You have a old graphic card or you play everything on the onboard of the pc if you have a old graphic card than download the UBYTE4N vertex data Driver and if you do everything on the onboard than must you buy a graphic card

By the way i have an intel 256mb intergrated graphics and i tired COD6 MW2 not working. ITs asking for Vertex data..which means HIgh end games dont work on intergrated graphics anymore. U need to buy and install a seperate graphics of 1GB or atleast 512mb or so. U can also try "3d Analyser" software to convert your RAM into GRAPHICS MEMORY!! CNT believe wat i just said?? here is the link-

When i start up cod4 The logo comes up then the screen goes black like it is about to work but then it goes to the desktop all magnified. (I play in a lower resolution) Single player works just fine. IT is just multiplayer.

Ive tried re-installing it 3 or 4 times.

I also tried to plug up the microphone and it didnt work.

the best thing to do is dowload it from the internet, u dnt need to install coz its a download and also u dnt need to have the best grafics card, TRUS ME. im on a laptop that only has a 2gb ram and i run PERFECTLY, look on youtube to find a video 4 a download to cod4 u need to dowload 6 parts or u can wait a day and download it as a torrent

COD 4 needs a graphics card that supports both vertex and pixel shader v2.0, what most onboard cards don't. There is no way to get around this issue besides buying another graphics card.The other components of your PC would be more than sufficent to run COD.

It means your computer's graphics card doesn't support the minimum requirements. It should say what is required on the back of the box you got it in or on the magical internets. What I would do is first install the latest patch (1.7 I believe) and if that doesn't help it is your specific computer not having the capability to run the game. If that's the case your either gonna need to get a better graphics card or use a different computer that DOES support the requirements.

And click the first link above,

Then choose the game and its gonna analyze if cod4 can be run on your PC, or barley etc...

yeah i think i know what the problem is but i cant tell you the exact details because i cant remember them..... but any way ........your computer isn't able to play the game because you don't have a high enough graphics card in your computer. This happened on my main computer when i first tried to play it.... i read the requirements on the cod4 box it came in and it told me what kind of graphic card it needed. you can get the card you need at a local best buy or circut city.
