I think its absolutely hilarious that Colbert (and daily) tried a direct satirization bordering on outright mocking of Becks rally. And they only attracted half the atendees. Now dont get me wrong. I love Colbert for his comedy. His politics are a little annoying sometimes as they do come through his character quite bluntly. I turn on Comedy Central to get AWAY from politics and I used to be able to depend on him for that. Not anymore....

His stances on politics were purposefully so convoluted or rediculous that the only effect was one of massive hilarity. In modern times it seems to have become a way to indoctrinate the youth who dont watch MSNBC. What Im saying. It used to be a comedy show that used politics as its butt for jokes. NOW it is a POLITICS show that uses comedy as its medium.

...I love Colbert and Stewart, but is this the best that they did? This sucks! The dialogue and script is extremely awkward. I'm very disappointed. They could've done better than this, but were too lazy with the script for some odd reason. Yeesh...what a letdown.

@zekdom Yeah, its because this really is primarily a political rally. Its a counter rally to Becks. Usually the more political their message is on any given day, the less funny it is. Which is sad because it really undermines their message. If they were just comedy. it would be great. if they were just politics it would be better than MSNBC. Doing both they sacrifice humor. And being funny and hard to pin down they undermine their credibility, so noone notices their politics anyways.

I was there....turnstiles and ticket machines broke down and still 825,000 train tickets sold that day, when usual tickets sold is 325,000 according to newspaper in D.C. next morning. That's 1/2 million tickets...and thousands went through turn stiles without using tickets as they were broken and cops just opened them up at our station where the line was many hundreds at the Belt line station. We took over Pennsylvania Ave. that day!!

They are advocating civil discourse on both sides - and they use Glenn Beck as an example who cannot keep the discussion mature and instead makes it about conspiracy theories of progressive takeovers and linking Obama to domestic terrorists and calling Obama a racist. First of all, I don't know where you're getting your facts, but you might want to find multiple sources. Secondly, while there are some Jews that do bad things, there are also Palestinians who do equally bad things.
