  • omg i've been wanting to try this clairol 7th stage creme hair lightener stuff. its not as thick as regular powdered bleach. & i have also heard that it is less damaging?? but anyway... how many activator packets do u use with 1 2fl OZ bottle?? does it depend on the level of ur hair?? 2 for medium dark & 3 for very dark??

  • What blonde do you use ?? I love it

  • you have to use tinfoils ur doing it wrong

  • you are so pretty!

  • do you use bleach packages? i dont know what activator packages are. please explain what you use/what it looks like, love your color. i use a toner but it makes my hair very hard. please help

  • Hey girl! Long time no see! I've been watching yr videso for a few yrs now.I'm now a hair stylist, yay! y parents helped me open a Salon.I did a girl's hair today with this bleach & I love it! I'm going blonde gain myself. I did my hair today to.Well, actuallY I had help with it today at the Salon.I swear red hair dye is the hardest to get blonde! I'm natually a dark blonde, but have dyed it so much that I have to bleach it whenever I want blonde. I'm now gonna keep it blonde.

  • Wish me luck I am trying this technique all by myself today, fingers crossed. Great video thanks for all the tips.

  • You need to stop using this product on your allready bleached hair, maybe you can teach someone to do it ( a bleached blond friend so you can do each other or just a friend) cause if you keep doing it like that you're going to end up with really fried hair.

PS: you have a beautiful color congrats. beautiful face =D

  • hi! I wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I had so much trouble doing retouches on myself. I tried your method using smaller clamp clips and its perfect! Stress free and easy! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Also this video helped me soomuch. Thank you! :D

  • how long do you wait to die ur roots?

  • @Zoeebella What is your natural hair color? Thank you for this video:)

  • @serenityxoxo LOL I'm not really sure. It use to be blonde, but it went darker in high school. I started highlighting it and never went back. I would say it's very dark now.

  • im bleaching my hair to go blonde XO but if you get bleach on the already blonde hair it doesnt go to a differnt blonde color? i dont wanna be blonde with white stripes XD

  • @LittleRed13255 No, I don't have that problem:o) Just don't get it on the ends of the hair. That's where you could cause some damage over time. Sometimes, I'll apply a little lotion to the ends of my bangs to protect them:o)

  • you are really beautiful!

  • @abd200101 Thank you so much:o)

  • Thanks girl!! This was so easy for me!! Now I don't have to go to the salon and can do it myself...

  • @sassy333ful Yay! I'm so glad I could help! Thank you so much:o)

  • I just dyed my hair and it looks so great!!! This is the easiest dye job that I've ever done myself....Thanks:) I usually go to the salon but now I can save way more money....

  • @sassy333ful I'm so glad I could help! Thank you so much for watching:o)

  • I just dyed my hair and it looks so great!!! This is the easiest dye job that I've ever done myself....Thanks:)

  • I prefer brunettes :P

  • @jkappianaq My sister is a brunette! LOL

  • by far the smartest way to do roots that i have seen

  • @ladiematrix Thank you so much:o)

  • I bleached my hair today & then put a med.gold color on mine. The bleach didn't turn it yellow is why i put med. gold blonde over it.Now my hair is a reddish blonde.I can't beleive it even got light much at all.It was really black before.I really want this color.I'm gonna keep on using med.gold blonde for now on, so it gets blonder each time.I had to get 2 things of bleach for my hair.I have alot of hair.U r lucky yrs is so blonde!

  • @Chirsty76 Hi! It sounds pretty! My hair is probably a brown(I've been coloring it since I was a teen). Some hair just bleaches better then others. My sister needs twice as much product and left on for twice as long as mine. Her hair is almost black! Thanks for watching!

  • and sorry for posting more of the same comment! My computer and internet connection is a little screwy! ):

  • @CANNiiiBAL Thank you:o) Sometimes YouTube can be a little wonky!

  • Thank you SO much for this! I'm tired of spending SO much money at salons for something that I could probably do on my own. I haven't looked through all your videos, but if you haven't already made one, would you be willing to make a video showing which products you use, where you got them, & how you mix them? Like the before stuff. That would be amazing!

