I hear you guys talk about Lakes,Wigglesworth, fox, etc. No Jesus? just like the church. Now in days we have a form of god, and no power. We look backwards, forever learning and never coming 2 a understanding. Jesus is lord....amen
@MRGENHERNANDEZ Dude. Seriously? I have 700+ videos about Jesus and TWO about John Lake. Are we never to review the lessons learned by the saints that went before us? Is there no place to read about the Acts of the Apostles because Jesus was already gone?
Jesus is Lord. Yeah. But try to be a little charitable. Are we on the same team or not?
@fotm1 Forgive me if I a fended you, I make comments not toward any one person, but to the whole body of CHRIST. I'm seeing it more In churches, they are reading about the past Saints but, they deny the power of the spirit today. Where are the Paul's, Peters, Lake's, etc. How many churches do we need in one city. When the early Saints started to say I'm of Paul"s baptism, others said I'm of Peter's. Paul said who is Paul and Who is Peter. It kind of reminded me of the comments I read. One Body:)
@Tackyrobinson Not that I can find anywhere in his writings. If you can show me where, I'd love to see it. I have a ginormous book that is supposed to be the complete works of John G. Lake and I've read it all the way through with no hint of that.
@fotm1 After Lake’s first wife died, he was contacted by a woman with a bad eye. Lake described the "Spirit" coming over her while she was sitting in a chair and:
@fotm1 "She arose from her chair, her eyes quite shut, and came in my direction. I got up and moved my chair. She walked right around and came to me. She slipped her fingers down, gave me a little chuck just like my late wife would have done, and said, ‘
@fotm1 Jack, my Jack, God is with you all the time. Go right on. But my baby, my Teddy, I am so lonesome for him, but you pray so hard, you pray so hard" (John G. Lake: His Life His Sermons, His Boldness of Faith, Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1995, p.133)
@Tackyrobinson OK, so Lake TAUGHT that, or he told that story? There's a big difference. What was the result of that story?
I've KNOWN people that claimed to talk to the dead (or prayed to statues of dead saints), and I've told the story. That doesn't mean that I'M claiming it or teaching it.
@fotm1 "Listen, it is not dragging spirits up, and it isn’t dragging some spirits down. There is nothing about calling spirits down from God in the Word; only about calling them up out of the depths" -John G. Lake.
So Lake is saying thts it is FINE to call DOWN the dead. he is TEACHING in a public sermon. that it is OK.
@fotm1 The Woman that lake is talking about in this "Story" continues to talk about Lakes wife commign to her "in the spirit" and bringg this woman to Jesus on a mountain for healing. Ummm...WHY does all this need to take place? WHAT is the purpose of this?
" Spiritualism is trying to drag the dead up to you. Christianity, bless God, is making the blood-washed spirit free to go to the Lord..." Umm...I was made free to Go to The Lord by THE LORD! Not a spritual encounter. its just...off
@Tackyrobinson I have tried to make clear in all my discussions about Wigglesworth, Lake, George Fox or anyone else - that they DID NOT have it all 100% right. If we set our minds that anyone that is not SPOT ON on every point CANNOT be used by God - then we will wait FOREVER for revival because only JESUS is 100%.
I'm not defending Lake on this. It sounds Catholic at the very least, and New Age at the worst. The purpose of this story MAY BE to show how easy it is to be deceived. God help us.
@fotm1 Ok. This was just a small discussion. Im not one to attack Or Point fingers or anythign like that. WE ALL are looking through a mirror dimly. and we are in this flesh so deception on a point here or there is inevitable. But however there is a HUGE spirit running all through out the spiritual side of Christianity. and its sly and deceptive. it mimics God in every way...except it does odd things. Like What lake described. There is a "fire" in the church that doesnt come from God.
@fotm1 If you can look up "divine Feminine" its in ALL religions... and increasing. Many names for it, the Shekinah, kundalini... Anyway. Look into it. spiral/coil/ Holy spirit is female. (What lake describes IS conjuring. God doesnt have Spirits of the dead enter living bodies.) If i am doing anythign Against the Most High in this. I pray he shows me. Just. Be carefull. Jesus bless you. I care. that is why i bring thigns up. Not a chalenge, Im not one to run around screaming heretic.
