David only breathes in the middle of a word (like "high_est") when he sings a capella, never on a studio recording.  No producer would allow such a mistake to leave the studio.

raythespian ... it's not a mistake ... he's injecting his own style into the song ... he sings his heart out and is very expressive ... sure you probably won't hear it like this on a CD, but singing live gives an artist a chance to do different things impromptu and off the cuff ... even experiment. David is a true artist. :)

raythespian, you're entitled to your opinion--& I see you aren't a hater...but really, I still don't think there's anything wrong with his doing that. abbyrosewilson just posted what I was also going to say & that is, if it was a classical style of performance or like an oldie version as in the 50's then it might have been obvious and out of place. But his is a very soulful, R&B style. There's room for different interpretations there. Nope nothing wrong with it at all! In fact, quite stellar! :)