  • @CANNiiiBAL Thank you:o) Check out the part 1 and it shows more detail of what I do. I also list the products in that video. I'm so glad I could help:o)

  • you are pretty good at that! I just went platinum and my friends love it . I am naturally dkbrwn! Blondes to have fun ahaha

  • @Makeuptootzy Thank you:o)

  • so do you use the same product for just dyeing your whole head

  • @hamsterlover55521 Yes. I did this for my sister's hair. She has black/brown hair and I did the underneath blonde using this same method. You will probably need twice as much or more product depending on the hair length.

  • if u put vaseline all around your hairline, it will act as a barrier stoping the hair dye burning or changing the colour of your skin. xx

  • @MsGazelle123 Thank you:o) I don't have vaseline in the house, but I do use a barrier cream for my pink in the bangs.

  • Hey Deana! How ya doing girl? Thanks so much for making these vids! I think I might have put my pink in a little bit too large of a section but my roots need done again so since I used the Party Time Pink from BeyondZone, I'll probably put the 7th Stage over it for like 2 to 5 minutes and start over. I finally got the platinum that I loooooove with minimal damage with your help! The 7th Stage is better than anything I've ever used! Just gotta get some Cupcake Pink and fix the front! THANK YOU!!!

  • Hi Krissy! I am so glad I could help!

That's what I like about dyeing my own hair, I can decide how much pink I want in it:o) You could just use alot of hot water to wash out the pink. It will help it fade out faster;o) *hugs*

  • so much fun to watch!!! I loved that xxxx

  • Thank you so much:o) *hugs*

  • 5 stars sweetie!!!

  • Thank you so much:o)

  • Im licenced, and all im going to say is you are going to do BURN your hair off from overlapping lightener! Especially in the back - your going at least and inch too far down! Be careful or get someone else to do it because your asking for big trouble.

  • Thank you:o) I've been doing it this way for years. This doesn't burn my hair like a cheap box of dye can. My old hairstylist taught me how to do it:o)

  • Thanks this was really helpful. Never thought about touching up done in that way. I will be using this idea next time. Love your videos and accent. :D

  • thank you this helped soo much <#33333!!!!!!

  • Glad I could help:o)

  • Hey Deana! Enjoyed your hair dying videos today. My hair is shorter than yours, but I basically do mine the same way as you do. I have been coloring my own hair for years. I just did mine last Sat. Thanks for sharing! xoxo :) Carla

  • Hi Carla!

I like being able to dye my hair whenever I want to. Sometimes getting an appointment in a salon can take 2 weeks! Ack!

    Thank you so much:o)

  • I buy all of my hair products, esplly the dying and coloring supplies, at Sally...Thank goodness for Sally Beauty!! lol xo

  • Sally's is awesome! I found it when I was in College and never looked back! LOL

  • I'm going to try this. Ty so much for the tutorial!!!!

  • I don't think my comment posted...

What SHADE should my roots be to know it is time to remove the 7th stage. I can not seem to time it right. I have a bit of brassiness now from not leaving the solution on long enough.

    Thx

  • My problem..I can not judge when to remove the 7th stage. Which means I have some brassiness. I do not want to leave the 7th stage on too long (I do not want my hair to go white). So how do I know exactly what shade to look for..for it to be the perfect time to rinse?

    Thanks

  • I've been colouring my hair (roots and highlights) for about 15 years now and saved a lot of money this way! My hairdresser told me 15 years ago how to do it and what I need to use (I use Schwarzkopf - Igora Royal 12-1 with 30 Vol Developer) and I've been colouring my own hair ever since.

Great vid and good technique, hun! (I use the back mirror though!) :o)))

  • thx loads !!!!! x0x

  • great way to section! seems so obvious now... :)

  • Very helpful!! Thanks so much for taking the time to show how you apply your bleach. I like how you sectioned off your hair.