@Tackyrobinson I hear you. Good conversation. I have issues with other stuff about Wigglesworth and Lake and others, but can't deny they were mightily used by God. And they never amassed personal fortunes, wore turbans or whatever. Not perfect, but I believe I'll get to hug them someday.
I've seen some stuff that I know looked like God but wasn't. I know it's sneaky. The closer you get to God the more sneaky. There's a VERY fine line between prophet & warlock. In some ways they look the same.
@fotm1 " There's a VERY fine line between prophet & warlock". Agreed 100% Doug. And Ultimately God looks at the heart, So i try not to judge, by Words, becasue Everyman is a liar, and God is truth. and even Paul didnt speak the Word of God 24/7. Anyway, I hope we both get to Hug them One day My Friend. Well Thank you For having this Conversation with Me Doug. Maybe Jesus will lead us into more in the future. Jesus bless you. Be Well.
All I watched was the first 50 sec. of this. Robert Liardon books about Lakes sermons have all been edited and the most important parts have been edited out. The only person that holds the complete teachings and sermons is Curry Blake. The only way to know the truth is to watch the DHTT videos or listen to the MP3's from Curry as of now. I also own this Robert Liardon book. After hearing Curry's truth about healing. I have been healed from arthrits and tennis elbow in the name of JESUS!
Yes I'm trying to do some research about this guy as I'm trying to find a answer to a question. I'm pleaded you found what you are looking for, go for it.
I am reading the same book - almost finished. Awesome - Awesome book. Yeah, he is cool. Good Lord, i would like to find a church today that is half of what this man brought to the body. He would never quit until someone was healed
I have studied John G. Lakes sermons for about twenty years. He had insight on divine healing that most ministers seem to lack today. If you want to learn about divine healing through faith in Christ , His sermons will enlighten you. They are full of scriptures on the subject.
Thanks for doing this vid! God is finally relenting and showing us scientific proof of the mysterious way He does His thing. Blessed are those who believe without seeing, yet it His will that none should perish!
Doug, you'll never know how much this means to me. I'm going through a lot, and your simple act of purchasing that book (as the Spirit lead you) and reading it....has profoundly affected me.
2) He died at 65. That's not "rather young" to me, given the era. I don't think you understand how hard his life was & how he worked 12-18 hour days for like 40 years. He wore his body out. As for why he didn't heal himself, that's kind of circular & much like why didn't Jesus get Himself off the cross. The short answer is God didn't want him to live forever. Lake never said that EVERYONE would always get healed.
@fotm1 He wore himself out for god. How many people do that today ?This man would pray night and day until people we're delivered and healed. He was totally devoted to god and unselfish.
@WolfTimmington It's not a matter of not understanding your position or Curry's - it's a matter of disagreeing with it on Biblical, historical, rational & observational grounds. It's not that I "believe in" divine healing - I've SEEN lots of divine healing. We've talked about this other places, Wolf, but you never hear me. I've given you Biblical examples that you don't respond to or dismiss. I believe that you (and Blake and Wommack) are under a delusion & preaching a false prosperity gospel.
@WolfTimmington It should be based on RIGHTLY DIVIDING the Word of God. That means not OUR interpretation of the verse, but what the Holy Spirit (who is our teacher) leads us to believe about that verse. Our faith should be based on the foundation laid by the Apostles. You can't dismiss the book of Acts. And you can't dismiss current testimony & church history. WHY was Smith Wigglesworth sick with kidney stones for 2 years? Why did John Lake's wife die? Why did Jesus leave Paul blind for days?
Thanks for reading this Doug !!!!!! God bless you!!

3 questions:
1) What do you think about Curry Blake?
2) If Lake was a healing expert why did he himself die rather young? Why did he not get himself healed or any of his trained healing practioners?
3) If you think Lake is good how can you be against Wommack? Wommack also teaches divine healing.
BamBamBentley 2 years ago
1) I don't know enough about him to comment.
