  • This song was not written about people who lost their lives in a horrific tragedy. It was written about people who isolate themselves in order to cope with the harshness of reality. It was inspired by Syd Barrett, who alienated himself from everybody. So they took someone else's song and sang it out of context, and indulged themselves with new lyrics.

  • i'm just curious as to who's the one who actually said that Fred Durst should sing this song? i'm not hating on him, its just it seems like getting the guy from Nickelback to sing Hotel California

  • destroyed a great song

  • @soulstripp3r Your destroying your relevance to the future ! Hope you get better!

  • man kann pink floyd einfach net covern !!

  • @SuperJojonator ist kein cover, ist ein tribute fur das 9/11 in amerika

  • ShUt up and listen to the damn lyrics ! This is a tribute to my fallen Brothers cant you just respect him for that ?

  • Fred Look so bad, His sadness is contagious

  • After you all ate and enjoyed all the Fred' songs, now that Lim Bizkit is in the past, now, after so much you adored all of it, now you hate him. Bands aren't forever, so its spark duration must be seized and later let it go without any regret. They used their own touch for this cover, you wouldn't expect they would have done it the same way as Pînk Floyd, and don't forget the purpose, please...

  • Isn't this music from pink floyd?

  • They butchered one of the best lyrics in rock history.... This was a horrible cover and I hope you decide to remove this video and any history of it ever existing.

  • What a great cover durst and the goo goo dolls rule

  • Just sit with your eyes shut and savour , stop the hating....

  • jeez i HATE when people keep sayin that Durst sucks and shit like that.. one thing i don't understand, if he sucks so much, wtf r u all doin here?

  • they forget to mention wes borland =)

  • Linda Version de Pink Floyd "Desearia que estuvieses Aqui"

  • What's the year? 2001? 2000?

  • Only time i have seen wes with an acoustic! :D

  • Are you fuckin kidding me, durst stick to shitty punk rock/rap and leave good music to musicians

  • wow pink floyd must have been mad

  • I know people who died on 9/11 and several close friends who were chased down by the cloud of pulverized cement. I walked around manhattan on september 13th, when the air still smelled like wreckage and every wall was plastered with xeroxes of missing people.

but, I'm sorry folks, that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the worst songs ever performed. fred durst's vocal range can't be more than three goddamn notes. horrific tragedies don't excuse crappy music.

  • WISH YOU WERE HERE..!!

  • HEY FOOLS

    WES IS HERE TOO

  • come on now? really? all this wasted energy on hating! appreciate good music! shut up an listen for once and maybe youll learn something

  • I love the throaty timbre of the acoustic guitar on this version. The way this version is played is so distinctive and gorgeous...

  • awesome, they sang it with there own rythm fabulous:D

  • FUCKIN`PRICK......NO RESPECT......YNWA,JF96.XX

  • People say that Fred has no talent mainly because it's Fred not because there's really no talent. Why don't you guys actually listen and make your own conclusions instead of sharing blind hate. Are you like 12 yr old or what?

  • @SuperVeryAwesome Spot on man. Just listen to behind blue eyes theres the only evidence you need!

  • how i wish u were weed

  • awesome... fuck haters if you dont like fred durst why u keep watching his videos? bunch of fags

  • This really isn't good... Seriously, it's not.

  • Johnny is an amazing talent, as well as Fred. This song is a tribute to all who were lost on 9/11 (including people who were close to me). The fact that they chose this song makes it even more powerful. New twist to an already perfect song by an even more perfect band is awesome. In your best day, any of you would never have the talent, or the testicular fortitude to do anything this meaningful.....so leave the negativity at the door on your way out.

  • IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY OR CONSTRUCTIVE DONT SAY ANYTHING ...LET THEM THINK YOUR AN IDIOT OR OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUGHT!!!!

  • I remember watching this as it aired and was just blown away. This is one of the BEST covers of this song. Acoustically and lyrically it was a great choice and a poignant session.

  • it isnt even fred durst's lyrics that were added. the goo goo dolls have done this cover for a while. so stop ripping on fred durst for adding shitty lyrics. Also, what is so awful about this? its an acoustic COVER its not supposed to sound like the original or that would be pointless. Solid tune

  • just awsome

  • Only Fred Durst can turn peace of art into a peace of crap in one step.

  • it´s amazing how you people see this video and the only thing you remember is to talk shit about fred. just amazing.

yes, i am a limp bizkit fan. if you ask me if this cover is perfect? no, i dont think so. but who cares? i see this video i dont even care who is singing, it`s just a tribute, respect that people.

    cumps from Portugal

  • This is awful. A dork like Durst should have nothing to do with real talent like Pink Floyd.

  • @CorrinZGW He probably doesn't have anything to do with Pink Floyd. It's a cover you fuckwit.

  • lmao

  • although i disagree with the changed lyrics to a timeless classic i do give many props for the emotion put into it

  • Comment removed

  • The moment when he brings in his own lyrics feels like a face-punch, just MAN, don't even try to reach for the level of PF lyrics! also learn to play the right chords first.

