Nice song. Found it neat that this is Aishwarya Rai's first film ever. Think you can upload the entire film? Thing is I keep thinking this song is in malayalam because tamil and malayalam are so alike! I also wish Aishwarya would star in a malayalee film because maybe it would improve the malayalee film industry. I'm a malayalee, but our films aren't that great compared to hindi and tamil films.

Thank you for clearing that up... i was amazed that someone would even say something like that... most ppl watch malayalam films even when they dont know the language because of how superior they are in terms of quality acting, plot and direction. (I am talking about the late 80s/early 90s movies which was really a golden age.)

Unfortunately that used to be true.. Not any more..There is still the occasional good one..(AribiKadha for eg) but over the last few years the steady decline in quality is un-mistakable.. Sad really..

I agree with kiprajod, Malayalam movies are good. May be Malayalam Film industry in terms of revenue is not as big as Hindi/Tamil/Telugu but it has its unique good characteristics...I am not mallu, neither can understand much of malayalam...but songs of the movies I have seen had life in it...

this is from a classic movie (but flopped) Irvar. This is based on the life story of MGR (late) and Karunanidhi leaders of two major political parties in tamil nadu. The black and white is to depict the period movies in which MGR acted. Aishwarya performed as his first wife. It is a classic period movie with made with immense detail but unfortunately it was beyond average theatre going audience.

Aishwarya is also portrayed as Jayalalitha. An excellent movie by Mani Ratnam. The heavy use of classical Tamil to depict the times of MGR, Karunanidhi & JJ makes it hard for many people to understand the film (including Tamilians from urban areas). Unfortunately it was not a commercial hit. My all time favorite movie. Excellent music too by ARR.
