  • That's could fit to electromagnetic engine like the Rodin Coil for cars for example, I think.

  • идиот тупой

  • Shit!

  • lol 1:31 he farted

  • traduction svp

  • wtf ?????

  • sound like weathley

  • device that spins when u blow at it!... i must build that...

  • try using two hard drive gyros for the pivot points.

  • damn, ruined a good SSD, turns out they don't have platters...

    :P

  • i'm only a german but i don't understand you :( this video is nevertheless good

  • good luck powering your house with that!

  • then you smell the bad breathing comong out......jajaja

  • Are you serious..?! a 15 minutes long ad and no skip button?!

  • I like this.

  • You could do that with a compressor ;)

  • your accent/pronunciation is very familiar to me, its a bit like the blue eyed ball from portal 2, or Tim Roth from Lie to me (: but you're quite understandable ^^ thanks for this video

  • this guy sounds like Sean fro assassins creeed 2 and 3

  • can i get schematics i want to use it 4 my science demonstrations

  • its a an hard drive patter?

  • 00:1 skip the ads

  • tu eres idiota, a que si??!!

  • its sort of like a hard drive effect in reverse. normally, air from friction with the platters holds the read/write head in midair, but instead of creating wind, now its using it!

  • that gold thing it seems like a computer hard disk for real 0.0 check it out!

  • new hdd =D

  • That is a great experiment, I wonder if drilling holes at an angle would improve efficiency

  • @gazzaka nah....it would hit a point of drag from essentially opposing the angle @ 180 degrees and would generate a type of eddy current ...cept with air.

  • You'd have better luck if you could get the distance between the platters down. Also, most Tesla turbines require 10# or more air pressure to run right even with a good design. A human can only put out about .75#

  • hey, that is actually the advantage of Tesla turbine - you have not apply too much efforts - it works perfectly even on very low rates.

so when talking about demonstration - that is a perfect one ;-)

  • Nikola Tesla, Had it first, He invented it.

There is no need to call anyone dumb.....

    Paul..

  • I've only opened up the newer IDE and SATA drives, but do the old scsi drives usually have that many platters? If so I'm going salvaging to get some and do this

  • Hi

Yes its an old scsi drive, they have lots of layers....

    Paul..

  • Well now we know that this drive didn't have glass disks! :)

  • why NO closed captioned in here video

  • ?? Do not understand ?? Closed Captions?

  • hi ku,

closed captioned is a verison for the deaf / hearing impalired people are reading

  • There does not seem to be a setting?

Can you tell me more about it?

    Thanks...

    Paul.

  • Closed caption is just subtitles or words that pop up when u talk.

  • @kubikop It's too terrible to be worth it.

  • I winder if tis design would be more efficient than a cars turbo ?

  • Its an interesting thought.......

  • jajajajajajajajajajajaj triste, que manera de perder el tiempo, jajaajajajajjajajajaajajajajajjajaaj

  • Did you ever finish the turbine? I would like to see how it all worked out.

  • I always video as I do my projects so You'll see more when I make it. Soon if i get the time I need.

    Paul.

  • They certainly are, I like to make things from what people consider trash. Like this old SCSI drive.

    Thanks for watchin'

  • My brother made one of these years ago and they are truly amazing. One point of correction though: As the air spirals to the center it slows down (it has to because it is giving its energy to the disks) but because it is getting closer to the center it continues to give energy until it finally exits through the exhaust holes. My only suggestion would be to enlarge the size of the exhaust holes so you don't build up any back pressure as you increase the air flow into the turbine.

  • Thanks for this...I am getting a real interest and will be making my own. I think it is great that you showed that the thing can work even with a low mouth produced pressure. Perhaps you should have used a row of straws so that the air was directed mainly between the discs and using all of them, in this "test" the air is being blown largely between the upper couple that the straw is aimed at...so it would be even more effective if the whole of the discs were being brought into play...

    well done

  • What this turbine can do? Please anserw.

    Nice work!

  • Thanks.

It can convert Air / Fluid Pressure into Electricity if you hook it up to a generator.

  • Is it overunity?

  • No but it is very efficient, if you can create the compressed air with high efficiency and then convert it to electricity efficiently. Then its a great way to store energy.

  • How you can prove that it do not exist? Because some HUMAN have wrote about it in "Laws of physic" ?

  • perhaps you should stop listening to your overseers and think for yourself?

  • Nice job... Isn't wonderful the toys that can be made from old computer junk... 20 years ago, I'd have been crying for even an old hard-drive platter... these days, I have crate-loads of the darned things...!! Good source of the old neo magnets, moving-coil galvanometers (of sorts), bearings, Front-Surface Mirrors - all useful bits especially for when playing with lasers. :)

  • Cheers.

I know I have been saving them up for years (if you couldn't tell) till I could find good uses for them....

You can uses the platters for HHO production too, they work very well!

    How is the Album going?

  • I'll send you a link in PM which will give you a sneak preview of what's going on right now... :)

  • What you are conceiving here is a wind turbine. This is a savonius type that provides a 20% efficiency at best.

You cannot generate much energy with this design.

  • Hi, thanks for the comment,

I don't think its a savonius type as it uses the boundary layer effect and these types of turbine can be upto 98% efficient (so Nicola Tesla thought)

    "en wikipedia org / wiki / Tesla_turbine"

I hope Im right anyway :)

  • Ah I get it.

You are gonna use this as a generator to create electricity by pumping air trough it, am I right?

  • Yep, Thats it! I am trying to decide whether to put the magnets on the edge or on the flat side.....

  • You are great with machining things but I suggest that you be extra careful with keeping the disk in balance when you add the magnets. You may even need the equivalent of lead wrights to balance a tire.

A 20000 RPM spinning disk bouncing around the room would be quite dangerous!

  • Thanks for the warning, I will be careful....

  • Great job!

Can I borrow your brain for a while

(not long, just 50 or 60 years)

  • Cheers, I just need to get some Clear Acrylic now I know it works.