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

    FFFFFFUUUUUUUU

    UUUUUUUUUUUUU

    UUUUUUUUUUU-

  • all who dont like fred durst... F*** OFF AND GET OFF THE VIDEO ASS CLOWNS!!

  • I don't care if fred durst is talent or not, i enjoy this song anyways, and i really love it !

  • I like Limp Bizkit but not Fred Durst f---ing up a classic...stay the f--- away from remaking Pink Floyd jams.!!

  • Personally I'm not a fan of Fred Durst taking one of the greatest songs by Pink Floyd and adding his own lyrics to it. If he wanted to make his own song he should have instead of desecrating Wish You Were Here.

  • This faggot Durst has resorted to nauseating covers of all-time great songs because he lacks the talent to write any of his own.

How does this fucking moron have a career or fans?

  • Hey where I can buy this song or album I want this song with Fred durst!!

  • So many effects on the vocals. It's not too bad however.

  • Fuck Hates Limp and Fred stayed true to their music always, never sold like Linkin park nor Papa roach and even GREEN DAY, playing all dark, emo and sad 'cause the times demanded it ... Limpster's for Ever ♫

  • Beautiful <3 This was amazing !!!!! <3

  • world trade center 01-02 fred durst wish u were here of pink floyd enjoy

  • Awesome, I watched it live that night and remember if like yesterday! If you don't like it then turn it off.

  • @tarponrd...

Done. The MOnster turned this effect-laden monstrosity OFF!!!

  • i've always been against anyone doing covers of the greatest bands in history (Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zepplin etc...) but this cover is amasing.

Haters of Durst or the Goo Goo Dolls - these people are too small-minded to realise that the negativity and angers they spew come from within themselves

  • Kritiker, sfw

  • @RapidPitBull Haha well fuck, all these meatheads bashing Fred.. You would THINK, most people would gain respect for him after this performance?

Mama always told me you cant take intelligence for granted.

  • i love pink floyd even old syd barret ones

  • btw i like fred durst singing this song

  • mesemerising.....fred is a talented piece piece of shit........wish you were here is a gift from pink floyd to the human race

  • say what you want about fred durst...i'm actually pleasantly surprised by him...he did another good cover of behind blue eyes as well, albeit missing a critical verse

  • Look at all these chumps commenting on how bad, untalented etc etc Fred Durst is.. Obviously too stupid to look at the big picture of why they did this song.. wow all of you Idiots

  • Comment removed

  • It's not about hating Fred Durst, or the Goo Goo Dolls, its about the people we lost on 9/11. Everyone's a critic, but people just need to sit back and think about the significance of the song...God Bless.

  • @SoldierOfChrist281 shit on black nigger christ, you hitler faggot queer.

  • @SoldierOfChrist281 fuck you, christian cunthole!

  • @awkando what an ignorant fuck.. keep your negativity to yourself

  • @ownworstenimy FUCK YOU, YOU CREATIONIST BELIEVING FUCKCUNT SHITHEAD!!!!!!!!!

  • Hauntingly Beautiful. One of the best rock performance collaberations ever. Thanx Pink, thanks Fred, thanx Dolls, and thanx utube's Laurinha1986.

  • I was a 19 year old New Yorker when this telethon concert was held in post 9/11 2001.

Its been more then 8 years since hearing this, but the cover still brings back that sunny Tuesday morning in vivid memory.

You can hate Fred, but this moved more then any other performance that night.

  • Fred is great

  • @bassguitargod1993

Ur a talentless piece of shit...Go bitch somewhere else....This cover was amazing.

  • You must be such a bass guitar god, it would be very interesting to see you play this song on bass, guitar or vocals, douche.

  • pink floyd's version is awsome but this one has a messege everyone should listen more closley

  • Awesome, but i prefer pink floyd, think its great how the they have changed the music though to personalise it.

  • you people are why he wrote "do you think we can change, everybody that hates..."

I love both versions equally and i think Fred Durst had something going with his version, it's the same song but different in its own way, yet exactly the same message as floyd but his is completely different

  • this was a good cover of a msterpiece wuit hating on FD because he is FD its getting lame people

  • I love Floyyd, but also love the twist these guys put on it ,top shit I reckon.

  • they changed the lyrics to some gay "lets change" shit. terrible

  • A really good song but pink floyd's version is better than this!!! From Rosario, Argentina

  • Love Floyd but this song is the shit

  • Can he STOP ruining great songs, this is worse than awful

  • what are you talking. this is great. he adds his own twist. if you dont like it why'd you search it?

  • wow, I surely was hostile.

But no, this is a disgrace to pink floyd, it's really stupid to even try covering a masterpiece like Wish You Were Here

  • they did it cause of the lyrics in the song. i agree its not as good but still...for the situation it was performed for. it is amazing.

people are commenting on the song whether the cover was good or bad but in reality he wasn't trying to make it good or bad. just trying to raise money for the biggest tragedy/terrorist attack in the modern era.

...and plus you can tell he put his all into it because when i was watching it live after the attcks he started to cry. def. put emotion into it.

  • Covers ain't about making it sound the same.

