  • saudade

  • sweet nostalgia

  • Well, they just gave the whole game away.....XD

  • for some reason, the announcer sounds like THE CRITIC

    Conker Twelve Tales

    Yeah right

  • I never subscribed to Nintendo Power, this VHS just randomly showed up in my mailbox one day.

  • My brother and I had our own rooms and our own TV's. One day we were watching TV (same channel but in the different room) and the Banjoo Kazooie commercial came on saying it was out for the N64. I got excited and ran out of my room to tell my brother the news. My brother was thinking the same thing. We ran into each other into the hallway yelling Banjoo Kazooie. Then we both got stitches on our chin. True story.

  • @chosunpeople That has got to be the most badass tale I've heard in a while XD

  • Wow I remember getting this from blockbuster way back in the late 90's, a part of my childhood, thanks for posting this.

  • Get N or get out! I miss playing N64 with my brother (and by playing, I mean watching him play)

  • Thank God they shit on Twelve Tales. I mean you already had Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Mario 64 and a little later Banjo-Tooie. That's more than enough adventure collect-a-thons. Nintendo was smart, they made their masterpiece, Mario 64, and moved on. But Rare was like, WE NEED MOAR COLLECT-A-THONS, 120 stars? how about 200 BANNANAS!?

  • @MajBlood You mean 201 Banana's (There's the secret Rareware one you get from the Banana Fairy for 101%) But personally I didn't find DK 64 all that bad sure the repeating mini-games got annoying and some of the races ticked Me off just as much as the Canary Mary Cloud Cuckooland race in Banjo-Tooie, but the Golden Bananas that you got by doing actual 3D platforming similar to Banjo-Kazooie were actually fun to get and I mean there were some fun moments as much as frustrating ones.

  • oooh, best times ever

  • Good times, good times...Definitely one of the best action-adventure games on the N64, if not of all time.

  • Wow i remember the last time i watched this video was in the summer 1998 on vhs, I was saving my money like crazy just to buy this game but didnt get it till Christmas of 1998. But this game was the hook @ that time !

  • Anyone remember the radio from the Brave Little Toaster? Ya, that's the narator. Awesome.

  • 5:11 71 MUMBO TOKENS?!?!

  • i still have the vhs of this

  • Oh, the memories... i miss the 64 era so much. Rareware needs to come back to Nintendo, where they had more creative freedom.

  • whats the song at the end?

  • I want them to remake this for the 3DS

  • 9:34 Tweleve Tales? Well that's interesting, because the game NEVER got released, unless you count Conker's Bad Fur Day, but the video was made in I think 1998 and the game was released in 2001.

  • @JDM9616

Twelve Tales was what Conker's Bad Fur Day was originally going to be before they changed it to Bad Fur Day. Twelve Tales was slated for a 1998 or 1999 release, but the game was cancelled because people passed it off as another kiddie platformer, so Rareware re-worked the game into an adult platformer with cute graphics, and thus BFD was born.

  • @Nikko19941 HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THIS. :O

  • my 1st N64 game

  • <3

  • HOLY FUCKIN SHIT JOHN LOVITZ!!!! :O

  • I still have this, with all 3 game slots completed and stop n swop activated >_<

    EEKAM BOKAM BOOGALA :')

  • Speaking of the song at 9:00, another hard-to-find song from another Nintendo promotional product is the one that plays during the intro of the Zelda Twilight Princess DVD that came with a Nintendo Power magazine.

  • I remember when I was a kid they used to send me these promos on VHS tapes in the mail. Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh did this too, and both of them had bad rap songs in them.

    LOL marketing

  • Holy shit, it's Jon Lovitz!!!

  • @Toad64 I used to have this video, I think I still do but I cannot be sure unless I check around my house. But man...I used to watch this over and over again. I loved it. xD Thank you so much for posting this up.

  • wow

I haven't seen this on over.. I don't know, maybe like 13 years.

I was about 4 years old when I got this in the mail as a VHS.

