It all crashed down because of the stupid movie "die another day"(smuck of a movie).Craig is a more realistic bond and a new form of bond just like the new batman movies. Timothy Dalton might just be my favorite Bond. It's a tough call between him and Brosnan. Both of them were excellent, and Dalton was incredibly impressive. I was used to seeing him in stuff like Flash Gordon and The Rocketeer. I had no idea he could play Bond so well. I had never watched this film or The Living Daylights until a few years ago. I'm sorry I waited, because they were terrific and underrated. Great music too.

This was the best Bond movie, seriously. It's hard to actually rate all the guys that played Bond becuz they were all different and unique. But one thing's for sure....Timothy Dalton was a good one, he didn't get as much credit becuz he had to follow up Connery and Roger Moore, but had he stayed on as Bond, I'm sure people would have come to appreciate just how good he was. Brosnan lucked his way into the role only becuz Dalton chose to give up the role.

@ad287 I agree with you completely, ad287. As far as I am concerned, there have been only three actors who did a great job playing Bond ---- Connery, Dalton, and Craig. Brosnan was close to being great, too. Roger Moore was too much suave, not tough enough for me in most of his movies, with the exception of For Your Eyes Only. Both my wife and I were very disappointed when we heard that Timothy D had turned down an offer to be Bond a 3rd time.

@ad287 I agree with you that Dalton made a fine 007, but the factual truth is that Brosnan was considered early on for Roger Moore's successor. He won the role before the end of his Remington Steele tv show, as the network had decided to cancel it. When word had got out that Brosnan was to play Bond, viewer ratings for Steele when up enough to delay the cancellation and it went another season. Brosnan was still contractually bound so he honored the Steele contract.