This is fred's/ goo goo dolls twist on it, and they didn't do it to please you.

They did it for the victims man, get a heart,

  • HEY FUCK YOU ILL KICK YOUR ASS

  • This cover is just amazing!

  • great cover

  • This song is amazing....Which it was on a LB album...

  • none of them. its a pink floyd cover not put on any album

  • this is cool, but i think they should've taken turns singing or something.

  • This is my favorite version.

  • jeez, Durst is singing this song as a tribute to all who lost their lives on that day. who cares if you think his voice sucks, (i personally love his voice, and i don't like limp bizkit) this is all about the 3,000+ Americans who lost their lives.

  • Oh, Dear! You're in the military! That really improves your arguing skills.

  • He needs help with his vocals cause hes a little wet pussy!

  • i got a message to all u fukin dildos who actually like this song. u all can lick my balls, suck my dick, and then go kill yourself. IF u did it would bring a smile to my face. This is the biggest insult to Pink Floyd. Fred Durst is a fukin lowlife who should prolly go die or sumthin n make the world a better place, hes a terrorist

  • i like Fred Durst!!

and this song is a kind of nice.. but the original one is pretty better... absolutely!

  • if you say that fred sings bad in this song you really need to fix your ears or stop be so fucking retard! if limp bizkit were as popular as they were in year 2000 you would say that this was great, and thats lame!

  • "if limp bizkit were as popular as they were in 2000" well dipshit there not. THat was 9 years ago, durst is a has been wash up lozer. in a couple more years limp bizkit is guna b forgotton, bands like Pink Floyd will live on forever. N they insult them with their own peice of shit version of one of the best songs ever.

  • Fred Durst looks really bored. Maybe it would've been a better version if he was out of the picture.

  • For me it sounds as if it was another part of "Wish You Were Here", but still PF owns this song!:)

  • at least the guitarplayer is really good^^ well, im a lil disappointed, cuz i love Fred Durst actually and it sounds not even quite as good as the orginal. but a really great cover is from "Sparklehorse".

  • i dont understand...i like this song still

  • He didn't fuck it that bad, but original is way better.

  • geniallll me encanta

  • eh wtf?

  • durst is the best...the one and only

  • This is a joke, Fred is no tallent, why mess up a song with so much meaning

  • You people need to chill out

  • cheeky bastard it sounds shite!!!sounds like stephen hawkin!!!

  • Fred "the computer voice" Durst

  • WOW...they changed the lyrics to one of if not THE GREATEST song ever...this song hits deep and give it to fred durst to fuck it up...i know it was for the charity...but messin with this song is not a good choice...

  • e1 i like this version

  • Give these guys credit for being there. this song was not done to out do anybody, it was changed and sung soley for the purpose of the benefit. "Do you think we can change everybody that hates, before its too late." doesnt sound like it.

  • Fuck U !

  • Bite me bitch.

  • i think the lyrics are a little iffy, certainly lacking the genius and loneliness of the original, but in the context of what was going on at the time, they work. Other than that, I've always liked the sound of it, and looking at it objectively the lyrics aren't bad. Its always a roll of the dice when you mess with the lyrics of a genius song.

  • well, despite the hater comments, I'm no Limp Bizkit/Durst fan, but this is the best version of this song I ever heard...

  • this is stupid..You only change lyrics to shitty songs like Fred Durst songs not a Pink Floyd song

  • maybe I'm the only one, but I like this version...

  • No, i like it too!

  • fuck all of ya grandpa' bullshit!this is a very good cover, in my opinion better then the original!listen to all balads from results may vary and if you are not moved by the lyrics it means you are a fucking robot with no soul

  • Wow..Worst cover song EVER!!!!

  • I remember watching this live. It was like a week or so after 9/11. I havent seen it since. Being in NYC at the time, I remember being touched by the song, but I guess I didnt realize they changed the lyrics - I was probably thinking about the original version from Floyd. Watching this for the first time in 7 years, I agree it is pretty stupid. Had they not changed the lyrics i think they could have done a better job.

  • what the hell it´s that shit??!! I Can´t believe what they made with this song and also they change the lyrics, oh my god!!!!

    somebody kill them!!!

  • Oh my God, I hate Fred Durst and John Rzeznik for turning "Wish You Were Here" into some wishy-washy sentimental crap. What a way to ruin a classic song.

  • Dude, I know... I'm just sitting here wondering how Roger Waters would feel that someone changed his amazing lyrics into... well, this.

  • really good,thanks:)

  • Take away the effects on the vocals and you have crap.. Also, changing the words and chords to a classic song like this is blasphemy in my eyes. Sorry I didn't like it :(

  • Kill yourself.

  • deep song...real deep...brings lots of memories

  • I just noticed these aren't the right lyrics.... The original are far superior.

  • They changed it to do with 7/11

  • Pink Floyd's version is much better.

  • rockin song

  • fred actually did pretty good with this. (if he ever did anything good in his life)

  • Brilliant!! Love pink floyd's version but the one here is much better to me (hate limp bizkit;)) )

  • Awesome!

  • they sound awesome together...thanks !
