  • omg cool i felt buterflys and bad aduio but cool vid OMG

  • thats well high lol

  • Do you jump the t-5 or the t-10d? either way you guys are awesome

  • @brutus082 It actually looks like a MC1-1D with an old style deployment system.

  • Is it weird that I always kind of enjoyed spinning around in the air like that if my risers got tangles?? Very cool, I've always wanted to try a WWII style jump ever sense I went to Airborne School.

  • my grandpa served in wwII and he had a group of b-17 he had to control i wonder if hed jump out of any c-47 for like practice maybe but all i know i hope he is resting in peace R.I.P

  • So people can actually jump out individually after they take the jump school?

  • @ThunderAppeal Yes. Info at the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team website.

  • hello from pathfinder :) we jump in europe. I just got back from jumping at Driel DZ at oosterbeek (market garden) , we used 'Drag em oot '

  • Thanks for the scary memories ! I've made 25 jumps out of the Gooney Bird all with the old T-10. "Feet and knees together eyes on the Horizon !" and yank those rear risers before you hit the ground !

  • i wanna jump out of a C 47 with WWII gear =\ SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!!

  • what will happen if you fail?

  • my grandfather told me to write this "i was a veteran of d-day,market garden, and the battle of the bulge when youjump out it was not like how that wasonly market garden was but d-day was hell i think 50 mg42 rounds riped throw my shuit and like 10,000 rounds of aa fire whent right by me

  • @makememoney121 At the time did your Grandfather have any idea what he was in for?

  • so how long did it take you to hit the ground

  • Let up slowly on the toggle to prevent oscillation. Great exit. Can't figure out those twists airborne but, good job getting them out of the old MC1-1

  • what do you do after you land?

  • id love to try to jump and float down to conquor my fear of hights

  • Wow!,.....How Freaking Cool, like a time warp....and your there Dropping in WWII somewhere in Europe. Well done! thanks for the Post.........

  • I'm visiting the US June/July for 5 weeks. Any jump schools being run over that period?

  • its looks like a video game form the cam

  • holy crap that looks scary

  • nice vid thats pretty cool!

  • good

  • Nice vid! I was expecting to see silk; it kind of bummed me out to see MC-1 canopies. Plus you guys did jump pretty high, but I guess we will give you the added height and MC-1 as a reward for doing it for us in the first place. I jumped into Ft Campbell when the 101st Convention and Week of the Eagles occured same time, same place for the first time ever. They took all former 101st members from Ft Bragg and loaded us on two C-130's for the WWII vets in attendance.

  • I once had the contact info for you guys from an airshow but due to a hurricane I lost it do you mind sending one my way? I'm an 82nd vet and would love to jump again

  • Max google WWII Airborne Demonstration Team, or looks at the end of the video, our .url is on there.

  • Yeah Brasspie,

I noticed the incorrect hookup as well! It was done by someone wearing officer insignia (Vertical white stripe on helmet). Also, the steerable chutes were not used during WWII. And the officer was always the first out (at least in the 82nd). Otherwise, it was pretty cool!

  • Yes, they did have steerable chutes in WWII.

  • man

    that's sooooooooo cooooooool

  • looks like a vido game cool by the way

  • coool !! super !!

  • Y'all were mighty high up there. It sounds pretty quiet there.

  • On the 2nd chalk (set of Jumpers), the jumper right in front of the cameraman put the hook on wrong. The opening part faces the door.

  • Our procedures dictate that we place the static line hook with the opening away from the door. So, while not correct for modern airborne jumping, it is proper for our deployment system. If you look closely at all the jumpers we are all hooking up the same way.

  • I am not a veteran, but I served with the NZ Army for many years and was Para trained. I have always wanted to jump out of a C47. There's a ground training component, I assume. How long does that take?

  • We welcome folks from overseas; we actually had a guy from New Zealand a couple of years ago. We do have a 9 day jump school for those who want to jump with the team that have no prior airborne training. For those that are prior airborne, either a 3 day refresher course, or the full jump school is required, depending on how much experience you have and how recent it is.

