  • I never use ear plugs, I mow the lawn then use the trimmer and then the blower, and it's all electric, it really sucked the 1st 2 months but after that I got used to it.

  • Jimmy Carter , what the hell.

  • i wish my lawn was emo so it would mow itself

  • chuck norris dont cut his grass he just dares it to grow

  • IS THIS DUDE ADD/ RETARDED/DISABLED...WHAT?!

  • @beloit22 no hes just old. dont make fun of him

  • @kdougall652 My-Badd.

  • This is so true. You also need lawn sprinklers though haha. :) Sprinklers.ifind2.com installs the best low cost Lawn Sprinklers. You can also get the do it yourself low cost Lawn Sprinklers book that saves thousands of dollar. I got it from BidsWOW.com

  • Dude i have one question for you how many people actually do this.

  • Why does everyone have mowed grass lawns? It depresses the hell out of me and looks like shit.

  • If you wear ear plugs, after you take them out everything sounds twice as loud!

  • my COCK!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • first he said dont use the trimmer as an edger then i clearly see him doing it when he went around the black edging!! i have trimmed yards in florida many years and am considred good at it(its not rocket science) i have always used a line timmer as my edger and it works very well,as long as you use good thick line in your trimmer .095 and up.especially with floratam grass, youll find a stick edger doesnt always cut the stolens(sic) line is flexible and gets the job done the first time.

  • Add a step: TRIM YOUR HEDGE

  • 1 minute safety brief, 1 minute of useless tips...............thanks

  • I lost vision in my left eye from an accident. Do yourself a favor and use eye and ear protection. I'm 27 and have Tinnitus as well.. "Occasional ringing in the ears"

  • what if you just have a weed wacker?

  • You'd have to be a SUCKA fool not to use eye protection when using a trimmer. Listen to this man, it's for your own good.

  • Very informative video, really helped me. Thanks!

  • Mommy, I'm scared!

  • I use a string trimmer when I edge and it goes much faster than what you showed here. Also it is convenient because I can use it around landscape and trees without having to go to the truck to get a blade edger. It looks perfectly straight every time also. It does take a lot of practice though lol.

  • Question: when mowing my grass, will my iPod serve as "earplugs?" Or, will it be much safer to just go with a couple of actual earplugs? Just curious. Thanks!

  • @oasisdaniel i like to listen to music too but put a pair of ear mufs over top of them.

  • @oasisdaniel This can actually be worse for your ears because in order to hear your music you have to turn the volume up much louder then you normally would. Its best, as suggested by others, to ware ear muffs over top to help cancel the sound of machines out.

  • I wonder why we don't apply an extra blade under the lawn mower so it can cut better?

  • Good tip. The was I was doing it was cut, trim, edge, blow.

  • @hotstuff7655 it really makes no difference. personal preference. if they way you do it is efficient and looks good then by all means dont change

  • @gstonegraphix Mexicans?

  • @mmmmmarcus - I don't know what that guy was talking about! I am American and my helpers are American.I guess he has something against Mexicans though.Nice drawings on your page!

  • @gstonegraphix Heh. Where i live, all the landscapers are illegals. Nothin against mexicans. Their food kicks ass. Thank you very much for viewing my art.

  • Try using scissors to edge a lawn. It looks WAY better than using an electric edger. It leaves a cleaner cut, and wont scalp the grass, which results in brown dead margins.

  • @gstonegraphix oh right Shindaiwa machines are lame? even though they'll last over 20 years commercially? right...

  • @thealed29 Then how come as of January 2010 they have a 2 year commercial warranty? You must have added a extra zero on the end of you number!

  • @gstonegraphix because commercial warranties don't reflect how long a machine will last. when i bought my strimmer in '88 the warranty was only something like 6 months or 1 year commerical, still runs fine and dandy. All Shindaiwa's even today are like that.

  • I'm sorry but I don't agree with all your video, you can use a weed eater to edge if you know what you're doing , and I'd prefer to mow first, edge and weedeat next, and then blow it off .

  • @ZefreyLove excatly how i do it

  • @gstonegraphix I don't see what that has to do with anything, some people are more personalized, than industrialized, and that has nothing to do with Logos , are equipment,

It's how you use it, an your knowledge of it , some people don't like a bunch of Mexicans and people in their yard , eating their lunch under their shade tree.

  • F5 to skip advertisements ...

  • Excellent video. I prefer to edge after mowing and right before blowing because you get a sharper edge. If you edge first, then you trample over the edge with the mower and "de-sharpen" it - lol.

Also, I aways cut in both directions every time (i.e. cut the lawn twice) because it gives a better finished appearance.

  • this dude is stupid it doesnt matter if u mow the same way every time grass grows torwards the sun idiot

  • @comment clown height is the distance from the ground that the mower blade is set at

  • What's heighth?

  • Edge, Mow, Trim, then Blow Job, ok i got it

  • His lawn kicks ass.