    Good memories.

  • i have this game

  • I remember when this came in the mail as a vhs tape. After memorizing the entire thing, I went out to Blockbuster video. They had like 20 copies of the game there......All rented out. >_<

  • I used to have this memorized...

  • do you ahve this in a vhs tape witha pretty cool looking box?

  • @raskafari7273 i do, i used to play it all the time when i was a kid when i got frustrated with the game

  • @TheRockMouse haha me too

  • I didn't think I needed another reason to love this game, but here it is.

  • What's the name of the song at 9:05?

  • @TehDanceMaster I've been trying to find it for like, forever. It's retardedly hard to find.

  • The best version is, was, and always will be, the Nintendo 64 version. Amen.

  • I have the Diddy Kong Racing promo video, but I never got this one. Oh well, I have the game on XBOX Arcade :D

  • Best game evar! Hehe

  • best 10:14 of my LIFE

  • I remember watching this video way back when. I am sure that I still have it lying in a box somewhere.

  • I literally just found this VHS tape in a random box of mine. Had to look this on youtube since i have no VHS player near me. haha

  • @Blackfoxninja same here + I get to show it to my gf since we're both fans ^_^

  • i miss this game.

  • Does anyone know where you can download short video game clips ? I need some for this video im making.

  • Oh man, Twelve Tales: Conker 64. Remember when that game came out? It was great.

  • @StarkMaximum That game was never released.

  • my mom brought this videotape home before she bought me the game, thanks for uploading.

  • I see you have adds on the vid me too APM claims they own it

  • jon lovitz?

  • LAMO @ "12 Tales: Conker 64"

  • NOOO!! THAT ENGINE ROOM GIVES ME NIGHTMARES!!!

  • 7:30 LMAO

  • The narrator reminds me of Conker........I have no idea why. lol

  • just finished it 5 minutes ago! love it

  • That thing came to my house one day and I wasn't even a Nintendo Power subscriber back then. Weird, isn't it?

  • so many puns...

  • the only things i can think of is that this was before it was released or they switched around sound effects. i got this game the day it came out so im not sure

  • is this an earlier version of the game? the audio sounds different.

  • I've got this crazy video (and the one for Diddy Kong Racing). Good memories. I still wish they'd make a sequel that's more like the first game and NOT Nuts and Bolts.

  • after realizing all these years it was John Lovitz narrating, I now suddenly imagine The Critic's Jay Sherman reviewing the game.

  • I miss the nintendo shops and such 3:

  • So....much...nostalgia....AAAHHHHH <3

  • Epic

  • It's not the "HMS Gruntilda"; it's the Rusty Bucket!

  • Greatest game ever. But honestly, if I'd never played before and all I knew of it was this trailer, I'd have predicted utter failure.

  • Rare was on top of the world in the 90's.

  • Heyy..I still have this vid. haha. Thanks for uploading.

  • Was'nt this guy in the Brave Little Toaster film?

  • Was this the video that came on a vhs tape? I have that video on vhs but I don't have a vhs player!!!

  • Theres no game like banjo kazooie

  • LOVE THIS GAME!!! The ORIGINAL GAME from N64..NEEEEEEDS to come out on Wii...not the Nuts and Bolts crap..

  • 4:43 Lmao.

  • I wish I was around during the time these videos were given out. They look so old-fashioned corny and awesome -

    wait, was that Conker?

  • @Vianerd1 yes but it was the beta game not the game we now know

  • Why John Lovitz? o_o

  • Artie Ziff!

  • Man this brings back memories. I loved this game, especially the level where you get to be a Bee, buzzing around was so fun ^_^

  • the narrator is actually reading lines out of the world descriptions found in the original N64 game manual.

    i lol'd as a huge BK fan.

  • The narrator is the Radio from the Brave Little Toaster!!!!!!

  • Is that John Lovitz?

  • the game is so perron XD 0_0

  • Hmm, I'm glad they didn't keep those sound effects they used back then. I think that it's a bit of a shame they gave away so many things about the game in advance though.

