  • If one could spend only 20 MILLION dollars for the creation of family gardens and school gardens, food security in many countries would be a fact. Imagine 10 out of that 20 BILLION: the world would look completely different. Instead of buying food and transporting it every month to distant, sometimes isolated places as food aid rations, fresh food should be produced locally and in a sustainable manner by smallholder farmers themselves (duplicate successes already booked) . Waiting for GODOT ?

  • Words: G8 and G20 summits this and last year ended with Obama and the other world leaders promising an investment of 20 billion dollars for the next three years on rural development in development countries for small farmers in order to fight poverty. Stop talking, start acting now!

  • It’s only promises! Every conference and summit, such as the G20-top in Toronto lately, ends with promises of Obama and other world leaders. Stop talking, let's go to work!

  • On behalf of G8 Obama promised 20 billion dollars to be invested in food security. So far, farmers are still waiting for that money. The contrast is huge: Berlusconi, Sarkozy and Merkel are enjoying their luxury meal and throwing away the leftovers while people in Africa are starving.
