  • With Obama you got someone who at least is defending 50% of the uprisings.

and in attempt, to being unsatisfied at this slow but steady progress, You will have

Perry, Santorum, Romney and Gingrich who would continuously support

    these regimes no matter what.

  • his house boy has 3 mobiles

  • very informative

  • Who else noticed the glass eye? Be honest!

  • Stay out of it USA/where is the USA?

  • thanks Al Jazeera for telling the truth, May God bless you.

  • 12:28

when he says "the base", is he talking about al-qaeda (which is arabic for 'the base') or something else?

  • it's disconcerting that the most in depth, intelligent reporting on america comes not from american media, but from al jazz.

  • t is imperative that a critical discourse of US foreign policy is conducted. Like all empires in the age of ''global corporate statehood', policies are puppets of economic dictatorships. There are no borders left in the world of globalization... It's not surprising a leading power is a leading abuser. Please go deeper - not just What... but Why? From world markets to a middle eastern mosque...Both are capable of abuse... without a philosophical answer even the 'truth' becomes propaganda

  • wow,, I'm speechless right now...

  • (THE Gulf)? is there only one Gulf on this planet ? i don't get it, my English teacher was dumb or AlJazeera news! is this about (Aden Gulf) ,(Persian Gulf) or (arab Gulf of Oman) ??

  • looks pretty crimes in bahrain, syria, libya is ugly

  • The poliece didn't open fire in the beginning of the report, they shot tear gas to separate the protesters!!

  • what a great report, also there are many cases and facts are hidden and it suppose to show the whole world what is happening ...

  • I'm proud, I'm Bahraini

  • Thank you, Great Report

  • WHAT A GREAT REPORT

  • lets pray there'll be honesty one day...good WORK

  • Nobody is free until everyone is free.

  • I thought it was very fair and all too true. Our governments defend our national interests but citizens are free to feel empathy for all who are ill treated wherever they live.

  • Oh shit. i just saw it all. Alkhalifas just realy bringing bahrain into Hell

  • Can we get subtitles in Spanish? :)

  • thank you for this. as an iraqi im happy to see that many are noticing America's intentions are not all about their democratic ideals. they can call it "looking after their interests" if they wants but in the end its pure hypocrisy

  • destroying shia mosques, threatening schools girls with rape, firing shia workers, torturing dissidents. You almost want Iran and the Hezbollah to intervene to protect Bahrain's shia and inflict some pain on the Al Khalifa clan. almost.

  • Obviously US will do what it thinks is best for its own interests. Why do people expect any support from the US/western nations. Do these people really think that US cares about the death of 30 Bahrainis whereas they have murdered millions around the world. Grow up u weren't born yesterday

  • AJE, very good reporting. Well done!

  • 12:29 - This is unbelievable. Oil has forced the United States to compromise its values. For how long will U.S. citizens tolerate this?

  • we went freedom

  • Thank you

  • Thank you AlJazeeraEnglis for your coverage you give us hope

    help bahrain

  • Thank u 4 all Aljazeera English crew..

    Good job

  • there are 3 powers in the world Saudi arabia, Israel, and the UK queen.......and all three are as evil as they get.

The US is just the muscle, the bad guy that does the bad things so the real powers dont have to look bad.

Take your lives back, you dont need governments just the ability to protect yourself and he ones you love, governments dont protect you anyway they get you into danger and debt why are they good? people of like minds come together to accomplish whats needed not governments.

  • @geebus80

Well said, though it's not just about looking bad. Having a big ocean there helps to stay insulated from the problems that get created. If the world was a big Pangaea you can bet things would play out differently - they would be right up in everyone's face.

  • Bahrain regime is just the worst ever. INTL community really must help Bahrain for an option to overthrow the rubbish of Alkhalifas out thier country

  • @fillthecredit

Perhaps the "international community" should settle its own affairs first, otherwise all you will get is one oppressive regime replaced by another. It's tragic, I know, but setting a good example starts at home.

  • "Being America’s Ally is More Dangerous than being its Enemy"

    so true lol

  • @nimrooo

Who do you think owns America? None of our governments answer to the people anymore, they answer to the money that lines their pockets.

  • The U.S. will only support "democratic ideals" when it fits into there agenda of free-flowing oil and making sure Israel is protected. They supported Mubarak for 30 years until that was no longer "in-style" and if they did not have the 5th Fleet in Bahrain they would be speaking out against the injustices being committed. Essentially, if you have nothing of worth to further the American burnt-out Neo-liberalism ideology then you are just another peon to Obama and his Wall St. buddies. Wake up.