  • Excellent!!! Thanks Mate. I'll see you there next year, then.

  • Will be doing this at Ft. Polk the 2nd of Sept 2009 :) Knees to the Breeze!

  • im love airbone

  • sorta looks like that airborne video game or whatever its called

  • aw man thats awsome would love to do that XD

  • Shell out a couple thousand you can

  • Wow in WWII that fall must have seemed like HELL it takes so long...must have been 100 times longer under fire. But I was amazed..that landing was so slow (though probably not as much as it seemed it looked like landing on a bunch of fluffy kittens, just as Ive been told with the american chutes :P)

  • were y'all afraid of heights?

  • Good jump man!! well don!!!

  • were can you go to go jump in the old airborne style? as opposed to skydiving?

  • WWII Airborne Demonstration Team (shown in this jump) in Frederick, Oklahoma. We have two jump schools a year in January and July to train new jumpers, and training weekends once a month. You can find our website by searching google for airborne demonstration team.

  • Can someone from overseas come and jump with you?

  • @coastdef what would happen if you are afraid of heights.

  • @gamezonic you'd come down, but needing new underwear xD

  • @thegreek14 wowww

  • this is like call of duty...or medal of honor....

  • I just watched my dream on youtube.

Awsome! even if I died doing that, at least I would die wearing a steel pot and Corcorans. Screeemin Eagles!

  • ohhh my god ty so much for this!!!!!!!!

  • is that a hole in your chute? lol 6:24

  • No. You can see the opening at the apex of the chute in the center, which is part of the design. You can also see the drive slots (that make this model of parachute steerable to an extent) around the perimeter of the chute.

  • nice vid ^^

  • Before die, I wanna do that!!!

    101st airborne ever!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • omfg

    great!!!

  • pretty cool man i got nervous 4 two secs i taught it was me about to jump lol

  • must have been though too be a mamber of airborne in WWII

  • GG! those krauts would have eaten led :p

  • Yep, many memories of that when I was in the eighty-duece. Was good to watch. Made me miss it even more than I already do! :(

Dang twists! I got them on occasion too. Once so bad I thought it was gonna snap my neck! Next time hit those quick disconnects from your harness. Ya don't wanna get dragged! Good vid!!

  • Beautiful! Ahhh...the memories! I can still smell it--avgas and parachute nylon.

    All the way!!

  • the americans came in a little late though

  • if we wouldnt have joined WWII Europe would be controlled by germany.. we came in at the endingsaving frances and englands tail

  • that looks scary... BUT FUN!! i wanna go!!

    XD

  • looks a bit like market garden hehe nice vid

  • that was great. nice vid.

  • how high do you jump at

  • The jump shown was from 1500 feet above ground level (training jump). Airshow jumps are conducted from 1000 feet above ground level.

  • 650ft is pretty normal...with T10-B even 330ft is enough

  • ... without them you would be speaking the same language you r now, WWII was not won by the Americans it only tipped the war in the allies favor. the allies up to that point had already fought 1 WW and had made it through MOST of WWII the only thing America did was defeat Japan and end the war 3 years earlier then it would have been otherwise

  • America Did More Than Just That... People Just Don't Realize It.

  • The US came in less than half way through actually. And the major fighting was just starting in Africa when the American's joined in. The US fought in Africa, which the Canadians didn't. I'd shut my mouth if I were you. You say beat Japan like it's not big deal. Canada saw it's first combat in 1941, the same year the US did.

  • Were there some missing piece's on the edge of your chute ??

  • The missing panels are part of the design of this parachute (MC-1C). They allow it to be steerable to a limited extent.

  • OK i got tingles when you jumped. Absolulty awsome. Wow just wow. Good video man

  • its like losing your virginity all over again

  • ya nice

  • nice jump-great vid from the bottom of my heart

  • sick. i'm thinking bout joining the airborne myself. don't know how that will turn out though...

