To overthrow a tyrant is to 1st of all not furnish them with power, weapons & money; 2nd support popular elements within a given country. This would be counterproductive to the likes of The Carlyle Group & PNAC crew. Also it presupposes popular forces (not based on ignorace or apathy) existing within an influential country. It would take a big (impossible, unless one is an apologist) stretch of the imagination to claim the afformentioned cliques are anything resembling a popular force.
What was the United States supposed to do about the looting? The US government chose not to discipline looters because that simply was not their job, instead they were there as a military (not police) force to find Saddam and WMDs.
Ashley, you weren't wrong to desire better for the Iraqi people than Saddam's tyranny, just like the West led by America was not wrong to liberate them. Your worst mistake was believing it could be done easily, with no looting and insurgency. The presidents and best advisors from around the world were unable to predict these outcomes. But all of us are better off because Saddam's rule has ended.
It doesn't seem that you respect the heritage which has given you the blessings of freedom.
