Lourie rebelled against her nerdy persona, addicted to pills, & slowly became insane due to genetic & external factors. Annie goes from carefree teen to a recluse and being a mom to Lourie & dad. Sheriff carrys guilt from failing to protect Annie & Lourie. Loomis hides his pain & failure thru fame!

Definitely hear what you were saying about the redundant violence. The only death scene that even remotely interested me (or made me feel sorry it happened) was when Danielle Harris' character died.
And that was purely because we *didn't* actually see it happen, only the flash cuts. ......Only one interesting scene in the whole two hour movie. Weak.

I know it is late to pst a comment but I have to say this 1 they play the halloween music in the end credits but it is modernized and that you need to watch the directors cut on dvd it is a little better but the movie still was not as good as the original halloween 2 and this movie shouldn't be considered a remake but more of a destroy a series that was good up till part 4 excludeing part 3.

I do love House of 1,000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects, so...Rob Zombie CAN make movies. I've only seen the first of the original Halloween movies, and the first is a classic, but I enjoyed Rob Zombie's first Halloween ALOT. And yeah I was pissed about how the theme to Halloween didn't show up til after the credits started rolling, same way I was pissed that they only played the Nightmare on Elm Street theme for like 5 secs at the start of the remake.

The studio really messed with his theatrical cut of Halloween 2. The director's cut is paced much better and Laurie's character arc is better told. (still "weak" however) The new cut deserves it's own review.

The studio really messed with his theatrical cut of Halloween 2. The director's cut is paced much better and Laurie's character arc is better told. (still "weak" however) The new cut deserves it's own review.

Explain to me why Loomis was such a different character than he was in rob zombies first.