  • were you a bit scared? because if i was there i'd piss myself if i would jump

  • nice standing landing

  • Where did that jump take place and were those chutes -1 chutes? Looks great I would love to get back out there. Loved it good job.

  • Jump was at Frederick Oklahoma. Chutes were MC-1C's. For more information, go to wwiiadt (dot) org.

  • man thats was awesome

  • i want to be a adt

  • awsome, i'm twelve and i wish i could have been in the airborne back in the 1940s. It looks really cool.

  • Did you watch "Band of Brothers" yet?

  • yes i did, and i would risk my life to jump out of a plane and kill nazis for my country any day.

  • Ok... but you saw episodes 9 and 10 ryt?

  • thats a video game---alot different than real life

  • lol for ure county xDDDD btw nazi germany just declared war , they didn't attack the usa. so FOR myy country doesn'T fit.

  • OK, how about this "for my country" Without the intervention of the USA we in England would be living under facist rule. So thank God for American friends you ignorant person.

  • actually thats very senseless what u say. of course the usa helped england to fight against nazi germany. i just said that america wasn't literally attacked by nazi germany. germany declared war against the usa but they never attacked them in their own country. forget bout it now this is past btw the jump is kool xD

  • actually i just watched Hitlers Lost Sub & u-boats sank many ships & vessels along the East & Western US coast. 1 particularly deadly one on the New Jersey coast i think sank a merchant ship killing over 100 ppl. But a week later & Japan attacked so...

  • true. I think you guys just took mumgamer's first message the wrong way.

  • WOW!

  • That was AWESOME (Y) great!

  • Looks like Call of Duty but real life! Great Vid 5/5 :D

  • You mean, Medal of Honor

  • Thats badass........

  • Great Video

  • That was FUCKING AWESOME !!!!!

  • that was sweet

  • :D 5/5! Awesome!

  • lol oscillation sucks.

  • lmao "I'll have the chicken please!" hehe awesome vid!!! i always thought the airborne were so cool, lol i dont think i have the balls to do that though :P

  • that was awesome.

  • Jump from a C-47? not all the airbornes have this honor, i am Honduran an i send you 2 videos filmed in Guatemala where we jump from a C-47 two times, this plane is in good conditions, i hope you like it. !have a good jump!

  • How high was the jump

  • This was a training jump; the team conducts those at 1500 feet AGL. Demonstration jumps at airshows, veterans reunions, etc are conducted at 1000 feet AGL.

  • that was so cool thene i grow up i am giong to be in airborne !:phow was it stand in the door?

  • Airborne all the way

  • Wow a once in a life time experience. That must have been cool.

  • nice i sooooo wanna do that, isnt it pretty expensive but? and you need some sort of parachutist license? ive done parachuting before, but not solo, jumping out of a plane is both scary and fun as hell, i cant imagine how scary it would have been to do it under gunfire

  • i'd like to do that 2, omfg that look so fuking awesome

  • my grandpa did this

it was kool to know what he went through

  • cool

  • I cant imagine what it must have been like, specially jumping under fire and at night too. Having to hook up with any friendly you could find..guess that 'cricket' saved lives eh?!..Airborne all the way! God bless those Veterens.

  • How do we count in the Airborne, paratrooper????

  • That is amazing

  • Very nice. Gives you some idea how it was. Thanks to the WWII veterans!

  • that looks so fun

    parachuting looks scary though

but yeah i wanna try that

  • Try that when ur fired at and u need to land and then quickly get a weapon... WW2 was difficult...

  • Have you guys ever thought of re-enacting a airborne mission with paintball guns... Germans on the ground, americans jump from the planes with parachutes.... Would be a fun experience.

  • or airsoft the guns are more realistic and cheaper

  • what happens if you get stuck in the tail of the plane????????

  • Jumpers are trained for every possible problem; however, the parachute deployment system is specifically designed to prevent that from ever occurring.

  • Man I wish I could do that. One of these days I will =D, I hope

  • I actually have a C47 jump on my log, lol!

  • amazing, so doing that!

