To be specific, Mega Man X3. it was due to the band's popularity in Japan, and the staff for the game were very big fans, so they did this as a little tribute of sorts. There were also quite a few more references in Mega Man X5, what with the english boss names being based off of various band members, and one stage having a plant-based boss with a rose theme, and the beginning of his stage has what appears to be large cannons looking like pistols of sorts in the background.
