what mechanism is this? Is it possible to buy small version of this mechanism used in stair lift? I need to build small model version of stair lift for my project in school. HELP
Thanks for posting this. People making fun are apparently fortunate enough to have healthy strong legs and don't have any loved ones afflicted with any terrible diseases. I'm tough......I can take the comments but I'd love one of these. I'm 40 with muscular dystrophy and hopefully I have a lot of fun years ahead of me. I'm not ready for someone to "shoot me" because I need one of these.
Great idea but have we all forgotten what happened in the original "Gremlins" movie and what Stripe, the evil leader of the Gremlins did to Mrs. Teagle? We must learn from history or be doomed to repeat it. The question therefore is; can Gremlins hot-wire this unit's circuitry?
Anyone feel like answering me this - The point of this stairlift?
Just for people with say, bad knees or something that it hurts to climb? I'd think it would be better so you can slide a wheelchair into it so its more wheelchair accesable...
Otherwise if you had a wheelchair you'd need to keep one at the bottom and top of the stairs... which would be gay as poop
@EmoKillla - I know you asked this 2 years ago but I can answer. I have muscular dystrophy. I'm in my 40s. I can walk with a cane but my stair climb at night takes 8-10 minutes because my legs are so weak. But I don't need a wheelchair. I would love one of these and I'm thinking about it.
no hes not stuck the stairlift stops as a saftey feture mr has the choice if he wants to get out of the stairlift or he can carry on rding the stairlift n the newer models they have a grabber attached like the type of thing you would use for picking up litter so theres diffrent ways
Video shows a gentleman riding a curved stairlift. The unit was sold and installed by RampNOW. Call 877-700-7267 for more information. Visit us at RampNOW dot com (more)

Omg that would be so funny if you where in an arguement and your like "Im going up stairs!!!"
And then you hop on the stair lift and slowly glide to the top!! XD

LOL!!! The stairlift would kind of take away the dramatic effect of the exit.

they have sensors on the bottom of the lift so if a dog was to run down the stairs or mr dropped his bag the acorn s/l sensors it and stops the lift

if he drops his bag and the sensors stop the lift, is he stuck there until someone gets home?

oh but what if nanny bic is in it and drops all her biscuits all over the floor?

what if say, a dog decides to run down excitedly whilst you are on your voyage up the stairs? will the dog perish from being crushed by the lift?

What is the maximum speed on one of these bad boys?
Im thinking of getting one for my nanny so she can fly up fast to get her biscuits :)
