for the smoke glitch where you can use it, I would try flipping the smoke to the opposite ability slot. I did and it worked for me.

I was playing with a few people in manhunt for the defensive round, and they were noobs so they thought they could shoot the pursuers, I loved getting a little SACRIFICE stun off of them.^_^

oh and btw I'm experiencing the same thing as you are! In asa, sometimes my smoke just doesn't activate even if I'm pressing the button. Just that stupid sound.... :(