  • U.S. no friends only interests..

  • Hey! We have democracy here in Bangladesh. it's the most crappiest stinky rotten one out there and we have that! and at least we have that! thank God! But my country is also one of the most corrupt in the world, can't wait to see the fall of this system. huh yeah!

  • @onekdur I don't think the next system will be any better.

  • its clearly all about business BIG BUCKS!!!!! on the other hand the big devil of GCC will do whatever it takes to stay in power "Saudi Arabia". what is happening in bahrain is making the people more angry and passionate about the love of their land, and that is going to lead to more powerful generation which is someday will over throw the entire regime. lets pray for that to happen ASAP

  • i thought they were rapping

  • these journalists have nuts of steel,, very complex situation over there, aalllll over oil.. I pray for peace and for the removal of obama

  • @basslightning1 I pray for the removal of Obama too.

  • Bahrain is not a scary place, this is a very bias report (well paid too) you need to come down here and see for yourself instead of hearing and believing all that you see on tv!! people come on we are on the 22 centuray ...ever heard of propaganda or media fabrication stories....just think.. and pls try to hear what the other side has to say

  • @class123 First, this is the 21st century, not the 22nd. Second, if you aren't in a neighborhood where homes are teargassed every day and night, then you might think it's not scary. Third, nothing needs to be fabricated as there is enough real horror going on it's not necessary. "Other side"? What other side? If you're on the side of murder and torture, then you're on the WRONG SIDE.

  • @class123 i guess the reporter said he was "actually" in Bahrain, so what if he revealed what your government is trying to hide.. so what!! People have the right to make their mind as they wish to, without influence from you, your government..its called freedom of speech.

come on grow up and let the people say what they want,, after all you have the Saudi gov. to back you up and never let the alkahlifa regime to fall. Having this said. At least let the people tell the story the way they see it

  • 13:12 a wink that can tell it all!

    Crackdown officially approved by US

  • @Ziadalabbady

from what I understand, the military has zero interest in relocating the Fifth Fleet, while civilians in the US State department talked about moving the Fifth fleet within the first few days of the protests.

  • @phooey108 Well, you can clearly hear the US State department's POV at 05:53 to 06:18

  • Comment removed

  • @Ziadalabbady

I didnt say "the US State department" I said civilians (with)in the US State department. I have no doubt there would have been a battle inside the State dept. over Bahrain and the side that supported the House of Saud, the status quo and stability won out. Just as there was a battle in the Obama admin between those that supported the Libya war and those that opposed it. just as there was a battle in the admin between the "Assad=stability" camp and the "Assad=illegitimate" camp

  • Comment removed

  • @phooey108 again it is not about the debating wings at Washington DC, it's about the Irony of the result when you watch the head of the state saying on 23:30 to the programme ends.

Ps: there are NATO planes flying over Libya at the moment targeting Gadafes. In Syria the US and French ambassadors turned out with pro-democracy protesters couple weeks ago plus out loud daily political support backed with media coverage!

Oh, have you heard anything about Bahrain protests lately?

  • Comment removed

  • thanx alot all bahrainis need your support

  • It takes a lot of courage to go to these places and report these things so the world knows what is going on.

  • @OpenTheTrollGate Too funny. The Middle East is in turmoil and its the US's fault.

  • @cshook123 QE1 and QE 2 caused this

    man, what an idiot.

  • Excellent.. Just excellent!

  • Fault lines is rightfully exposing the double standards made in libya and in bahrain, but it does not support a view, that NATO would only try to step forward a puppet regime. The fact is: The US does not condemn Bahrains or Saudi-Arabias crackdown enough, but libya is a positive, not a negative example therefor. This hypocricy does not reveal, that the US should not intervene in libya, but that it should much more push forward humanitarian demands in Bahrain also. Good documentary though.

  • Very brave reporting, Bahrain is a very scary place..

  • Why doesn't the US back the revolutions everyday covered up by the Chinese government?

  • Excellent investigation work. Chapeau!

  • Seb Walker has the best reporter nod EVAR!

  • @FerFer1958

  • good work Al jazeera..kudos

  • Let's pray for peace in Bahrain.

  • We hope peace to all peoples and but the rulers do not want the best
