Oh please. It pisses me off as a Canadian to see all these people trashing our system. All that stuff about the wait time is a complete lie. The government doesn't run our health care system, the doctors do - the government just pays the bill. In America the insurance companies run the health care system, and decide who gets treatment and who doesn't. That's sick. The doctors should decide who needs care. No one else.

the obama admin is only proposing a "public option" to compete with and keep honest private insurers. no bureaucrat is TELLing you anything. Oh God! Is that an attempt to justify furthering government incompetence? My old war buddy works for a private EMS, and I send mail using FedEx because they've always been faster to me. Law enforcement can only get to me so quickly, so I am personally armed. Military already is one of THE most efficient government entities.

How about big gov that runs medicare to the ground, blowing out SS, funnels tax $ to cronies, stop mandating, taxing, regulating of dysfunction in yet another industry. Allow competition, let customer decide.

Its scorch, burn moving from mortgage, auto industries, increasing with the insurance industries, to eternal gov meddling with any/all that will affect their BOTTOM LINE, ultimately leading to rationing and denial of care.
