Jimmy used to double up his vocals when recording. That meant recording the vocal line and then recording it again on another track and running the two together to add a fuller sound to the vocals. It's a common trick used by a lot of singers back in the day. Paul would just 'double up' the vocal with Jimmy when they played live.
@JimmyMcCullochFan Oh wow, I thought he wrote the whole song. The 1st time I was really aware of him was in the song Jr's. farm when Paul said, "take me down Jimmy" at 1st I thought it was Jimmy Page doing a studio session, but soon learned that Jimmy McCulloch was a great guitarist in his own rite.
Great video! Paul doesn't stop moving for a second.
And thanks Mikemaniax for the tip on "I See It All". I have the Thunderclap Newman "Hollywood Dream"album and only listened to it once or twice. Nothing seemed to stick out. Everything sounded too much like "Something in the Air". I played back "I See It All" and it's pretty rockin'.
Jimmy McCulloch was a real smart kid- played in so many good bands and in Wings, this song Medicine Jar is an anti drug song which was good for the time but sadly Jimmy died 6 years later at age 26 of a drug overdose in spite of writing this. Drugs are bad )-:
Jimmy was a truly underrated guitarist. Seeing as how Wings did tunes from Paul and Denny's respective pasts (example: Beatles songs, or "Go Now"), it's a shame they never worked out any of Jimmy's stuff from Thunderclap Newman. "I See It All" would've been nice if re-interpreted by Wings, but I guess Jimmy wasn't the kind of guy to keep looking back, and I've heard that he never got on musically with John Keen.
i used to play drums like that too,. .

Why was Paul helping sing lead? He didn't on the proper recording, and it was Jimmy's song. Don't get me wrong, I love Paul, but I wonder why?

@lalovelylinda I can answer that.

@rhythmrancher Irony. Jimmy didn't write the lyrics. He put them to music.