  • Madonna, this is BRILLIANT! I really love how you did the layers. :D

  • i love blond but i dont think it will look good on me ,but i love your way of application pretty neat ,i would probably make a mess ,and loved that you did something different :) keep it up .could you do style your hair video from scrath ?

  • Well done,very helpful.

    Thanks!!!

  • Deana, you make this look so easy - this is a most helpful and informative hair video. Much appreciated. :o)

  • Thanks for the video!

I also dye my hair myself and always have a bit of a problem because I'm always worried about the back and if I applied enough product to the back and if it came out even and all..

But this really helped me out. Thanks. I will try it out this way, looks easy. :)

    Very helpful :-)

  • AAH i think your hair would look so cute with purple bangs! well, you know, like a lavender-ish? :]

thanks for the vid, I wanna do crazy-colored highlights in the midst of my brown hair, and this could help! :D

  • I have always admired people who can color their hair...you make it look so easy....fabulous video..loved it!! xo

  • don't you have to have a license to buy at sally's or where is that

  • Zoe, you obviously know what you're doing. Have you seen Lanaindian's root video? That's also a great alternative for those of us who want to use a box kit. I spent lots of money having my hair done until I saw Lana's video. I do my own now, using her technique. Great video Zoe. Thanks!

  • you do your hair really quickly with that method brilliant , mine is a lot shorter so i cant section it off an it takes ages lol :o)

  • Thank you so much:o)

  • I cannot do my own hair to save my soul!...it's long thick and very curly..It takes two diff. bottels of dye to color my hair..FUN< FUN!

  • *big hugs*

My hair use to be crazy thick so my mother had to do it for me. It's thinned out a lot now.

  • Thank you Deana ! I love your color hair !

  • Thank you so much:o)

  • This is a clever technique! I am not blond but will use your tips when I color my hair today. You're terrific.

  • Thank you so much:o)

  • Comment removed

  • awesome video! I like your technique!! You make it look effortless! :D

  • Thank you so much:o) *big hugs and love*

  • Hi sweet thing, can't wait to see the end result. You are so sexy, you even look cute with "gop" on your hair, LOL Hubby totally agrees that women are the cutest things ever created!

  • Hi Marinda!

You are awesome! Aww! That's so sweet and even from your Incredible Hulk:o)

    *hugs and love*

  • Great idea with the clips! I color my own hair but usually have to do it when my hubby is home so he can help with the back. :)

  • My mother use to do my hair so the back would get done right. This application really helps!

  • Wonderful videao Deana, but dagnamit now I so wanna go blonde again!! I go to the salon to get it done, but it ends up costing me around £200, and I would love to be brave enough to do this myself as Im sure it would be so much cheaper, but Im just not sure about what bleach, developer, toner etc to use! urgh, im such a chicken! lol x

  • Hunnybun, I've been coloring my hair myself for 26 years. The girls at Sally's are very knowledgable, and if you tell them exactly what you want done, they will sell you the right stuff and tell you exactly how to mix it up. They have all the formulas in a book. Sheesh do you know how much you can buy with that money! You guys in the UK are being mistreated, LOL Good luck hun.

  • Hi, ahh thanks so much for the advice hun, very much needed! lol. I know what you mean about the money thing, its sooo crazy!! I will never spend that much on my hair again! i just keep thinking about how much make up I could have got instead!! lol! thanks again, I will get myself to Sallys asap!! x

  • When I was in college, I had my hair professionally done and it would cost at least $100US. Then I'd get my nails done and my toes another $100US. I have kids now and can't find a babysitter most times. This dye is about $6US total. I do buy the biggest 20 volume and it goes on sale often:o)

  • Hi, It can be super expensive huh! and yep, I have two little rascals (well, 9 & 15) but my goodness they eat the food before ive even got it out of the car, so to pay for my hair to be done now, is just impossible, but now ive seen you do it and btw, you make it look soooo effortless! not sure mine will work out that way, i'll prob end up bleaching the dog and anything that comes in my way! anyway, thanks so much for the advice, I will get to Sallys soon, as that is amazingly cheaper! x

  • If you need any help please feel free to PM me anytime:o)
