whats the main difference between brushed and brushless? is it worth putting in the extra money for brushless?

@iBMXsexy the brushless version has a brushlss motor and ESC. These are nice upgrades that will help in a few ways... First, it will increase the speed of the car, offering more fun :) Also, brushless motors last longer than brushed motors, so the car/motor should last longer before needing any repairs or new motors.

@zaksk814 the lipo really helps increase speed. It really feels a lot faster on the lipo, I would really recommend the lipo ugprade.

i've got one but when I spin my back tire the opposite tire spins but not the front ones. The same happens when I spin one of the front tires. But when I drive it its 4wd. Is this normal? Is there a prob with my car??

@Rcpalace Dude its not fine like that guy says, If the front wheels dont spin in osite directions when you spin one it means the differential is jammed or the oil is really thick you should open it and have a look or ask your question on a forum like ultimatercDOTcom instead  of youtube.

@Rcpalace The differential isnt locked thats a good thing cuz if you lock it and go around turns its rough but if you lock it you get more torque. So its better to not have it locked unless you drift...

Hello. I just bought the truck version of this RC a few days ago. I opened the box and dropped in a fully charged lipo. When I pull the throttle trigger, the truck doesn't move. The steering wheel on the receiver turns the front tires, but it won't go. If I give it a small shove, it will move at a very slow speed. As soon as I let off the trigger, it stops and doesn't move again. I tried a different lipo and replace the batteries in the receiver with no luck. Please me know if you have any idea

@salazam well I only really have the micro DT and this 1/24, then the rest of my cars are 1/18 or larger. But between the micro desert truck and the rally/sct, I would say I like the rally better, just cus it holds the road so well and has better handling.

@coltonwad for the nimh battery, that may be ok, cus you would be around 8v, the same as a fully charged 2s lipo, but I still don't think that is a good idea... mine as well get the lipo. Don't do this with a lipo, a 4cell lipo would be too much and burn out the motor and esc.

@cristianoid not sure about the fitting, but the 2s lipo is fine with the stock setup, do give it time intbetween battery changes to cool.

Losi Mini 1/24 Rally

Hey, I have a couple questions about the Losi mini Rally.

1.) How long is the charge time and runtime (with upgraded battery)?

2.) I am having trouble finding the battery you have, can you send me the link from where you got it?

3.) Will the extra battery power damage the car or wear it out more quickly?

Actually I'd rather go with a 7.4 volts battery(there's actually a different kind of battery called a 7.4 volts)because although the 2 cell lipo can accelerate slightly faster due to the good boost, the 7.4 volts can reach a slightly higher top speed due to the higher volts and energy :)

@TheLegoScorpion not true actually. the lipo, a 2cell, is actually 8.4volts when fully charged ;p yes, a 2cell is listed as 7.2v, but really it is between 7v and 8.4v during the driving cycle. it has more power and speed than the 7.4v nimh battery in all aspects, speed and acceleration.

@earthling1984 and actually, 2cells are listed 7.4v... but this 1/24 rally comes with a 4.8v nimh, so the lipo is higher anyways. they also now offer a 3cell 11.1v lipo for the 1/24 rally; i believe you should not use this with the stock motor though, only an upgraded brushless, but I could be wrong.

@Nnitro12 with stock motor, I think you would be lucky to get it over 20mph, but that is pretty darn fast for such a small car. with upgraded motor people have gotten these going much faster.

@CannonChest they are the same, just different bodies. lipo gives a good 10 to 15minutes driving. I am unsure about brushless for this car, check out the horizon hobby website. I think the rally already has bearings also.

I too got this awesome veh and 2 packs of lipo, I noticed running lipos on this heats up the motor and ESC pretty quick I suggest running it for 5 mins and giving it a cooldown once in awhile =D

@269shredder269 i think they included extra pinions, and maybe extra spur gear. these are the gears that are on the motor, and first connecting to the motor. They are easy to change, all u have to do is pull off one, and put on a new one. U must first remote the gear box cover over the motor pinion and spur gear; i think it has like 3 screws.

If I owned this car I prefer box stock with stock battery at slower (better scale speed.)

Together with scale race track for best performance of the stock vehicle.

Maybe 24 x 40 race track and 6 cars running same race.

I disagree with younger racers that expect 1/24 to drive 1/10 speeds and handle like 1/10

1/24 is smaller , drive it slower, and commit to proper size tracks.

Do not drive on 1/10 scale tracks.

@cutwagman very true. Smaller and lighter = less stable at higher speeds. Using these cars as they were meant to be driven is best. If you want to upgrade, go with ball bearings, new wheels/tires, new springs, and maybe some other parts like that. I would say get the lipo as well, for the bit of extra speed it gives, but nothing crazy like a brushless setup, unless you only want to do straight fast speed runs.

I can't figure out how to get full power forwards with my micro. It's pissing me off. I've switched motor wires and reversed throttle settings. Do you have any idea how to fix it? I'm running a 300mah Losi lipo and the normal nicd sometimes. It's clearly faster in reverse. Thanks for your help.
