Another case of a heart being in the right place (solving senseless crimes), but using flawed technique. 20 seconds of abrasive treatment renders this useless, and does not address case-less wheelgun usage. In a perfect world, nobody would mess with the markings, but a perfect world would be devoid of crime.
AB1471 should apply to LEO issued SA's. How much further can Mexifornistan go down the hole?
Great way of banning guns. Next year will be, microstamping handguns isn't good enough, lets microstamp rifles too. And the one after that, lets just ban handguns and forget all the microstamping. You can guess the next.
I can't believe no one has commented on this garbage.... What happens if someone takes your casings from the range and decides to spread them out at a crime scene? What if your gun is stolen? What about the millions of other guns already sold? Did you forget that most criminals use guns the bought on the street? How can you trace those?
I can't even watch this.Say goodbye to semi automatic handguns in california.I'm moving this is the last straw.

therein lies the unforseen problem.
well, unforseen by them.
the blackmarket will boom with 'un-stamped' firearms. it only gets bigger every law they make.
just like prohibition of alcohol, and the war on drugs...
politicians will not learn.
well, except one politician. Ron Paul in 08

All guns "on the street" initially come from legal purchases.

Straw purchases.

Okay, but I'm sure that all the criminals will be lining up to register their firearms.

And if the handgun was reported stolen, what then? You are back to square one- affecting law abiding gun owners and not the crimminal
