and Greenpeace mis-translated the expression into English by "Most are not here today"... but original Japanese says that "That whale don't exist there now". "That whale" is a whale he saved. this story won't refer to general whales which GP mis-led as "most whales... today". "That whale" is symbolized a whale. a whale is what he saw, he ate and he loved.

Greenpeace merely uses the animation by misleading to cut off the context and comprehension towardsYamamoto's works. The author regards the issue as contradiction and sign between life and food. very good work, but not for anti-whaling.

a boy confesses he loves eating whale meat, and was hunger at that time. the scene of captured and killed whales by Jp flag-men means that: he realized for the 1st time that his favorite dish depends on taking lives from other creatures. he was shocked by the truth about our food. he saved a whale. he just treated life of a whale as precious one. And he is feeling regret that children don't know there was time when people loved whales and whale meat as lives, food and culture.

I love Yamamuras work, there's one animation I've seen last year A Child's Metaphysics, but now I can't find it anywhere, and I would like to show it to some friends. Does anybody know where I would be able to find it? It was on youtube some time ago, but they removed it. thnx
