It's not just the guns that kill people. Cancer, car accidents, all that other stuff kill way more people than guns do. If you want to keep people from being killed, keep them from smoking, drinking and driving before you keep them from owning firearms. Don't forget, guns work in both directions. If a violent criminal breaks into your home, a gun will also defend you, and will keep you alive.

@AreThereNoMoreNames I read an article that was talking about that over the past 9 years, more soldiers have taken their own lives then have been killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Thought that was pretty shocking.

@VoodooGypsy I'm sure it's more of a problem of people telling them that they're the scum of the earth when many of them are there trying to do good and not get killed, and coming home only to find their stuff stolen, girlfriend gone, house repossessed, dog hit by a car, and people yelling at them for being shipped overseas.

"the rifle at the end" is an AK-47. On the early variants of the AK the barrel does bend a little. The later Varients such as the AK-74 and the AK 100 series dont's really bend much because the barrels are made differently or there is a less powerful round in the chamber than the 7.62x39.

How did they shoot the durn thing with the fouling cover off? I would have thought that the gas tube would be spitting crap all over the place.

It's just the reciever cover. That's not the gas tube. The only thing the reciever cover protects is the recoil spring and some other mechanical parts. So, when you take the reciever cover off all the gas that you get is the gas that normally pushes the bolt back and that's it.

That's what I'm talking about. The inside of the Rx cover is always covered in fouling, so why doesn't that show up being farted out of the gas tube when the bolt carrier comes back far enough? Hmph. Maybe they did something to the piston or something. Whatever. It's cool just to watch.