  • I was so excited when I received this tape in the mail! I liked Banjo-Tooie more though!

  • This brings back so many memories. I still play Banjo-Kazooie on the N64 and can't believe how awesome it is. I was so excited when I got the VHS promotional video in 1998. Banjo-Kazooie is one of the best action-adventure games ever. And Diddy Kong Racing is probably the best racing game ever. (Sorry, Mario Kart).

  • OMG this brings back so many memories. I still play Banjo-Kazooie on the N64 and can't believe how awesome it is. I was so excited when I got the VHS promotional video in 1998.

  • Clankers Cavern was the worst world ever.

  • lol 12 tale conker 64

  • Jon Lovitz actually suits this game's cartoon atmosphere rather well.

  • So THAT'S how you beat those damn ghosts :/

  • i love that voice

  • oh god i love jinjos so much

  • EEKAM BOKAM

  • @sboss YOU GOT A MUMBO TOKEN LOL

  • @sboss EEKAM BOKAM OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOGM

  • bucktooth shrew!? I didn't even know bottles had teeth? l_l

  • I love the little "N" ^^ that was always my favorite part when playing this as a kid XD

  • One of the best games I had for my Nintendo 64! When I was younger I played 9 hours straight! Might not seem like to much for some gamers but a 8 year old girl that was a long time.

  • i wanna punch the narrator in the throat

  • lol he just ruined the whole, game by telling u all the worlds!!!! lol awesome game!

  • Thats awesome they got Jon Lovitz to do the voice over for this.

  • i wish i could play it one more time...sniff:(

  • @wilber818 u can buy this game off xbox live for 1200 microsoft points

  • hey! its Arty Ziff! :D this isnt the last we've seen of Arty. ;)

  • I own the VHS of this got it at a yard sale thinking it was a movie based on the game.

  • This makes me realize, Rareware fucking sucks now. Why did they have to move to Microsoft? They had a great relationship with Nintendo, and then Microsoft with all their corporate greed decides to buy them. Rareware is pretty much not giving a shit about them and now sucks at developing their games. Rare, PLEASE go back to Nintendo.

  • @Marwarluigi The Stamper Bros. (Rare's former owners) offered the company to Nintendo. Ninty couldn't buy it because the GC was doing poorly, so they refused. The Stampers then put their share of the company on the market, and Microsoft bought it. Then Nintendo sold the rest of their shares to MS. Rumor has it that the Stampers are trying to buy their old IPs like Banjo and Sabreman back. Since Rare only seems to be focusing on Kinect, at MS's bequest, I think they should just sell them.

  • @TheHPArsenal That is AWESOME news if its true! The Stamper bros haven't been up to much at all since Rare. Also, apparently Chris Seavor (Conker designer) wants to buy Conker back.

  • @mrplow321 IF (and that's a big "if") Microsoft decides to sell the IPs, they'll certainly be asking for quite a bit of money. I know the Stampers have quite a bit. Chris's ideas for Conker before Microsoft canned it were great. Turdtanic, anyone? Such a shame...

  • this game is easy but fun to pass, the hardest part is collecting all 100 notes in each world and ya have to start over if u dnt get them all at once

  • Why did everything in the 90s sound so cheesy? I luv this game but the voice over was cheesy.

  • Am I the only one who called it "Banjo and Kazooie"?

  • @Zawicki1 no

  • @Zawicki1 i did when i was little. haha.

  • Good old Jon Lovitz. BK stands the test of time as a true classic...it was and still is a feast to the eyes with wonderful gameplay, and an unforgettable soundtrack.

  • love this game, cool commenter. i cant wait till it comes out!!! wait a second...

  • Oh my gosh, I remember getting this in the mail. XD

  • This really was an incredible game...they just don't make em like they used to

  • I still have this video cassette rofl. AND I LOVE IT! XD

  • That voice over almost made the greatest game in existence look gay.