  • WWII troopers didn't have parachutes with toggles.

  • thats what they want you to think.

  • Smart arse!!

  • what are these guys? are they just reenactors who know how to jump out of a plane with the chutes?

  • this is really kool but i thought that ever1 got off of the plane together not in two trips

  • It depends on the size of the drop zone. For our demonstration jumps, it takes a fairly large drop zone to put out 20+ jumpers, so often we use two sticks. The same was true during WWII; most drops in Europe used a single stick, but in the Pacific (the 503rd jump on Corregidor, for example), the drop zones could be very small, requiring multiple passes per airplane.

  • so how many jump rosters have u been on

  • None!!! We've got places on the team for folks that don't want to jump out of airplanes, and I'm one of them!

  • I would love to do that. How do I get signed up? Do I have to have a skydiving license to get started? I have jumped once tandom.

  • I would love to do that. How do I get signed up? Do I have to have a skydiving license to get started?

  • You can find out more by going to wwiiadt (dot) org

Check out the sections about the team and jump school.

  • were does this take place

  • Frederick, OK. For more information, see wwiiadt dot org

  • Cool ver COOL!!!!!!!

  • at our local air museum we have a c-47 just like that one used for delivering paratroopers on D-Day. we also have a Harsop glider, and i thought they were much bigger. How many troops could a Harsop Glider carry compared to a C-47? I hav been to narmandy and i love learning about this kind of stuff

  • In laymans terms isn't that plane also called a "Dakota" ???

  • "Dakota" was the name the used by the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries. It's official US name was the "Skytrain".

  • Thanks)!

  • my grand father was airborne and he jump from this type of plane and he said to me when he was in this plane then he dont want jump bud then he heard guns(flaks) then they must all jump or they will die and he saw that the flak destroys the plane after he jumps from it - COOL or NO?

  • bellooooo!!!!!!!!!

  • That was fucking cool! a first hand look of what early paratroopers did.

  • how much does it cost to jump from a c-47?

  • PREPARE TO LAND ! LAND ! 1500 agl baby !

    nice job Tom Rupert ADT

  • hes got the 2nd worst place on that plane.

    2nd stick

    2nd to last

  • nice jump

  • Holy Shit were do i sign up man?

I'd love to do that apart from im in need of all the parachute gear but other than that i have all the 101 airborne kit.

Habrillaint keep me posted on more jumps please.

  • you can find more out about the team at wwiiadt(dot)org

  • It is expensive as fuck though. I'd love to do it. I met a guy at a local WWII reenactment who told me for his 15th aniversery, his wife bought him a airborne jump. That is the PERFECT wife.

  • It's not really that expensive. $1100.00 for the week long class and 5 jumps. Try to skydive for that.

  • Really? Is this located in Oklahoma?

  • go to wwiiadt (dot) org

You can find all the info you need there.

  • Okay its a technique used so you can get out of a twisted chute

  • Thanks for that Its been over 30 years since I made 8 jumps brought it all back

  • Awesome video!

  • Outstanding footage!!! Nice job ADT.

    Juan.

  • do u need a leicense for jumping?

  • To jump with the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team, you need to be prior airborne qualified and attend a refresher, or attend the 9 day jump school we hold twice a year. See our website (listed in the video) for details.

  • I really admire Donald Burgett. He wrote fantastic books.

  • sweet

  • BICYCLE Jumper! BICYCLE! Check your canopy!

  • I heard about that bicyle-thingy, but I did 'airborne-school' in Belgium, and they never thought us that, what is it ?

  • sweeeet

  • What altitude was that? That had to be over 1300 ft, I don't think I've ever taken that long to hit the ground.

  • he has a parachute on!

  • WWII ADT training jumps such as this one are conducted from 1500 feet AGL. Jumps for airshows and demonstration are usually from 1000 AGL.

  • c47???

  • This is awesome! i leave for basic in January and get to go to airborne after ait...i can't wait! Thanks for putting this on here

  • All the way brother..hooah
