so do you have the sony HDR-XR500V?

the smooth slowmotion is a buy for me and did you have to slow it down through a 3rd party program?

Yes, the 500V. The slow mo is the actual speed from the cam, no software slowdown necessary! I might add that slowmo isn't actually recorded in HD, only SD; not sure why Sony did this, but as you can tell, it's still pretty clear.