  • @sync380 you have a good point if i didn't know this was a great game and saw this before i never would have bought it

  • I just finished passing Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie on my Nintendo64 yesterday :D

  • @Legend788

Damn, all at once? You must have been playing for 20 hours straight

  • omggg Ocarina of Time (at the end) x___x aww this was back when it was 'coming soon', how cute lmao. Gahh I want the little chunk of 90s i had in my life back!!

  • This is better then super mario super show

  • haha! That's fucking Jon Lovitz! Awesome!

  • holy crap, i think i still have this video on VHS

  • I still have my nintendo 64 and this game plus the other Banjo game. Oh the 90's where the best.

  • this is one of my fav games on 64

  • @AbridgerKittynMidna The gameless PS3 myth comes from the fact that it was released last, because sony decided to finish their system before pushing out unlike every other developer.

  • THIS BOOM SONG HARD TO FIND

  • It's the critic!

  • is that jon lovitz's voice??

  • I would get sick of the game... watch the tape...then wanna play again.

  • I LOVED playing this game when i was little :D

  • OMG MY CHILDHOOD! I have this on VHS and when my game broke I used to watch this instead!

  • i feel bad for my mom.i always wanted this as a kid but i had the tape so i would make her play it for me..so finally she got me the game.XD

  • You could play Banjo today and it would be just as fun as it was over a decade ago...one of the funnest adventure games ever made.

  • I have this video on tape since i was a kid =3

  • I saw a VHS that has this on it at a flea market

  • I used to have this tape! I lost my tape when moving to a new house though :(

  • Nintendo>Microsoft

  • @Zirocket Nintendo > The World

  • N64>Ps3=Xbox360<N64

  • @ARVMC Amen to that. Well, I have a PS3, and dislike the 360. Mostly I use my PS3 for movies, and I'm keeping my N64 dust-free.

  • I remember getting this on Vhs in the mail

  • Oh god Clanker... When I played this when I was a kid he scared the shit out of me when I first saw him!

  • wow look at conker it doesnt even look like the same game

  • @Killerrevue thats because its not conker tales 64 was originally supposed to come out before conkers bad fur day but they scrapped the whole project and released bad fur day instead.

  • 8:53 wtf that was most definately not in the original where the hell is that

  • @T00stoopid It's when you enter the church in mad monster mansion

  • I love this game so much

  • @Banjox189 9:10 what song ??

  • N65 ftw screw ps3 and xbox360 :P

  • @Pr0rk3r I'm with you my friend

  • Also, the name of the ship isn't the HMS Gruntilda, it's the Rusty Bucket.

  • OMFG I HAD THIS VIDEO! Dearest Toad64, do you have the Star Fox 64 one by any chance? I had that one too but lost it years ago.

  • Ha, back when Conker was meant to be for kids. Twelve Tales?

  • graphics remind me of Conker and I'm pretty sure both were made by Rare. if this game is half as good as Conker's BFD, i'll be happy =D

  • This game is a childhood memory to me. I played all through pre and elementary school.

  • so. many. puns.

  • I remember getting a VHS in the mail of Banjo Kazooie ads. Idk if it was this though!

  • Did he just say Egg Shitin? XD

  • Music at the end - www2(dot)playkpmmusic(dot)com/pages/download/download_list(dot)cfm?SID=2003604064&projectId=0&trackId=81424&reportId=0&opentracks=

  • This video has Spoilers off the Wazoo.

  • @daddyyankee90213 "Boom" - Jan Cyrka & Toby Bricheno

  • I LOVE Banjo-Kazooie, but when i went to goodwill ( To find old games) I found this vhs sealed...is it worth a lot? Couldn't find a sealed one anywhere on ebay...

  • Dude, they need to make a nintendo 64 v2. I need to relive all the classic games like this one, conkers bad fur day and the rest... stupid wii... they need to either make a really good one on the wii, or remake the 64 into the greatest system in history!!
