And another thing about GC is not only do they not sing about things such as self mutilation, but one of my favorite songs of theirs was written about not committing suicide, about how it affects everyone. If you don't know which one I'm alluding to, check out "Hold On". I like GC because when I was in Jr high and high school going through all the teenage drama and having two of my friends die, their songs felt reassuring. Typical "emo" music usually makes me feel depressed.

I agree with you to a certain extent. they dress emo but more around the time The Chronicles Of Life And Death album came out.

They don't sing emo songs, they sing about things that most of us can relate to from time to time.

I can't remember them singing about worshipping the devil or about cutting themselves or giving up on life.

There may be some darker songs but the lyrics in those songs are just singing about how life can be.

They also dressed emo during their second album as well. How I long for their more punk outfits from their self-titled album.

But you see- most things that are considered emo are about how life can be. Worshipping the devil would probably be more of a metal(just because that's how those songs tend to come out), and although none of their songs are about cutting themselves, that is not what emo means. That is the stereotypical 'emo' fashion style- not the music. Emo music is emotionalcore which

is what Good Charlotte aims towards most of the time- emotional music. Emotionalcore music does not mean that they are satanic nor that they cut themselves. It's more of those tear-jerker songs that do aim towards how life can be. Like I said, emo doesn't mean that it's bad like worshipping satan(which is not actually Satanism~ Satanism is worshipping yourself) and cutting yourself, it's about just being...emotional.