  • Is it generally better to edge first or later? Cause if you are not bagging the lawn trimmings I don't see the difference.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • a hand held blower and a push mower, lol

  • edging first is funny

  • FAIL.

  • this dude sucks he should buy professional tools.he has cheap tools.

  • are you high? this guy has a snapper commercial mower and the rest of his equipment is all shindaiwa. those are very good quality & expensive proffesional brands.

  • @BaseballFreak1468 anyone can buy commercial equipment can call themselves a proffesional.

  • @curbApp1 I know I was just replying to some guy who said this guy has cheap tools.

  • @BaseballFreak1468 i know im not hatin on what u said so u dont think i am, but im just sayin anyone can say their a pro. he doesnt have the equipment to say hes a pro. and his vids could be done in half the time with out making 2 of each vid.

  • @curbApp1 This guy is the owner of showplace lawns out of San Antonio. He is also a liscensed horticulturalist, and landscape designer. He is a qualified proffesional. So now you know, and you can stop making yourself look ignorant.

  • @TheBrassHole thats great. Im the owner of Curb Appeal Landscapes out of Milwaukee. im also a certified arborist . whats your point?

  • @curbApp1 By the looks of things, you like to create problems. Scroll down, there is a pattern here. Would hate to work for you. But thanx for proving my point, once again...

  • @TheBrassHole scroll down, create problems? sucks. my guys love it. and whats your point? u made no point

  • @curbApp1 You just proved my point...

  • @TheBrassHole okk pal.

  • @BaseballFreak1468 shitdaiwa... speaking from a LOT of experience

  • plant FOOD on your lawn people!

  • Your a dumb fuck. This video sucks ass.

  • Some good tips, but to make money you have to be quick, An experienced operator would use a line trimer to do the edges, then mow , and then blow, do you think the customer really cares the way you cut there grass?

  • If you don't use different directions each time you mow it will leave grooves in the grass over time.

  • I don't think thats true, unless you have very clay soil and you over the same spot exactly as you did before which is very unlikely, I mow about 3000 lawns a year and have never found what your talking about.

  • It happens where we do it. I live in Oklahoma, our soils really soft here. So thats probably it.

  • He looks like the monster on a box of boo-berry cereal. I like the home-depot orange shirt. Or prisoner-orange.

  • hahaahahhahaha, that's one of the funniest comments i've read on youtube.

  • Ok I like this video but I own my own company and all I edge with is the weedeater and I dont have a problem with it keeping a nice straight line, I find that using a metal blade can lead to a problem if it tuches the sidewalk or driveway.

  • This tool ( video ) was really helpful thank you.

  • I'm really glad that he covered hearing and eye protection from the start. I used to hate people telling me to wear safety goggles and ear muffs, but now I always do. The first time you ever have anything fly up from your mower and hit your anywhere near your eyes, it's a really scary feeling and it makes you understand why they're so important. Good video!

  • I used to hate listening to people telling me to protect my eyes and ears. A couple months ago, I had a little hearing damage in one ear after I edged my lawn. It was extremely uncomfortable. Luckily, I have recovered all of my hearing. Now I always use ear plugs and shatter resistant sunglasses. Good luck.

  • @AeroJimE27 how???

  • @AeroJimE27 Same! Only until a few weeks ago i was working on a mower to sell it and a chunk of metal flew out of the cylander into my eye. its hurt like freking hell!

  • @AeroJimE27 wow man im glad that the ear can recover some hearing :D glad to see you recovered. i always wear sun glasses and a hat when i mow hearing is not a problem with me for some reason :\

  • This was very helpful for me, being a first time home owner. I really liked the part about cutting in different directions to help grass grow straight up. Thanks partner q:u)

  • my lawn has concrete surrounding it but i can't cut it with the mower because its too big to fit in there i have to cut it myself with scissors. that takes too much time and my hand would ache afterward. is there any kind of tool that can help me?

  • thanks, my mom wanted me to trim her yard with a edger, i was like WTF?

  • ha ha ha

    good one...

  • if im trimming a lawn with a stihl and hit a cat/gopher/snake/rabbit, should i ..... a) rn him over with a mower or b) knock a rock on his head.

  • Thanks

  • Soooooooo enthusiastic!!!

  • BORING

  • i edge with a slant/angle.

  • I was looking at his sign and realized how funny it is if Comlete Landscaping said Complete Blowjobs. LOL!

  • Helped alot.

    Thanks :)

  • This is a good video, but my electric trimmer is also a edger, i usually trim my yard first with the electric trimmer, get all the places that my riding wont get, then i mow it with the rider.

  • He's right about the mowing directions. It is aweful to find your grass laying over and about 6 inches long but it wont stand up so you can mow it. This is from mowing in the same direction every week. Change it up and the grass will grow straight.

  • thx now i know how to my yard work :)

  • this video sucks so bad. Saftey Saftey Saftey bla bla bla

  • Good thing to go by.

    Edge, mow, trim and mow...

  • good job!

  • Extremely Helpfull!!!

  • excellent !

  • excellent video. god bless.
