  • The father of my pit was a johnson bulldog. <3

  • Check out my abd standard line rokko

  • look at that beefcake!!! he is beautiful!!!!

  • Beautiful dog! He looks exactly like my boy, Dax. Sure hope he doesn't have the problems my Johnson American Bulldog has had. He's got his papers and is a purebred but also has skin allergies, severe hip dysplacia, in his spine and all of his joints. Poor dog is almost 8 years old on Christmas day, if he makes it. I got him when he was 3 (former Owner must have been told the prognosis) but fell in love with his personality. Best wishes to all Johnson American Bulldog owners. The best dog!

  • OOOhhh...YES!!..that is a MONSTER of a GOOD LOOKING AMB....LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM!..sooo what I am looking for...i had two but they died of old age n it's high time I get another its been 5 yrs...lol..good choice in picking..he's beautiful! :)

  • incredible looking dog... may not be recognized by many people... but these dogs are some of the best you'll ever find. Johnson breed forever!

  • Johnson is the closest to the real american bulldog. scot and painter blood has been crossed with pitbulls to get the desired look of a pitbull and stamina if you want a pitbull then get a pit otherwise i believe mr Johnson was the first to start resurrecting the breed. Nice dog man

  • @jcaldwell24 I disagree. It's been said that Johnson started off with good intentions but at some point went way off course. I can see from the results that it's true. The modern Johnson brand of bulldog is simply a refined EngAm (English/American hybred). The proof comes from the fact that Johnson used West Champ's High Hopes into his dogs bloodlines, resulting in an oversized non-athletic bully type dog. These dogs look nothing like the old original buldogs from the past. Scott did it right.

  • @westernhunter38 ..lol...have u EVER owed a Johnson AmBulldog?..um i agree with the oversized..cuz they ARE huge dogs...BUT to say they r NOT athletic...umm...that's where Id have to agree to DISAGREE with a FAIL...LOL...jk...but seriously...they ARE athletic...don't let the size full u..it's all about the pedigree too..trust me..I know...:) have a good one!

  • @chicaloha Never owned a Johnson bulldog, but have spent plenty of time around a few. They are good dogs, not bashing them by any means. I'm simply saying that they are nothing like the working White English Bulldogs (the real American Bulldog) that John D Johnsons started out with in the 1940's and 1950's. A comparison of todays Johnson dogs with a White English Bulldog proves that the modern Johnson dog is now a totally different breed of dog in both appearance and function. I own a WEB.

  • @westernhunter38 not trying to bash the American bulldog?

you do and it doesn't make sense to me that you own a web that has no pedigree , and the American bulldogs do...i hear the web are dogs that come from the hills where there's no fences to keep them from breeding to what ever is out there,, for all you know, they're nothing but mutts...

  • @brownmachine6969 Pedegree doesn't make a pure bred. WEBs reproduce true, and have been for generations over the last 200 to 300 years. Modern American Bulldog lines are still not reproducing true and consistent. There is still way too much variation in appearance within the modern American Bulldog lines. That's not a bash either! Johnson started out using WEBs as a pure foundation stock for his re-creation bulldog, he bred modern shorty English bulldog into his lines too, among other breeds.

  • @westernhunter38 web's don't reproduce true... they throw short and long hair, also, long , short and medium muzzle...

and the body type is never the same....

like i said they don't have pedigrees to prove their ancestry all they have is the breeders word...FAIL!!!!

American bulldogs is the way to go... I've owned some for 15 years...i know the difference...

  • @brownmachine6969 I know the difference too. Been around these dogs a way longer than 15 years. Haven't seen the variation among WEBs that you described. There wasn't as much variation among the old country bulldogs in the past, those dogs didn't have a pedegree either, but reproduced truer than Johnsons lines do today. I don't care, because I don't get hung up on pedegree. There's lots of good dogs out there. The old bulldogs weren't extinct when Johnson started, they were just becoming rare.

  • @westernhunter38 dude !!!

get off your space ship trip already!!!

LOL...west camps high hopes was used on a Johnson dog in the 70's and bred back into more American bulldogs diluting the e/b blood ...and its all in the pedigrees, but the web's, Ive talked to people from the hills and they say they're just bird dogs and pit bulls crossed to American bulldogs and black mouth curs...

  • @brownmachine6969 Talking to a few people from the hills doesn't equate to actually owning several WEBs over the decades and knowing breeders of those WEBs. The modern lines of American Bulldogs have been crossbred for looks, they are no longer the same dogs as their forebearers. Johnsons dogs are simply an attempt at a recreation, not the ORIGINAL. Johnson dogs are not catch dogs. WEBs are catch dogs and they predate Pits by at least 200 yrs.

  • @westernhunter38 man, we are just gonna go back and forth on this...

the only thing i can say for this topic is , the AMERICAN BULLDOG has pedigrees and your web doesn't...

think about it which one is the real mutt???

    the WEB.....

  • Cane stupendo, purtroppo in Italia l'allevamento di questa razza è ancora agli albori

  • Nah don't get johnson line ambulls, their just big and fat. Get a scott line ambull, now those are real bulldogs.

  • @ImGoingInSolo if a had a farm and a real job for my dog to do, or i didnt work and wanted to walk my dog 4 times a day, then yeh Id get a scott line, or even a pit. but familys wanting a large guard dog with only medium exercise requirements are better suited to have a johnson

  • @mgbrawl Well thats sad, did you know that 2 in 3 Americans are fat fucks? I'm not discriminating, and it's sad, it's not like cancer in which you can not make it go away. Unless you have a disease you should not be proud to be fat, it's a disgrace to Americans as a whole. This generation of Americans I've read will live LESS than their parents generation. : (

  • @ImGoingInSolo: I have no idea why you are telling me you think americans are fat, im not even american, im english.

my point was people who do not want want/have a lifestyle that allows for an extremly active dog should get a more chilled out dog.

so many dogs end up in slelters/put down because people cannot cope or meet their needs, a more chilled dog is easier to handle.

  • @mgbrawl I've seen dogs just turned over to a pound not because the owners had no time for the dog but because they just didn't want all the extra responsibility and were too lazy. I have a pit, all he needs is one hour of a good workout and he is calm and obedient. Who doesn't have one hour? Most ppl watch 4 fucking hours of tv. and they claim they have no time???

  • @ImGoingInSolo a high energy pit/type is simply not ideal for everyone. it would would be irresponsible/ignorent to suggest otherwise...

  • @mgbrawl There is no pit type american bulldog. Ambulls do not have as much energy as a pit, there is no excuse in saying you don't have half an hour each day or an hour every other day to work out your dog. Most ppl are just too lazy, that is the real reason ppl don't have time. Or they are stressed business ppl who chose to be rich instead of happy. lol

  • @ImGoingInSolo a high energy pit/scott/ type is simply not ideal for everyone. suggesting otherwise is irresponsible/ignorent.

  • @mgbrawl I don't care I posted that comment 2 months ago.

  • @ImGoingInSolo err, yeh and i replied 2 months ago....(wtf?)

and i DO care about that conversation because people getting unsuitable dogs is the no.1 reason many are neglected/ taken to shelters.

  • BEAUTIFUL JOHNSON BULLY! i was wondering where did u get him? i wnt one exactly like him. he has GREAT muscle mass n his temperment is extraordinary. plus i love his white coat. do u have n e of his pups yet????
